Recording Southern with Apogee ONE and GiO After serendipitously meeting Apogee rep Stephen Bright while street performing in Belfast, Ireland, Southern's raw talent and autonomy made the musical trio obvious candidates for Apogee's ONE and GiO. Stephen shortly after introduced them to ONE, which they immediately became familiar with while using it to record demos and new material for their website. Recently, the members of Southern flew to Los Angeles, visited Apogee's headquarters and spent the afternoon capturing on video the steps of recording world-class audio using ONE's internal microphone and GiO's MIDI controller function and 1/4 inch guitar input for maximum efficiency. In this video, siblings Thom and Lucy Southern join their friend and band-member Jonny Lee on percussion to demonstrate just how easy it is to record an entire song with Apogee. The Law of Attraction "We all need permission for whatever it is we want to do, especially when it comes to money, especially to be rich," says Madeleine Kay, founder of The Living Serendipitously Institute and Living Serendipitously Enterprises, and best-selling author of the book Serendipity-The Law of Attraction In Action: How to Get Rich (or anything else you want) in 6 Really Easy Steps. The problem is that the dream of pursuing wealth seems to be something reserved only for fairytales and the extremely lucky. By following these three proactive steps, you can be on your way to achieving your dreams of an affluent life. ~*~Admit Your Dreams~*~ With labels like "filthy rich" and "obscenely wealthy", it is no wonder you may not want to be rich. After all, who wants to be obscene or filthy? Yet, wealth can bring prosperity and happiness to those who achieve yet. If you are seeking your chance at riches, the first step is to admit to yourself that your dreams exist, and that you do in fact desire to become wealthier. ~*~Accept Your Dreams~*~ After admitting your dreams exist, the next step is accepting them. It is perfectly okay for you to want to become wealthy, and your life will improve dramatically as a result. The only permission you need to have and pursue your dreams is from yourself. It does not make you fickle or materialistic to pursue a more successful life. By accepting that there is nothing wrong with having your dreams, you give yourself permission to achieve them. ~*~Pursue Your ...

A Jazz Etude - Serendipitously Surreal In this serendipitously surreal short "A Jazz Etude," tap dance extrordinaire Billy Burt dances up a storm in top hat, tuxedo tail and cane. Is he floating? And that screwy soundtrack ... a mishmash of 'Flight of the Bumblebee,' ragtime fills, and 1930's jazz cliches, is remeniscent of Carl Stalling or Raymond Scott. Still, I doubt they ever arranged any composition to include a single piano accompanied by 4 double-basses and tap dancer. See more at:

To disclose two of many- we (serendipitously) met a former studio head at the DGA at an event; turned out that he was running Paramount when they were retaining their rights to the novella in the late 80's AND that Par had ditched an early 90's re-make w Meg Ryan and Woody Harrelson (although he's a great actor, we personally don't think he'd have been right for this role-not even close). Months earlier, needing an orange Tabby for our trailer, we ran into one on a neighborhood sidewalk in Woodland Hills, about a mile away from our house, on our daily physiospiritual exercises..the cat appeared to want to follow us home- was it a stray? Flobots - Handlebars (ASL) I might re-do the song. This vid was supposed to just be me getting some ideas out of my head onto tape so I wouldn't forget. I was going to improve on it when I had a minute, but I kinda like how it serendipitously came together the first time. You'll notice I'm playing with concepts in my head, that process slows down my production at times (ie concept for + nuclear power vs. - nuclear warfare). Regardless, this is an incredibly deep, multi-layered song with a lot of hidden, historical, allegoric lyrics - I hope you'll enjoy the interpretation, cheers. lml/

TR Cutting School -Shingo Sato in Action TR Master class at London Central Saint Martins 10/11/2010London (Filmed by Julian Roberts) TR technique is a more intuitive, organic design process than the conventional +1/-1 mathematical based pattern cutting systems you may be used to. TR technique allows through trial and error, the discovery of chanced upon happy mistakes. By trying to figure out tricky design combinations, or by alternating your vantage points you can serendipitously arrive at unforeseen creative solutions or even more Avant Garde destinations than were originally foreseen. Sometimes you might completely mess up and sometimes these mistakes will be a much better end result than what you were hoping to achieve; they may very well replace your initial idea, becoming the new unforeseen outcome to your trials. Perhaps you might set out to challenge conventional rules further and set yourself many more goals and trials! Do not assume your first toile is the only outcome when you first try out the TR concept, as many more prototypes could become promising solutions. These prototypes could also become potential sources of inspiration setting you off in other inquisitive directions. The aim really is to experiment and base your research on the most promising and appropriate prototypes that are relevant to your initial project brief. Shingo Sato
