  • ***ogsat & Gommoral - Spectroscope Autark aa13 ***ogsat & Gommoral Solitons EP videos by ***ogsat (uli kühn) music by gommoral (michael kuttner) ***ogsat & Gommoral feature Autark's first video release. By complex algorithms the visuals melt into the music: While in „Solitons" the volume amplitudes trigger the motions of preselected images, in „Spectrometer" the waveforms of the single tracks are positioned in space. In „Spectroscope" six separate audio tracks are ***ysed by a spectroscope, which results in six overlapping pictures generating a single video. By determining the visualised shape, the sound almost turns into a bodily experience. free download: autark-

  • street lamp spectrum using normal CD Hi, this is street lamp light comming through my window at night. i adjusted window shutter so that light becomes similar to slit ie thin line of light. High Popwer Sodium Vapour lamp is used as street lamp in our area in india. Spectrum is when light get difracted usnig grating but normal scientific gratings are costly and requires proper setup. here i used normal CD as grating by holding CD against wall and allowing narrow line of light to fall on CD surface such that it splits the light into colors by which it is actually created. notice the two bright yellow lines very close to each other they are peculiar to sodium vapour lamp. you can experiment with more light sources such as mercury lamp, flouroscent lamp, candle, sunlight etc. to get their respective spectrum. i know this is not scientific method but once you know how to use CD to diffract light it will be enjoyable as well as an self learning experiance. enjoy

  • A spectroscope made from Galileo's telescopes Major discoveries in Astronomy come from more than just the telescope! Adding another telescope and or replacing one or two parts to a telescope gives us the spectroscope. a spectrum ***yzer. This important instrument gives us the chemical composition the strength of the electric and magnetic fields of our sun and motion of universe, Its given us the famous Hubble constant. Its given us the quantum mechanical explanation of atoms and molecules and how they generate and absorb light, Its given us Lasers chemical ***ysis and helped to fill the periodic table with many of its of elements. Remember however that the first step started with the TELESCOPE and Galileo's improvement of it. With it he helped us understand that man was not at the center of everything. When the job is finished It may also tell us through chemical and size ***ysis us that we may not be the only living thing out there as well.

Educators may obtain materials for free from the Stanford Solar Center at solar-center.stanford.edu/teachers/. Note that some of the colors shown by the spectroscope are altered by the video camera, but the narrator explains what would be seen in an actual demonstration. • NC Science Olympiad: Using a Spectroscope A simple spectroscope, light enters through the slit (diffraction grating) in the end of the tube and separates the light into its visible spectrum. Placing colored filters over the end changes the spectrum that is able to enter the tube. For more information on this event or to make your own spectroscope, visit:
  • Spectroscope Light emission seen through a spectroscope. White light, neon, and hydrogen light each shows different spectrum.
  • Spectroscope Optoform combines form and function together to create simple to advanced opto-mechanical assemblies that have the final look of a product. This saves considerable costs in creating new products for the optical industry. Applications include: Fiber optics instruments, telescopes, microscopes, interferometers, spectrometers, autocollimators, etc. Opto-mechanical kits are also available with selected components from the entire system with over 900 parts.
  • homemade spectroscope homemade spectroscope out of an 8 in. paper tube (like a paper towel roll), a circle cut out of an old CD with the film removed (using tape), and a black piece of construction paper with a 1 mm slit on the other end. Tape CD piece to one side of tube. Look at a light source through CD side and rotate the slit side until the spectrum is spread out (slit is parallel to recorded lines of CD). Tape slit side to tube. Try different light sources (conventional bulb, florescent, halogen, UV, LED, LCD, chemicals that fluoresce under UV -- Cadmium Selenate).

Jeffrey Soreff November 8 2008 The explanation of the mechanism of smell seems somewhat implausible, but, yes, there are a variety of ways one could make a nanoscale IR spectrometer. Another option would be to look for resonant energy transfer, not between a tunnelling electron, but between a vibrational excitation in another molecule and the test molecule. One skeptical note: I've handled heavy water, and never noticed an odor. If this theory is right, it should smell very different from the odorless background of normal water. One application note: If the theory is right, there should be a huge range of deuterated compounds with distinct smells... and there would be a wide choice of very safe ones. Tom Kraemer November 7 2008 What a wonderful explanation of scent and our sense of smell. Thank you for a profound insight. You've changed my understanding of my formerly least appreciated sense! Rylan Grayston November 7 2008 I think some homeopathic practitioners are running into a very similar situation as you. In that they get results that they cannot fully explain the workings of. In the past I often found myself scoffing at the explanations I have heard. The use of words ...
