SCOTT Genius Traction Control The rear shock on the Genius is truly unique. Rather than controlling the rear suspension by compressing a piston into the shock body, the Genius Equalizer 2 extends when a force is applied to the rear wheel; its a pull shock. Co-developed with DT Swiss, the Equalizer 2 has three distinct modes, and you can choose your attitude from the bar-mounted Trac Loc system. Heading down youll likely want all 150 mills but you on the way up you may want to either lock things up or put it in Traction Mode with 95 mm of travel and each setting is available with a flick of your left thumb.

Old Otis Traction elevator @ Rush Rhees Library University of Rochester NY from 1930 This elevator is in excellent condition for its age. A BEAUTIFUL example of a well preserved historic otis elevator. Originally installed in 1930 the interior button panel MIGHT have been upgraded at some point due to the fact that back in the 1930s the emergency button simply had "alarm" or "A" on the button. the "Emerg Call" came about in the early 60s i believe. however this style (small bakelite buttons) fixture has been around since the turn of the century. This elevator is of much higher quality than a modern one.

Otis Traction Scenic Elevator at Marriott Marquis Atlanta These elevators are famous for being some of the most thrilling in the world. This building, completed in 1985, was designed by Atlanta Architect John Portman, who designed the Westin Peachtree Plaza, SunTrust Plaza, Peachtree Center, Marriott Marquis New York, and America's Mart Atlanta. The Atrium runs the length of the building, and was the tallest (and by some conflicting accounts with the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, the largest) in the world until the Burj Al-Arab was completed in Dubai. There is nothing like going 5 m/s while flying by floor landings. This is really an impressive show of Otis's engineering, even by today's standards. They were some of the first elevators in the world to be installed with weight sensors, which would put an elevator in express mode if it were full (since it's dumb for it to stop for others just to start up again with the same amount of passengers). These were also some of the first with voice announcements, a feature introduced with the Elevonic 401 back in 1981. This building has recently undergone, along with the other Marriott Marquis in New York, many renovations. Nevertheless, this building's interior is still astounding, despite it being almost 25 years old. The interior, along with the elevators, is a true masterpiece. Ford 8.8" rear end Traction-Lok clutch setups I have finished the second volume in a two volume series on "Swapping a 5.0L engine into a Fox body Ford". This is a short clip from the chassis setup chapter in volume one. Here I'm showing the Traction-Lok clutch pack removed from the TBird. I show how to measure pack clearance without using the special Ford clutch measurement tool. I also tell how Ford's clutch design has changed since the 80"s and warn against adding fibers to increase clutch torque. Complete 8.8" rear end repair for the iron and alloy versions of this rear as well as the 9.75" is detailed in the "How To Repair the Ford 8.8" Axle" DVD. This is one of nine titles in the BadShoe Productions video series. The 5.0L engine swap DVD volume one and two is now for sale. See my web site for details on this video as well as the other BadShoe titles.

1907 Avery steam traction engine Running a Thresher 1907 Avery 22 hp "Contractors Special" This "Contractors Special" Avery steam traction engine was built in 1907. It is a 22 horsepower, 2 cylinder undermounted engine. It is owned by descendants of Jerome DeBacker. This engine was used around Mead, Co. until 1915 when it was purchased by Jerome DeBacker for use in threshing and plowing in the Boulder area. It was in considerable disrepair when purchased. Jerome completed many mechanical repairs before putting the engine in service. He also added some touches of his own including a Union Pacific bell and several whistles. After repairs, it was used for threshing with an Avery 36 x 60 in. "Yellow Fellow" wooden separator around the East Boulder area until being retired around 1945. It was also used for plowing in the Bennett, Co. area, pulling a 12 bottom 14 inch plow. Jerome always regretted the fact that the plow was cut up for scrap during the war. We still have the separator. It was last used on the Stuart Anderson farm in 1976 to thresh wheat. During its time the Avery also ran a sawmill, pulled a scarifier for state road work, and provided steam for a chemical company near Valmont Butte. In 1955 a group of steam enthusiasts in the Boulder- Denver area convinced Jerome to bring the engine out of retirement. It was cleaned up and minor repairs were made to get the engine operational. The boiler was retubed in 1957. In 1959 the lugs were removed from drive wheels and it was driven into Boulder for the Colorado Centennial ...

Montgomery Glass Traction Elevator @ Raleigh Durham Airport A terminal Parking Deck RDU Airport, NC This is a Montgomery Traction elevator. a few things about this elevator. 1 STRANGE placement of buttons (The alarm bell is where the Door Close button is supposed to be as you can hear I accidentally rang it) The 7 button did not work on one side. Had to press it on the other side to get it to move. the elevators at the other side were schindler (will be uploaded tomorrow) with a cool touch sensor button and these fixtures and door hardware are completely different, however the overall design of the cab is similar.

Crosby Nash BBC - Traction In The Rain (5 of 5) These videos are from a September 11 1970 half hour television performance Graham and David did for the BBC. It was right after CSNY had finished their famous...or infamous... four way street summer tour. with stories of epic melt downs and cosmic feedings between them all, the all star endeavor which had only began two years prior had all but imploded on itself. Fortunately, all of the guys didn't abandon their relationships all together. Neil recruited Stephen, David, and Graham for backing vocals on After the Gold Rush and Harvest. Crosby invited, among other amazing musicians, Nash, and Young to sing and play on his consummate album If I Could Only Remember My Name. (Interestingly, of all the musicians David invited to play on his album: Nash, Young, Jerry Garcia,Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart,Bill Kreutzmann, Jorma Kaukonen, Joni Mitchell, Grace Slick, David Freiberg, Paul Kantner, Jack Casady, Gregg Rolie, and Michael Shrieve...missing was Stephen Stills) Of all the members of CSNY David and Graham's relationship seemed to be the one that stayed most friendly. In these videos you can really see how jovial and genuinely humorous they were with each other and with their audience. not to mention their majestic vocal blending. (the two part harmonies, which sound like five part, on Guinnevere and Song With no Words are particularly mind blowing) If you dig this flavor of Crosby and Nash i would recommend finding a copy of their 10/10/1971 live recording Another Stoney Evening ...
