Motorola Xoom Tablet with Android Honeycomb This is the year of the Android tablet and leading the pack is Motorola's Xoom. It will be the first tablet to run Android 3.0 Honeycomb, the version of Android built specifically for tablets. The details on Honeycomb are still light, but we know that the user experience has been improved for features such as widgets, multi-tasking and browsing. And we saw some of those improvement during our demo of the Motorola Xoom. The Xoom browser supports multiple tabs, videos in the browser window and incognito mode, which hides your browsing history. Google Books comes standard, and your picks from its library of 3 million books is synced to your Google account. Google Maps also gets an update with enhanced gesture control and faster rendering, thanks to the Xoom's fast processor. Speaking of the processor, the Xoom's is best in class, an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor running at 1 GHz. It has 1GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, plus microSD support for up to an additional 32GB. There's a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display (1280x800), which has the same 16:9 aspect ratio as an HDTV so no bars. It can also play 1080p video through its HDMI output to watch on your TV. Rounding out the package. the Xoom has a front-facing 2MP camera for video chats over Wi-Fi or 3G/4G LTE, as well as a rear-facing 5MP camera that captures video in 720p HD. It features a built-in gyroscope, e-compass, accelerometer and adaptive lighting for new types of applications. And in a ...

iPad 2 in the works; tablets take over America www.nma.tv Reports suggest Apple is working on a second version of its iPad. The updated device would include a camera for video conferencing and better memory and graphics. The tablet industry is evolving everyday. Motorola will soon release the Xoom, which will run the Android operating system. Content is evolving too; Rupert Murdoch recently launched The Daily, the first iPad-only newspaper. But what are these new devices costing our culture? Many people are trading real world experiences The cost is literal, too. An 8-year-old Maryland girl racked up a $1400 iTunes bill playing the game Smurfs' Village on her mom's iPad. Such is the consequence when parents use gadgets as babysitters. The technology is being overly-embraced by teachers as well, as Georgia is looking into providing each student in the state with an iPad. Many fear how constant exposure to personal media will affect our children. Even so, tablet technology is here to stay. Is this just the next step in human evolution?

ExoPC Windows 7 Tablet with Custom UI Hands on At Computex10 I never thought that I would consider a Windows Tablet in my life, but the ExoPC has made me rethink my hardline position on Windows Tablets. It isn't the hardware or even the build of the tablet that makes us take note its the capacitive touch screen and custom UI. It doesn't hurt that the device will run multiple applications including 720p HD playback. ExoPC tablet to ship with Broadcom Crystal HD video accelerator which makes sense. I am even willing to over look the tragic battery life of roughly 5 hours, it was interesting to find out why ExoPC went with the N450 over Menlow which was because the N450 supports higher screen resolutions. We would like to see the battery life improve, so since this is a key feature for me, the price point of $599 seems a bit steep, I'd pay $400-$450, maybe $500 for this tablet, but 6 is just far too high for such battery life. But hey it is all about what you are happy with and if you are looking for a device that will port windows applications, then this is you tablet!
