4th Ocarina Attempt This one is also tuned in the key of A. I was trying to make the voicing a little bit smaller as some recommended that this would help in increasing the range. I'm able to get out all but the highest note (in this case D). Problems I ran into: Ocarina is a lot quieter than my last one. I think this might have to do with the angle of the edge. I realize this angle can be both variable on the inside and outside of the ocarina, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with the outside angle. On my 3rd oc the voicing is much deeper while this one is closer to the surface. The ocarina seems to be squeaky at times. At one point while playing you'll hear me squeak and then attempt to play the same note again but blowing more softly which results in the note coming out. Depth of the walls isn't consistent. I ran into this issue on the left thumb hole. I had to continually wear down the inside cavity of the hole to get it in tune. For my next one I'm going to try and make the voicing a little deeper into the oc. Also, I need to find something better to make my voicing and wind way with. The wind way needs to be a little thicker. As if right now it looks like I may need to just carve up some wood myself with the appropriate measurements. If you guys have any suggestions please feel free to share. Also, if I'm drawing any incorrect conclusions please let me know as well XD.

T-28D Maiden Flight, double perspective The first few flights of the Parkzone Trojan. The first flight was nose-heavy, but when I moved the battery back it was better. Sorry for the novice filming, that is my friend. He had never filmed before and we got up at six in the morning hoping for no wind, but we flew even in the 8-10 mph breeze. This plane handles wind way better than the super cub! If you want to give him a hard time do that on the DX5e mod page, that was his video. I will try to post something about HIS new plane, the ultra micro mustang. There was supposed to be more music but the computer was not cooperating. oh well. Thanks for watching and happy flying. Eleanor Plunket - CPVC D Whistle This is a test run of my latest whistle. It is in D. It is tuneable. It is made from ½ inch CPVC water pipe. The fipple block is made from ½inch dia Acrylic from a hobby shop. Since the id of the pipe is less than ½ inch (0.485 inch) the fipple was expanded to ½ inch in the fipple area ( approx 40mm) using a heat gun to soften the plastic then inserting a tapered wooden mandrel. So that the whole length of the windway and lip is ½ inch id. Below this it tapers to 0.485 inch. The windway cap and the tuning sleeve are made from the same pipe but expanded to suit using heat and suitable dia mandrels. The windway sleeve is 23mm long and but it was initially approx 30mm then filed and polished to its final size and shape after being fitted over the tube and block. The block is shaped at the same time as the windway sleeve. The sleeve is a force fit over the fipple and no glue is needed in assembly of the block or windway sleeve. The fipple is made by cutting a slot in the expanded tube 8mm wide and 30mm long, slightly wider at the mouth end. Then the lip is carved. If the lip is made too sharp it will pop up to the second octave before you get a strong lower octave note. The block slides in and is 5mm from the lip. A slight taper is filed on the top of the block to increase the Bernoulli effect. But nothing is filed off the end nearest the lip. The tuning sleeve is 40mm long. We cut the fipple tube 68mm below the lip. Then slide the the tuning tube on to the fipple 10mm. Use ...

Second G Flute I made a second flute in the key of G, this one out of 1/2" PVC. It's much easier to play and more in tune because I used a cork in place of a PVC end cap. The cork can be moved to tune it over all and especially between octaves, which can be a problem with flutes that are not tapered. I've seen a fix for this on another site that uses a wedge that fits in the windway. I have a few ideas on how to replicate the wedge but I haven't had time to experiment with them. This flute is much better than the first one I made and I'm going to try one in the key of F next, using 1/2" PVC. My cost on this one was 73 cents for the pipe and the cork. I'll probably make a whole set of these, as far as 1/2" PVC allows. I still plan to make more out of 3/4" PVC from a Low C on up until I have to switch from 1/2" PVC. Once I have a full set in the Major keys, I have a few other scales I want to try.

This whistle has been slightly tweaked by removing the rough edges from the end of the tube that fits in the mouthpiece and blocking up the gap below the wind way.
