Matchless Independence demo - Heavy rock tones with a PRS custom 24 The Independence 35 is the first 35 watt 3 channel guitar amplifier in Matchless history! In addition to the signature backlit nameplate, the three channels light up red, white, and blue. Channel one (blue) is powered by one 12AX7 with a volume and tone control. Channel two (white) is powered by one 12AX7 and will provide ample chunk and high-gain lead. Channel three (red) is all about fire. The master volume control is by-passable and features a cut control to thicken up and shave the highs. The power section of the Independence starts with a 5AR4 rectifier tube and the 35 watt output is powered by two EL34s, which are cathode self biasing. How To Draw - Creating Flesh Tones in Pastels This is a quick tutorial on how to create a basic flesh tone using four colors: * Brown * Red * Blue * White Originally this video was going to just be a private video for one of my good YouTube friends to help him learn how to make a general flesh tone, but then I figured no guts, no glory - I might as well put it up for all in case it helps someone else along the way. (So please forgive the lack of slick editing and the jumbled narration). Keep in mind that everyone has their own style and preference when it comes to how they approach their art and personal techniques. As far as portraits and creating flesh tones, my preference happens to be that I prefer to make my own using a combination of colors rather than relying on a flesh colored pastel sticks. (So no offense to those that prefer the flesh colored pastels, it's just not my own personal thing). The technique shown in this video is just for a very generic starting base to build off of. Everyone's skin tones are different based on nationality, lighting, reflections and so forth, so your mileage may vary considerably on these ingredients. Best method is a bit of trial and error, and training yourself to see beyond what you expect to be there, but rather what IS there. I have a couple cool little techniques that I will share later (if you want) on how to pick out different shades from a picture, I just simply ran out of time to show anything more than what I could squeeze into under 10 minutes. Before you start laying out cash for pedals and pricey amps, be sure you know all the tonal variations available using just your hands and your guitar's onboard electronics. In this video tutorial, I'll show you how you can start to get an idea of how broadly you can vary your sound depending on how you set your pickups, tone pots, and volume. For example, you can change between a gainy sound a clean sound just by using your volume knob. You may also notice that the volume on 10 is a lot brighter than the volume on 6 -- so, in the volume pot alone you've got the potential for some significant treble/bass variation. For me, the volume knob is a lot more usable and flexible than dealing with master/gain controls or dual-channel amps. Watch the video below to learn how pickup selectors, volume, tone and picking technique can open up the tonal possibilities on your guitar. Just these few controls give way to so many tonal variations. These ideas are demoed here using my Strat, but the same approaches can be used to similar effect on any electric guitar. Tone King Imperial These are the sweet sounds of the Tone King Imperial combo, the amp that put Tone King on the map with it's wealth of raw vintage tones and cool features. The Tone King Imperial's Rhythm Channel was designed for sparkling clean tones and mellow overdrive, and is similar in voicing to a blackface Princeton or Deluxe. The lead channel is more complex, with a unique preamp design that drives the output stage of the amp to create optimal tube saturation and compression as the volume knob is turned up. It's mid-bite control changes the character of this channel in drastic fashion, going from vintage tweed to early Marshall midrange crunch as you turn the knob clockwise.
