Music Visualization: Mute Math - Reset (HD) Please watch this from start to finish. Don't just jump into the middle and say "I don't get it". Also, if you can, please watch it in HD. I sacrificed a few extra rendering hours for it to be in HD. I took a bullet for you, man! Now that that is out of the way, onto whatever else there is. One day I heard the song Reset by Mute Math and I liked it a lot. Then I thought 'Hey, I'm learning After Effects! Why not make a music video?' This video took me a few days to make. However, this wasn't nonstop working. I'd put in a few hours every day. I am quite proud of it, as it is one of the few videos I have actually finished. There is no plot, no anything; just shapes and colors to the beat of the music. [NERDY STUFF] Rendering took 3 and a half hours in CS4 on my Duo Core processor and 4gb (3.2 with my Windows XP) of ram. When it was done, however, the file size was 25.5gb. I couldn't do much with a 25gb file (I couldn't even watch it without lag), so I used DivX to compress it to 164mb with absolutely no noticeable quality loss (how DivX does it, I don't wanna know...). That's about 21 times smaller, for all you math enthusiasts (no pun intended). Just sit back and enjoy the ride :) UPDATE: A number of people have requested that I offer download links to the video, so here they are: Visit this URL to download the video:

The Power of Visualization You can change the world. It's easy. How? In this video, scientist Gregg Braden explains how the Law of Attraction works. That there is a field around us, a collective consciousness, in which we all participate. This collective consciousness creates our reality. It can be influenced by us through our DNA, by using the power of our thoughts and our heart. We can use this law on an individual base but also collectively, to change our world. There's even a formula (the square root of 1%) of how many participants are needed to achieve a certain effect for a bigger group (for instance peace). This has been proven scientifically, through experiments. For changing the whole world population this would only take 8000 participants. The power of visualization is a gift from God for mankind to take fate into our own hands, and not having to stand by and watch powerlessly. So, let's accept this gift gratefully, and use it!! If you want to participate in future mass visualizations where we use our collective power for causes like cleaning our planet and helping people in need, you can leave your e-mail address at our website The images of Gregg Braden are taken from his video "The Science of Miracles" which can also be found on YouTube.
David McCandless: The beauty of data visualization David McCandless turns complex data sets (like worldwide military spending, media buzz, Facebook status updates) into beautiful, simple diagrams that tease out unseen patterns and connections. Good design, he suggests, is the best way to navigate information glut -- and it may just change the way we see the world.TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Visualization For Life Part 2 - Jon lost an amazing 226lbs without diet or surgery. The before and after pictures you've seen are real, untouched photos of Jon's personal transformation. In 2001 Jon Gabriel weighed 409 lbs. He'd tried almost every popular diet available without success. Not only did he fail to lose weight—he was steadily gaining. Overweight, overworked and unhappy, Jon was ready to give up. Then on September 11th 2001, Jon received a wake-up call. He was scheduled to fly from Newark to San Francisco that day and it was only by chance that he was not on the United Airlines Flight 93 that was hijacked by terrorists and crashed in Pennsylvania with no survivors. Jon realized that life was a precious opportunity not to be wasted. He realized that his weight would eventually kill him and decided to do something about it. Over the next two and a half years, Jon lost over 100 kilos without dieting, pills or surgery. He also stopped feeling stressed and overworked and started living the life of his dreams. Audio Visualization Smoke with Trapcode Particular Another audio visualization animation using Trapcode Particular & SoundKeys to visualize one of my latest improvisations, "Running". This time, I wanted to take a more organic approach rather than "particles" emitting everywhere. Nothing too fancy, just doing my own experiments and thought I'd share it for those who think this is interesting. Fun fact: This took about 6 hours to render due to the fact that about 4000 particles are being emitted per particle trail. Website: Facebook Twitter: Leave any comments or suggestions below!

Visualization of Einstein's special relativity This video demonstrates the effects of Einstein's special relativity on objects that move at high velocities. More particularly, it visualizes the Lorentz transformation. The video shows a 3-dimensional view containing 2 dimensions of space and one dimension of time. This view is used to demonstrate the difference between classical physics and Einstein's relativity, and why the latter was necessary to understand experimental results. Visit our sponsors:

Visualization of Quick sort This video was created for It demonstrates two comparison sorting algorithms Bubble sort and Quick sort. Comparison sorting algorithms are only allowed to 'see' the data through a sequence of pair-wise comparisons, therefore they are applicable to any type of comparable objects: numbers, strings, colored balls, etc Bubble sort is very simple but has poor performance. A comparison sorting algorithm's performance is usually measured by the number of comparisons it makes. Bubble sort performs on the order of n^2 comparisons to sort n elements. Quick sort is only slightly more complicated but usually performs much better (as demonstrated in the video). It performs on average an order of n log(n) comparisons to sort n elements. This is much lower than n^2 for large values of n. However, if the algorithm makes some 'unlucky' choices it might require n^2 comparisons after all. Other algorithms exist that guarantee the number of comparisons will not exceed n log(n), however, in practice Quick sort usually out-performs all other comparison sorting algorithms due to its simplicity. If other operations other than pair-wise comparisons are allowed, then a broader range of algorithms can be used. Some of them can perform much faster than Quick sort, but they are limited to a particular type of elements, eg, numbers is a certain range.
