How to NOT make a weighted companion cube SONG USED: Still Alive GAME: PORTAL SUNG BY: GLaDOS WRITTEN BY: Jonathan Coulton Material: Foamboard, Foamcore exacto knife or scissors pen and/or pencil something to measure angles tape, duct tape, double sided tape and or scotchtape pins( not necessary) 1/16 thick cardboard or very sturdy and flexible cardboard Corner template available here: ruler grey paint (acrylic or spray paint) another shade of grey or white paint in acrylic pink felt, foams and or cardboard pictures of a weighted companion cube as references LOTS OF LOVE NOT NEEDED: A CAT To make 12x12x12 cube 1. measure a 12x12 square and trace it on the foam board (Note: Make sure your angles are 90 degrees) 2. Cut out 6 pieces of the same size 3. Make sure that all 6 pieces fit nicely together (Note: I pined mine together using sewing pins) 4. I used double sided tape to stick 5 pieces together Note: this step is not neccesary) 5. Tape the inside with tape 6. Tape the 6 piece and secure all the corners (Note: for extra support tape around the middle) 7.Now use the template for the courners and trace 8 of them on very sturdy but flexible cardboard 8. cut them out 9. I improvise for the middle piece so you do the same ^^ you will need 12 of those 10. Bend all the pieces. Using either a rules, pen or whatever is around 12.Secure these pieces with tape to the cube 13. 335 lbs x 7 Bench Press & Weighted Pullups Chinups (at 210 lbs) Weighted Pullup/Chinup workout today.... Started off by warming up the upper body with the bench. I hit a relatively easy PR with 335 lbs (still feeling weak from the flu and hitting bench yesterday). The weighted pullups/chinups all felt pretty good, so hopefully it won't take me too long to hit my goal of 5 reps with 100 lbs. Another goal of mine is to be able to do a Muscle Up. So, I used some band assistance at the end of the workout to practice those. I need to try these on a straight bar, as my bar bends in at the middle so I have nothing to muscle up to. I'll try it at the park next time... I finished the workout how I started it....on the bench. I wanted to see if I could hit 10 reps with 3 plates (315 lbs) with one breath. It wasn't too bad actually...a fun little test. Thanks for watching...
