  • Hives - Delayed Pressure Urticaria - Part 5 This is a continuing update of my progress with Delayed Pressure Urticaria (DPU) and Hives. I actually finished this video about a week after the making of Part 4, however, due to my schedule, I'm only now getting around to uploading (10/02/2009). This video primarily shows the effectiveness of Singulair, the medication that I'm currently trying. As noted in the video, it seems to be holding back any major outbreaks, however, I'm definately not hive free or "delayed pressure" free. After surfing for about 4 to 5 hours in the morning, this video shows the effects that I was experiencing later in the evening of the same day. Since this video, I've been taking a 20mg dose of Prednisone per day due to my recent passion for surfing. My doctor has advised against this continued dosage and once again has me on a "taper down" of Prednisone for the next few weeks until I am safely weened. His recommendation at the moment is to get off of the Prednisone and experiment with a combination of Singulair and Zyrtec. He also had mentioned a recent case involving someone who was suffering from DPU and had good results from a drug called "entanercept". I've included a couple of links below that provide information on this drug. I've had to delay my plans to do a "liver cleanse" until my schedule lightens up a little. My next update will either be of my next dreaded "outbreak", or will be the "liver cleanse. Until then, best wishes and thanks for watching. Keep the faith my fellow sufferers ...
