G Loomis Whispercreek GLX Fly Fishing Rods - Leland Fly Fishing Outfitters If you like to sneak up on your trout like Wile E. Coyote, but without the calamity, then you need one of the new G. Loomis WhisperCreek Series Fly Rods. These special-purpose fly rods are designed specifically for short, yet accurate casts with soft presentations. When fly fishing on very clear or shallow water, too many false casts or one poor landing of your cast can ruin the whole pool. You might as well go back to your car for another cup of coffee! These Whispercreek rods are not the willowy branches of old, but medium action rods with zip that give you control over the destiny of where your fly is headed. Through the power of GLX graphite, World Casting Champion Steve Rajeff and the folks at G. Loomis created a special casting dry fly rod that is perfect for small creeks and gin clear springs and fishing with ultra-thin tippets and tiny flies. The WhisperCreek Series fly rods bring a purpose to medium-action fly rods and pleasure back into your fly fishing.

Intensia Phlox Intensia® phlox is an offspring of a phlox that is native to southwestern United States. With a parent like that you know that this plant is tough and can really take the heat and humidity. It is an annual phlox that produces the same hefty blooms as its perennial cousins, but with much more gusto. Not only will this phlox hold up during the dog days of summer, it can also handle a light frost so it will be one of the last blooms to fade in your fall garden. Now that's one long lasting flower! Intensia® has won awards in areas across the country, proving that this little plant will perform in a variety of growing conditions. All of the varieties in this series stay between 10 to 16 inches and have an upright, willowy form reminiscent of wildflowers. Although diminutive in stature, the blooms are large, often up to 1-inch across. I'm partial to Intensia® Cabernet, a deep magenta, and Intensia® Neon Pink, which is hot pink
MADELEINE STOWE'S LEATHERSTOCKING TALES [PLEASE READ] "Shame on you!...You're all bad!" Madeleine Stowe--as dreamy, willowy "Hetty Hutter"--scolds the Huron Indians in THE DEERSLAYER. A power video of goodwill, beauty, and great admiration. Select clips from THE DEERSLAYER (1978). An NBC television "movie event" originally airing on December 18, 1978. With an SS Schweitzer teleplay based on the 1841 novel by James Fenimore Cooper, THE DEERSLAYER was directed by Richard Friedenberg on location in Utah. First seen together on television in THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS (1977), actors Steve Forrest and Ned Romero reprise their Leatherstocking-Tales roles of "Hawkeye" and "Chingachgook," respectively, for the following year's Schick Sunn Classics production of THE DEERSLAYER. Discrepancies in age, appearance, style, and actions between the book characters and the actors and actresses cast in those roles in THE DEERSLAYER (1978) and the motion picture THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS (1992) will be obvious to anyone familiar with JFC's writings. However, the virtue of verisimilitude belongs most to the latter film in that it cast actual Native Americans (Lakota Sioux Russell Means, Cherokee Wes Studi) in prominent roles. Both films benefit from the casting of Madeleine Stowe, whose artless artistry is the true sign of a "gifted actress"—and that is a breed rarer than critical or popular opinion may lead you to believe, dear reader. In this amoral day and age, it is also a breed starved for dignified projects. Along with ...

Georges Guétary - Chic a Chiquito georges guétary - chic a chiquito Rec.: 1945 Label: Pathé PG 257 Georges Guetary, the French singing star best known to American audiences as Gene Kelly's rival for the affections of Leslie Caron in the Oscar-winning 1951 film ''An American in Paris,'' died on Saturday in a clinic in Mougins on the French Riviera. Mr. Guetary, who lived in Cannes, was 82. In ''An American in Paris,'' built around the music of George Gershwin, Mr. Guetary was the focus of attention in a spectacular scene in which he strutted up and down a majestic staircase singing ''I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise'' while flanked by willowy and scantily (but flamboyantly) clad showgirls; he shared the spotlight with Kelly in a rousing rendition of '' 'S Wonderful.'' Although Mr. Guetary also performed on the London and Broadway stages, he achieved his greatest renown in France, where his career of nearly 60 years took off when he became the singing partner of the music hall queen Mistinguett at the Casino de Paris not long after making his first stage appearance in 1938. He was a fixture for nine years at the Chatelet operetta theater, appeared in more than a score of French films, starred on stage with the French comedian Bourvil in ''The Flowered Way,'' made records, sang and danced on television and gave some 40 gala performances a year until his retirement on the Riviera two years ago. Among his most popular recordings were ''Bambino,'' ''Papa Aime Maman'' and ''La Samba Bresilienne.'' Mr. Guetary ...
College Swing: I Fall in Love with You Every Day This very charming song is performed by John Payne and Florence George. It is taken from the 1938 Paramount film, "College Swing." The film is available on a DVD which includes "The Big Broadcast of 1938." The DVD production notes state that Miss George had come from the Chicago opera. She also appeared frequently on Nelson Eddy's radio show in the 1940s. The melody was written by Manning Sherwin, who also wrote, "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square." The lyrics are by Frank Loesser. Paramount ace, Victor Milner, provides the beautiful photography, which nicely matches the willowy orchestration. One interesting aspect of the number is Florence George's counter-point singing when John Payne takes up the lyric. I think this quite unusual in movie musicals and can only recall Irene Dunne and Allan Jones performing it in "I Have The Room Above Her," from the 1936 version of "Showboat." To me, this sweetly wistful number is a little gem, which should be better known.

Hero Worship: Caitlin Fairchild Virtually every American child grows up reading comic books. Some never outgrow it. Even Hollywood is deeply into comic heroes. So it shouldn't surprise us to find some extremely good illustrators behind our popular art, especially when the subject is a scantily clad lady. Here are some of our top illustrators and artists celebrating that brilliant and willowy female member of the Gen13, Caitlin Fairchild.

ALABAMA FOOTBALL-Don Hutson Fluid in motion, wondrously elusive with the fake, inventive in his patterns and magnificently at ease when catching the ball, Don Hutson set the standard for pass receivers. Hutson and fellow Hall of Famer Millard "Dixie" Howell became football's most celebrated passing combination as they thrilled Alabama fans in the 1930's, the infant years of the aerial weapon. Tall, willowy and blessed with deceptive speed and varied gifts, Hutson was the first to perfect the techniques of catching the ball "in traffic." He made the end-around a devastating threat and shifting speeds a must. When Hutson grabbed six passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns in the Crimson Tide's 29- 13 victory over Stanford in the Rose Bowl, West Coast writers hailed him as "the greatest pass-catching speed merchant end". Hutson made All-America at Alabama in 1934. He scored the winning touchdown on a 9-yard, end-around play as Alabama beat Tennessee 13-6. He caught six passes, two for touchdowns, against Clemson. Hutson, 6-1 in height, 183 pounds, was at one end for Alabama. The other end was Bear Bryant, a future coaching great. Hutson also played centerfield for the baseball team and ran for the track team. He was timed in 9.8 seconds for the 100-yard dash. On one occasion he ran track, then donned a uniform and played a baseball game-all on the same day. After his Alabama days, Hutson played 11 years with the Green Bay Packers, 1935-45. He was all-pro 9 times, led the league in pass receptions 8 ...

SOULS & NATURE - Joanelle Mulrain Music copyright by 2006 Sac music international THE KENT GALLERY OF FLORIDA COMMUNITY COLLEGE AT JACKSONVILLE SOULS & NATURE Florida Artist, Photographer & Author Joanelle Mulrain ARTIST STATEMENT I have been smiled upon during my lifetime. Through a myriad of experiences and travels that have broadened my mind and pleased my soul, I am now back to my roots, those that grew and became my foundation. I have always wanted to go back to painting and photography, and write a book. Now, I am in the midst of this exciting trilogy of work. Through my painting, I express the beautiful wild and willowy cattail in the swamps and tributaries of the St. Johns River and beyond. They are sentinels for our environment. My range of color is exciting to work with and my tools are decades old, recently found and now reused. Through my photography I capture in a very simple way what I see with my eye and now am able to share with others. Through the words in my book I am able to touch those in the midst of change and support their move forward. I have found my place for a while and am blessed.
Traditional Chinese Music, Picking Flowers(采花):Erhu(二胡):Lei Qiang This song, Picking Flowers, is from the CD - Chinese Traditional Erhu Music Vol. 2. I recommend this CD to anyone interested in traditional Erhu. The Erhu player is the very well known and highly regarded Lei Qiang. For those people not familiar with the Erhu, this CD is a great introduction to the Chinese musical instrument. It is one of the most, if not the most, expressive of musical instruments. Often sounding "willowy" and/or mystical, it is often referred to as the Chinese violin. It is a two stringed bow instrument with sound qualities similar to the cello. The Erhu is the heart of Traditional Chinese music. I do not own the content of this video.

Beautiful Old City of Sadah مدينة صعدة القديمة البديعة Before it became the epicenter of a violent conflict, Sada was a deeply rooted in Yemeni cultures and traditions. The city is located to the east of Archaeological Mount Talmuss on which is Tamulss fortress that was built by Yaali Bin Omer Bin Zaid and is overlooking Sadah and its Mikhlafs as well as Wadi Gharaz, Wadi Rahban. It has been destroyed later and renovated by Imam Yehya Bin Hamzah who constructed control towers and at present there are only some remains. Imam Nashwan Bin Saeed Al Himiari said in his second part of Shams Al Illom Scroll about the name of Sadah, Sadah is a town for Khawlan Bin Amro and was named Sadah because a King of Himyar built a high castle and once seen by the king he said it has been elevated and hence came the name, Sadah in Arabic is also straight pipe and Sadah is an adjective for a willowy woman. In pre-Islamic era it used to be named Joma ie a mixture of people from different tribes. There are no sound proofs about who founded Sadah but the ancient Yemeni Geographer Al Hamdani recounted that Hajar Bin Rabiah Bin Saad Bin Khawlan left Sirwah towards the north and passed by the field of Sadah that was lightly settled and founded the town. There are inscriptions speaking about the town of Khawlan Al sham and that is Sadah and there are other inscriptions in the name of Rahban because Sadah is located directly to the north. Those inscriptions date back to before the 4th century AD. It is also noted through follow-up of the inscriptions ...
Deep Blue - Tajemství oceánu 1/9 (CZ znění) "For their acclaimed BBC series THE BLUE PLANET, directors Alistair Fothergill and Andy Byatt dispatched cameras to the far reaches of the earth in order to collect footage of sea life that, for all its otherworldliness. DEEP BLUE is a mesmerizing highlight reel of the most entrancing footage from their journey. Among the unforgettable images on display is a sea horse that alternately resembles a Chinese dragon and a thriving house plant, a squadron of penguins violently hurling themselves belly-first onto an ice floe, a heartbreaking slow-motion killer whale attack on a baby seal, and a montage of willowy deep-sea denizens that call to mind the extraterrestrials from James Cameron's THE ABYSS. Eschewing textbook wordiness in favor of pure jaw-dropping visual awe, the struggles and oddities from the world of DEEP BLUE are sure to be eye-opening for all but the most seasoned seafarer."

Rebecca Hall - a chat with Noelle McCarthy Rebecca Hall's portfolio makes for some rather impressive reading; her latest projects include works by Shakespeare, Chekhov, Woody Allen and more. It's a weighty, well-respected list. One that suggests the willowy 26-year-old brunette is somewhat selective when it comes to choosing her projects. Perhaps a bit precious even. The type of actress who might pronounce the word "theatre" in three syllables. But as the British-born actress comes on the phone, taking time out from technical rehearsals at the Brooklyn Academy of Music [BAM] in New York, any and all such notions are forgotten as she begins discussing her backside. "I've been wearing a pregnancy suit all day," she explains, in a less-than-posh English accent. "It's brought me out in hives all over my behind." She's not worried though, she laughs. "No one will see that on stage and I've switched suits now, so it should be fine." The 26-year-old will arrive in New Zealand next month with the rest of the Bridge Project cast - including Ethan Hawke, Simon Russell Beale, Sinead Cusack and Richard Easton - to perform two plays: Chekhov's Cherry Orchard and Shakespeare's A Winter's Tale, directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes. Part of the Edge's International Arts Season, the project is a transAtlantic collaboration between London's Old Vic Theatre and BAM, featuring a cast of American and British actors. After opening the season in New York in January, the company are touring Singapore, Auckland, Spain and Germany, before ...
JiffyLube Windshield Chip We all have to start somewhere. For most people, their ignominious beginnings within the bowels of a corporation, law firm or nail salon are not immediately put on display and then saved in one form or another to be brought back years later at inopportune moments. Like when running for public office or wooing a lady. But such is the fate of the advertising writer or art director. While our very first headlines, layouts or (shudder) *** may not get produced, at some point some project gets the green light and we are finally able to hold our first piece of bona fide advertising in our still-baby-smooth hands. Unless it's a digital ad. Then we just stare. Back before Al Gore even dreamed of claiming to have personally hand-coded the internet, I was a young, willowy sapling of a writer, trying my best to get a job in the red-hot advertising market that was Kansas City. I had been doing some freelancing for a small (six-person) shop on their retirement homes account. Seeing that I was not scared away by these glamorous assignments, the agency owner decided to use me for their next Jiffy Lube spot. The local Jiffy Lube franchise was going to begin offering windshield chip repair and wanted a TV spot to tout this new profit center. The only requirements were that it had to feature the local franchise himself (as all their spots did), and it had to be cheap (as all their spots were). The former I knew I could somehow accommodate. The latter, well, I had no idea what anything ...

Madame Sarkozy carla bruni Quelqu'un M'a Dit Madame Sarkozy In the list of fascinating 'first ladies' Argentina's Eva Peron, Monaco's Princess Grace, America's Jackie Kennedy and, of course, our own Princess Diana stand out as icons of the 20th Century. Then along came Carla! The ex-supermodel dazzled everyone last week when she flew in for a state visit with her new husband, France's President Nicolas Sarkozy. While women enviously eyed the former Ms Bruni's willowy figure, designer wardrobe and immaculate grooming, the men she met - from Prince Charles to the Prime Minister - just looked hopelessly smitten. Even the Queen's husband seemed enchanted by France's new First Lady. The Duke of Edinburgh accompanied Carla in the Scottish State Coach as the royal welcoming procession rolled up the Long Walk into Windsor Castle quadrangle. The two then chatted together, pausing only when La Marseillaise was played. By the end of the day, when they entered the state banquet at Windsor, it appeared the 86-year-old Iron Duke had completely melted under Carla's charm. Prince Charles seemed equally taken with Italian-born beauty Carla. Welcoming the French guests at Heathrow, the Prince pressed her black-gloved hand to his lips with true Continental finesse. Unfortunately for Carla, just 24 hours earlier Christie's auction house had released a pre-sale photograph of the First Lady wearing nothing but a smouldering look. It will go under the hammer in New York shortly. Anxious to prove that the photo, taken 15 ...
