A Trek to Pindari Glacier Directed by Munishwar Gulati, it is about trekking to Pindari Glacier in Kumaon, India. Trekking in India is incomplete if you have not trekked Pindari Glacier. The locals proudly refer to it as the soul of Kumaon. It is one of the most easily accessible of all the Himalayan glaciers and is well within the reach of anyone who wishes to go for a trek. The rewards are many fold; the grandeur of the Himalayas, beautiful mountain flora and fauna, water falls & snowy ranges a if the entire gamut that nature had to offer, is up for the taking.

Nagla Block forest trekking and the "Butterfly Tree".IMGP3451.AVI We, a group of approx 30 trekkers of "BNHS(Bombay Natural History Society)" group trekked through the "Nagla Block Forest" of the "Sanjay Gandhi National Park" in Mumbai on Sunday(10-7-2011).As it was the monsoon season, the forests were lush and green, absolutely dense, an unbelievable existence of a jungle just 2 hours drive from one of the Worlds most populated city's.Trekking through the forest we discovered this beautiful congregation of exotic butterfly's on a leea tree, their favourite source of delicacy food. It had rained in the morning and suddenly the sky had cleared and a bit of sunshine enveloped the dense forests, hence the sudden appearance of this cloud of butterfly's.The forest was infested with mosquitoes,a part of natural forest insects and the only obstacle in discovering pristine and admiring natural beauty for us humans. Hope these forests are preserved as a "WORLD NATURAL HERITAGE MONUMENT" for future generations since rapid human encroachment and population is creating animal and human conflicts , besides gradual degradation of the forest land. Mumbai is the only city in the World to have a natural forest with wild-life within its geographical boundaries and hope the same is preserved.

Snow 50 feet deep buries road to Artist Point -- June 29, 2011 In less than ideal conditions, Washington State Department of Transportation crews trekked up the snow-covered mountainside in a snowcat to measure snow depths over the road to Artist Point on Wednesday, June 29. It was windy, cold, raining and socked in during the scouting trip. "We found snow 50-plus feet deep near the upper parking lot," said Theo Donk, maintenance supervisor. "This is the deepest snow I've seen since the world-record year 1999, when the highway didn't open for the summer." "The restroom in the upper parking lot is nowhere to be seen," said Donk. "Normally the roof is peaking through the snow at this time. We couldn't even reach it with a snow-depth pole. It's buried deep."

Trekking in the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho My first day trekking into the mountain kingdom of Lesotho which is one of the poorest countries in the world. 40% of the population live below the international poverty line of US$1.25/day but you would not be able to tell by how happy and grounded their people are. I was dropped off near the border with South Africa, trekked in 4 hours to a small village, made friends with locals and ended up staying in their round, thatched roof hut for a few days. It was quite an amazing experience playing with my their young children, drinking homemade beer with the village elders, killing/cleaning dinner, farming in the morning with the women, picking spinach from their garden, learning how to cook local cuisine, riding horseback through the mountains (no saddles) and playing soccer with their local village team. This is a quick interview with my friend Kabelo who I stayed with. A sad story how his 3 month old son died and his next child was named after him. Lesotho is a landlocked country and enclave entirely surrounded by the Republic of South Africa. As the highest country in the world it has a minimum national elevation of 4530 feet (1380 meters) above sea level but most of the country's land lies above 6000 feet (1830 meters). It is just over 30000 km2 (11583 sq mi) in size with a population of approximately 2067000. I highly recommend exploring this tiny country and its warm people if in the neighborhood!

Follow our team as they first fly into Lukla (from Kathmandu) then trek to Namche Bazaar. This section of the trip takes 2 days as it's important for acclimatisation purposes to spend a night halfway at Phakding. Watch for the brief but incredible views of Mt. Everest & Nuptse from the ***pit during our flight. Not to mention the brief and not so incredible view of the pilot's yoke (aka 'steering wheel') attached with some red string and cord! Gotta love Nepal. Trek Nepal with Trek Climb Ski: .au

Who Are They? They trekked thousands of miles in searing heat... They crossed the border risking life and limb... They get paid peanuts... They do jobs others refuse to do... Some people back in their own country treat them with little respect... They live crammed together in substandard conditions... They rarely see their families... They have to learn a foreign language and culture... They recognize only one flag and one flag only...

Another weekend, I explored Delhi. And the last weekend, I got a chance to take the local train from Faridabad to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal and then take another local train to Jaipur, where I saw the Amber Fort.
Everest Trekking Porter's Documentary This documentary was made in the spring of 2005 when Peter and I were in high school. We trekked to Everest Base Camp with a map as our guide and shot all these videos with one handycam and two batteries. So, please bear the quality of the video. Our journey began as we flew to Lukla from the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu and reached the Everest Base Camp in seven days. During our trek, we reached the highest altitude of 5565 meters (Kalapathar mountain). This was one of the most amazing experiences in my life so far. Most importantly, we were extremely humbled and touched by the people we met along the way and especially the trekking porters, who carry not only the trekkers' foods and their supplies, but the emotional burden of a child, a parent that stays hidden underneath their warm smiles. It is our hope through this documentary, we can at least generate some awareness about the porters and hope that if you ever decide to go on a trek, you will not only reward them monetarily but respect their trade and spend some time getting to know these amazing individuals.

They climbed from 3000m to 5000m, struggled across bolder fields, steep shale ridges and deep crevasses to earn every penny of the £10000+ raised for the foundation, and in particular the remote Baleygon School in northern Pakistan. Thank you to all those who donated so generously. For more information on trekking in Pakistan with Wild Frontiers visit
