An Unremarkable Day This video was my entry into Nikon's "Your Day in 140 Seconds or Less" contest. It didn't get selected as a finalist, but in seeing the other entries - over a THOUSAND of the - I realized I may have aimed a little high. I encourage you to take a look at the entries at - and don't think too poorly of mine when you do. Still, I think this one is kind of cool. I didn't use anywhere near the 140 seconds I was allotted, and I had to rely on my own wits for music, using my imagination, an accordion and an electronic keyboard. The curved horizon is due to the fisheye lens I used to try and get as wide an angle as possible. I learned a few things about making stop-motion video in the process, which you can read about at my blog. I hope you enjoy what ended up being a truly remarkable beginning to my day - which couldn't really be captured in video.

Just an excuse to play with my NEW MAC MINI (woop woop woop) and my NEW COPY OF FINAL CUT STUDIO (woop woop woop). Downloads at In this video I crammed in as many different filters and effects as I could. Tried some new ones that I hadn't seen before. This is Final Cut 7 (part of the Final Cut Studio suite) and it came out recently. I'm hoping that Final Cut Express 5 (whenever it comes out, which I suspect is soon) will have similar filters. I also did things like blend layers and stuff, to get some of the effects. Blah blah blah. End title animation made with Motion 4, which I know NOTHING about, but am eager to find out! After that, Meet the Focker's came on - also in Spanish. It was good they played movies, because the landscape was nothing but completely flat Patagonian steppe with and few bushes here and there. There weren't even farm houses - there was literally nothing. A few times we saw some cattle wondering around, but it just made us wonder where on Earth the farm was that they came from - they must have had to walk for miles and miles. So, things were good on the bus until we stopped at a gas station and they told us we had a 10 minute break to get off the bus. I went in and got some ice cream. When I got back on the bus I saw some cops standing outside the door to the bus and one of them was shoving one of the bus drivers. Come to find out, two of the drivers on our bus had gotten in a fist fight! The police just happened to be at the station filling up. An unremarkable but pleasant round, uncut: 1500 Hours and Still Learning Not a "frag video." I'll be hitting 1500 hours as Spy my next session. Not sure how much longer I'll continue to do this, and I felt inspired to share something genuine--just a typical round of pleasant play. Even when I don't perform well, I enjoy the flow of this game. When a rhythm develops, it can be...pretty. Stairstabs get old; that doesn't. Hope you get something out of it if you stick out the 6+ minutes. Thanks for the good times.
