  • Perfectly Lonely - John Mayer (BATTLE STUDIES ALBUM VERSION HQ) ALBUM ON ITUNES! Lyrics: Had a little love, but I spread it thin Falling in her arms and out again Made a bad name for my game around town Tore up my heart, and shut it down Nothing to do Nowhere to be A simple little kind of free Nothing to do No one but me And that's all I need I'm perfectly lonely I'm perfectly lonely I'm perfectly lonely (Yeah) 'Cause I don't belong to anyone Nobody belongs to me I see friends around from time to time When their ladies let them slip away And when they ask me how I'm doing with mine This is always what I say Nothing to do Nowhere to be A simple little kind of free Nothing to do No one to be Is it really hard to see Why I'm perfectly lonely I'm perfectly lonely I'm perfectly lonely I'm perfectly lonely (Yeah) 'Cause I don't belong to anyone Nobody belongs to me And this is not to say There never comes a day I'll take my chances and start again And when I look behind On all my younger times I have to thank the wrongs that led me to a love so strong I'm perfectly lonely I'm perfectly lonely I'm perfectly lonely (Yeah) 'Cause I don't belong to anyone Nobody belongs to me (It's the way, it's the way, it's the way that I want it)
  • Decomposition of Baby Pigs Dr. Jerry Payne's time lapse movie of the decomposition of a baby pig. For Dr. Payne's account of his work and how he got the dead piglets see The technique of time-lapse photography is employed to illustrate the rapid removal of carrion (4 days reduced to approximately 6 minutes). The film demonstrates the sequence of tissue destruction and the role of insects in the ultimate dismemberment of the pig carcass and soil movement. The pink and purple beads were added to show the intense activities of the insects in moving the carcass and soil. Payne writes..."My study was the first "detailed" study of succession in animal decomposition and the first with the pig as the model. The significance of the pig is that it closely approximates the human body (skin, body hair, size etc.) so the data generated could be used in modern forensic science to approximate the time of human deaths. At that time it was simply not possibly (moral/ethical/legal concerns) to perform decompositon studies with human corpses, I know because I tried and was denied. Even so there were many instances where some concerned person buried my research pigs." The pigs used in the experiment were dead when Jerry Payne picked them up from local farmers. Mama pigs (sows) often lay down on their tiny piglets and crush them. This was very common on small farms and led to the invention and deployment of farrowing pens(birthing pens) where the sow is contained and the piglets have a heated space ...

Researchers found a 7 percent energy increase in brain tissue closest to the cell phone's antenna when subjects used a phone for 50 minutes. While that's several times less activity than visual brain regions show during an engaging movie, the study's co-author Dardo Tomasi says, "[I]t's still unnatural. Nature didn't prepare our brains for this." Unlike previous studies that suggested a link between cell phone radiation and cancer, the new study doesn't conclude whether these effects are positive or negative. But it's the first to show that brain tissue is activated by exposure to cell phone radio frequencies.

  • Study Links Diet Soda to Strokes Transcript by BY ALLIE SPILLYARDS You're watching multisource health news ***ysis from Newsy. Millions of Americans reach for one every day- but a new study has a lot of people asking- just how dangerous is diet soda? "Americans drink nearly 4.2 billion gallons of diet soda per year. That's nearly a third of all soda consumed in this country." The Miami University study followed 2500 New Yorkers for nine years. It found those who drank diet soda had a 48% higher risk of suffering a stroke. Those results have fizzed up a lot of controversy. Fox News medical contributor Dr. Marc Siegel explains why. DR. MARC SIEGEL "I have to tell you, this shows the difference between the kind of studies we do. The first one I talked about is incredibly scientific. This one is just an eye brow raiser. You know why? It's a survey." NBC'S Tom Costello went further to explain the study's flaws. TOM COSTELLO: "It's important to note that this study was not peer reviewed which is the most rigorous type of scrutiny given medical studies and it's not clear whether diet soda drinkers have something else in common that could be a contributor." But ABC's chief health correspondent Richard Besser says the study was forced into the spotlight. He blames the media for all the hype. RICHARD BESSER: "National meetings are different than what's published in a journal. A meeting is a place for scientists to talk about things, to talk about studies that are in the works. But what I'm finding ...
