A study by Northeast States Coordinated Air Management (NESCAUM) in 2008 found the EPA test methods for OWBs may under represent real world emissions by a factor of 4. 1 OWB = 3000 - 8000 gas furnaces in pollution (Ct. DEP website). Wood smoke is filled w/dangerous fine particulates (PM 2.5). We all deserve to breath clean air. OWBs are not allowed in the State of Washington. In NYS Gov Paterson is doing nothing to stop this kind of pollution. NYS DEC staff estimate 40000 owb's. It is estimated that by 2010 OWBs could contribute almost 900000 tons of particulate matter. If you're concerned about Clean Air write Gov. Paterson, State Capitol, Albany, NY 12224 and tell him to ban all OWBs. We want the same air rights as citizens of the State of Washington. Why is NYS 20 years behind the times?

Boardgame Design Google Tech Talk December 1, 2009 ABSTRACT Presented by Peter Struijf. Peter Struijf is the designer and publisher of the innovative 4-player boardgame Krakow 1325 AD (2008). The game has two highly novel elements. Firstly, the "game engine" is a trick-taking card game (using special cards). Secondly, each player is a member of a two-player team, but has a secret Identity and plays to become the sole winner through a second scoring mechanism. The game has sold over 1200 copies to date and was awarded for the main Boardgame Award in the Netherlands. Peter will give a 30-minute presentation about his three-year long creative journey, covering the inspiration for and origins of the game, its test and development process, and how the artwork and "story" of the boardgame were merged into one single product. There will be space for questions and discussion afterwards.
