Head Tracking for iPhone: Glasses-Free 3D Display Head-Coupled Perspective on Mobile Devices. We track the head of the user with the front facing camera in order to create a glasses-free monocular 3D display. Such spatially-aware mobile display enables to improve the possibilities of interaction. It does not use the accelerometers and relies only on the front camera. The demo with the targets has been inspired by the work of Johnny Lee ( youtu.be ) with a Wii remote. MovieReshape: Tracking and Reshaping of Humans in Videos www.mpi- We present a system for quick and easy manipulation of the body shape and proportions of a human actor in arbitrary video footage. The approach is based on a morphable model of 3D human shape and pose that was learned from laser scans of real people. The algorithm commences by spatio-temporally fitting the pose and shape of this model to the actor in either single-view or multi-view video footage. Once the model has been fitted, semantically meaningful attributes of body shape, such as height, weight or waist girth, can be interactively modified by the user. The changed proportions of the virtual human model are then applied to the actor in all video frames by performing an image-based warping. By this means, we can now conveniently perform spatio-temporal reshaping of human actors in video footage which we show on a variety of video sequences.
iPhone Tracking Discussion Pete Warden and Alasdair Allan talking about how they discovered the existence of the tracking database on the iPhone, and what it might mean. Also how they went about exploring and visualising the data once they knew it was there, and show how it could be used to track individuals movements over time.

OpenNI-compliant real time skeleton tracking by PrimeSense a video one of our guys made when the skeleton started working, it's a good way to show both registration between the RGB & Depth data and the quality of the skeleton that the OpenNI 1.0 compliant middleware enables. In this video we were using as a sensor the PSDK 5.0 from PrimeSense which is also OpenNI 1.0 compliant visit for more details on OpenNI and how to get compliant middleware and HW.
Chicken Head Tracking - Pennywhistle Productions Pennywhistle Productions Chickens have a great ability to keep their heads stable. Our bodies use a gyro-like mechanism in our ears which has 3 mutually orthogonal inertial measurement devices. Modern motion processors use something called an Inertial Measurment Unit (IMU). These devices provide movement data which can be used to compensate for the movement. Chickens apparently have the same type mechanism only with a higher update rate. *Update* The chickens were eaten by the family dog. WHOOPS! :( *Update #2* Sis and I are shot a music video. If you're interested search for "Briley brand new key" *Update #3* Currently under non-exclusive license to be played on Fuji-TV in Japan. Ha Ha. Who would have thought? *Update #4* July 10th, 2009 1 MILLION HITS Woo Hoo!

Microsoft Access: Tracking Student Attendance, Append Query In this Microsoft Access tutorial, I will show you how to use an Append Query to track student attendance in classes. We'll create a couple of tables and a form, then use an Append Query to transfer the data from our student table to our attendance history table. I'll also throw in a little VBA code just to spice things up.

Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the WiiRemote Using the infrared camera in the Wii remote and a head mounted sensor bar (two IR LEDs), you can accurately track the location of your head and render view dependent images on the screen. This effectively transforms your display into a portal to a virtual environment. The display properly reacts to head and body movement as if it were a real window creating a realistic illusion of depth and space. By Johnny Chung Lee, Carnegie Mellon University. Breaking News - Opening Tracking Shot The 7 minute opening tracking shot of the Hong Kong satirical actionfilm Breaking News by Johnnie To. Note: The video is lacking subtitles but basically what happens is that a special investigation team is observing a group of bankrobbers who are about to pull a heist. When the robbers want to leave some regular cops appear and start talking to the robbers about breaking some traffic law. The investigation team creates a diversion to get the attention of the cops, but one of the cops asks the robbers about a bag in their car and all hell breaks loose.
Motion Tracking Motion tracking is an affordable option even in these tough financial times. In the past Chroma or green screen technology was something reserved only for big-budget Hollywood production houses who could afford to use it, but with recent advances in technology, Chroma has now become cheaper and more accessible than ever before. Now almost any production company that has a green wall and the right lighting can make use of this to film a moving person and later replace the green background with a real or computer generated environment without having to bring in costly optical motion devices. Although chroma has opened up a wealth of opportunities for production companies it has, however, had its limitations as until recently it was imperative that the camera remain still throughout the process. When the green screen was replaced with another background it was nearly impossible to manually adjust the environment in relation to the person in the foreground for a realistic result if the camera was moving. Understanding the limitations of this medium, we have found a way to work around this to create moving shots that look realistic. We place tracking points in the Chroma studio and once the footage is captured, it is taken through an application where a motion algorithm is calculated. In post-production when the green is replaced with the 3D environment, the computer reads these algorithms and makes calculations in reference to the tracking points to create an environment that ...
