Where there are cars parked on the left I am maintaining a safe distance from car doors that may open unexpectedly. I was approached from behind and on the right by a delivery truck bearing registration # CHL453. This truck passed unsafely, within inches of me, squeezing between my bicycle and a traffic island. This action on the part of the driver caused me fear for my safety. I alerted the truck to my presence with a 115db air-horn (AirZound) but the truck took no evasive action. The driver later stated that it was my fault that he passed within inches of me because bicycles do not belong on the road. 1) This is a professional driver? 2) Even if he was correct, does that makes it acceptable for him to put me in danger? Apparently the driver later told a police officer that I swerved in front of him, and he had nowhere to go. I don't believe that claim is supported by the video. UFO And Cessna Nearly Collide In Peru January 1, 2011 On January 1. 2011 a couple of medical professionals on a trip to Peru, took the first early morning flight on a small Cesna aircraft to view the famous Nazca Lines. This video was taken from the plane window during the viewing of the lines. The weather was absolutely perfect, as it usually is in this part of the desert. From out of no where, the plane was overtaken by a large dark dense set of clouds. The passengers described fear as the captain of the plane asked them to brace themselves against the immenent turbulance. The small craft was soon entirely engulfed by the clouds. The man videoing the Nazca Lines kept the camera rolling as they passed through the clouds. Unknown to the tourist was the disk that passed unsafely close to the plane. He did not notice it until they returned to their room later on in the morning and viewed the tape. He was so shocked at what he had seen that he uploaded segments of the flight and shared them to be viewed by others. At this time the tourist is still in Peru for another 10 days and will not be available for questions until he comes back to the US.

Staying out of the "door zone" of parked cars on the left. There's plenty of room with three lanes of travel and light traffic. I've got my usual florescent, reflective and flashing accessories. No one can say they didn't see me. Instead of using one of the other two available lanes to pass safely, this car FGK853 unsafely passes within a few inches of me, cuts in front of me (and brakes for no reason??), and saves NO TIME by doing it. This driver risks my life to gain nothing. This type of driver behavior is too typical and 99.99% of the time no one gets hurt; but this is exactly the type of thing that inevitably causes injury or death when drivers miscalculate their passing distance by just a few inches. This is why we need to enforce safe-passing laws when cyclists complain. Allowing this type of unsafe driving makes injury and death of cyclists inevitable. Apparently my mistake here was not taking the whole lane, which would have forced the driver to use another lane and pass safely. If drivers like this passed safely, cyclists wouldn't need to occupy a whole lane. This should be a lesson to me, and other cyclists, that we can't afford to be a "nice guy" and hug the edge of the lane. NADAC Hoopers Runs Hoopers is a new game in NADAC that consists of upright hula-hoops that the dog has to run through. The course is numbered, with faults for off course hoops, missing hoops, or unsafely performing the hoops. The object of the game is more to test the handlers' skills and quick thinking. The dog can run full out with no "air time", allowing for faster speeds than on a jumpers course. These are several hoopers runs (some qualifying, and some not!) on a Novice course from the Mega-Dogs Memorial Day weekend trial 2007. Enjoy! IMPORTANT!! ETA: NADAC has now changed the game rules.
