Disney's Fantasia 2000 - Firebird Suite Igor Stravinsky's Firebird Suite - 1919 Version. The story of a spring Sprite and her companion Elk. After a long winter she restores the life to the forest but accidentally awakes the fiery spirit of destruction (the namesake Firebird of the piece) in a nearby volcano. The Firebird proceeds in destroying the forest and seemingly the sprite. She is restored to life however after the destruction and the forest life is reborn with her after some encouraging from the Elk. The story is considered an exercise in the theme of life-death-rebirth deities. The animation is based on the May 18th, 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens. The final tableau is a near ***ogue of the view of the volcano's crater from "Windy Ridge."

Suite For Ma Dukes - Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and a 40 piece orchestra Live @ The Luckman There was magic brewing on the campus of Cal State Los Angeles ton February 22nd the kind that puts a love spell on everyone who walks into its path. Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and his 40-piece orchestra managed to set the entire Luckman Fine Arts Plaza afloat on Sunday night with Timeless: Suite for Ma Dukes, their gorgeous re-imagining of J Dillas best known works. Surprise guests filtered in throughout the night, including Common, Talib Kweli andPosdnuous from De la Soul. Dillas inspiring mother was a beacon throughout the performance, small in stature but mighty in spirit. If you listen closely to the music, the possibilities are endless Ma Dukes (February 22nd, 2009.) The energy onstage was infectious, and the audience was just as emotionally invested in the performance as the musicians. One could feel the grand swoops and shimmering intricacies of the music just by the motion of Atwood-Fergusons hands. When Dwele came out to do Angel, he had to stand back in awe for several moments to take in the beauty of what he was about to sing over. In true Dilla fashion, one classic begets another, and we got to see that progression take place right before our eyes.Diana Moreira led us through the bossa nova lilt of Stan Getz and Luiz Bonfas Saudade Vem Correndo,containing the famous hook Dilla sampled into the Pharcydes Runnin. The Suite Life On Deck Episode 1 [Part 1] "The Suite Life Sets Sail" London, Zack, Cody and Mr. Moseby set sail on the SS Tipton for their semester at sea. London convinces her roomate to leave the ship so she can have a room to herself. Cody finds himself sharing a room with Woody, who is very messy,and has gas. Zack shares a room with Bailey, who is a neat freak. Nobody knows that Bailey is a girl who disguised herself as a boy in order to gain a position on the ship after she found that there were no more vacancies for girls. Zack and Cody agree to switch roommates, but Zack changes his mind after he finds out that Bailey is a girl. After everyone else eventually finds this out Bailey is allowed to stay, filling the position vacated by London's ex-roommate, and Bailey becomes London's new roommate. This is the last straw for London and she escapes to Parrot Island via helicopter
