A Venture by Yes Lyrics: (Anderson) Once a peaceful man laid his old head down by a river, Thought about his childhood life, his father and forgiver, Couldn't hide away, hide away. He controlled the horses with a handclap or a whisper, Drink he couldn't combat but he knew he was no sinner, Couldn't hide away, hide away. He told all his sons of all the antics of adventure, Then he told another one who drove himself to drink Not to hide away, hide away. Better men have realized alone is not a venture, A decent man would realize alone is not a venture, Just to hide away, hide away. He told all his sons of all the antics of adventure, Then he told another one who drove himself to drink Not to hide away, hide away. From Wikipedia: The Yes Album is the third album by British progressive rock band Yes. The first release to feature 24-year-old guitarist Steve Howe, the album was released on Atlantic Records in February 1971 in the UK, a month later in the United States. This was the album that finally set Yes' career alight, with the album reaching #4 in the UK and, eventually, #40 in the US, where it was a platinum seller. This was also the last Yes album for over twelve years to feature keyboardist Tony Kaye until his return in 1983's 90125. The Yes Album set the stage for the band's route to superstardom with Fragile and Close to the Edge. This was their first commercial success and, reportedly, it had to be or Atlantic was going to cut them loose. The album was recorded at an old farmhouse in ...

This Week in Venture Capital - Michael Montgomery, President of Montgomery & Co. This week we have Michael Montgomery, President of Montgomery & Co. For more information, show notes, and an upcoming schedule, go to . For detailed shownotes check out Mark Suster's blog post If you don't know Montgomery & Co it is one of the premier technology & media focused investment banks in the country (and as Michael corrected me they also have a strong Healthcare / Med tech practice). For entrepreneurs who want to learn about how to work with investment banks, how to position yourself to be acquired and what the IPO markets look like this is the episode to watch. Michael is a very accomplished corporate executive in his own right having run Sega Gameworks and helped IPO EuroDisney as well as having been on the founding team of DreamWorks SKG (where he helped them raise their first $900 million in equity). Shame they didn't like his suggested name for the company: DreamWorks SKG-MM We discussed: 1. The Montgomery Conference: one of the top technology events of the annual calendar in the United States and held every March. The importance of the conference is that it assembles most of the top privately held early-to-mid-stage technology companies in the country (and some globally) as well as most VC's, growth equity funds and corporate development departments from large industry players looking at technology acquisitions. You have to be selected to present and it is typically reserved for companies that have already ...

Venture Bros Season 4.5 Trailer New season starts September 12th

Yes - A Venture Yes are an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968 and generally regarded as one of the archetypal bands of the genre. Despite a great many lineup changes, occasional splits within the group and the ever-changing trends in popular music, the band has continued on for over forty years and still retains a large following. The band's music blends symphonic and other 'classical' structures with their own brand of rock music, which is marked by sharp dynamic contrasts, extended song lengths, abstract lyrics, and a general showcasing of instrumental prowess. Although the band's sole consistent member has been bass player Chris Squire (noted for his highly melodic and discursive playing as well as his early use of electronic effects), Yes is also generally noted for the distinctive high-register vocals of lead singer Jon Anderson and the eclectic musical stylings of a succession of guitarists (Peter Banks, Steve Howe, Trevor Rabin, Billy Sherwood), keyboard players (Tony Kaye, Rick Wakeman, Patrick Moraz, Geoff Downes, Igor Khoroshev) and drummers (Bill Bruford and Alan White). Several band members became celebrated musicians and/or bandleaders in their own right, and a 1980 lineup of the band was briefly fronted by future production star Trevor Horn. ________________________________________ Once a peaceful man laid his old head down by a river, Thought about his childhood life, his father and forgiver, Couldn't hide away, hide away.
