Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Explains the Fuel Rail Pressure OBD-2 Scanner Parameter. The fuel rail pressure sensor is used by the ECM to control the fuel pump motor speed. In an effort to protect the fuel lump electric motor, a fuel rail pressure sensor and software modules are employed. At slower or cruising speeds there's little need for large fuel consumption, so the fuel pump voltage and speed are reduced. The end result is a FP that lasts longer. See it here; how it works and how to test it. (note: Weallow all schools and training institutions to use our software free of charge, so long as it is not sold to others. CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner Introducing the ORIGINAL CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner. Stop using aggressive chemicals to clean sensitive MAF sensors! If you've got a dirty mass air flow sensor your car isn't driving to its full potential. Pollen, dust particles and soot can build up and burn onto MAF sensor hot-wires causing incorret measurements of air flow and mass. In most cases the air/fuel ratio will run rich with fuel resulting in sputtering, hard-starting, stalling, excess emissions, wasted fuel, power loss and even automatic transmission shifting problems. Oil can also build up on the wires, especially from over-oiled reusable air filter. Oil travels directly from the air filter onto the MAF hot-wires causing faulty read-outs. With no arternative many technicians and DIY'ers are using aggressive chemicals like brake, carburetor and air-intake cleaners to clean fragile MAF hot-wires and housings. These chemicals can cause serious and expensive damage to sensitive equipment, especially plastic. Finally, the right product for the job! CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner safely and easily cleans the MAF hot-wires and electrical components without damage to the wires or plastic housing. The whole job should take less than 10 minutes! Safely Cleans & Protects MAF Sensors PLASTIC SAFE & Leaves No Residue Increases Horsepower Decreases Hesitation & Pinging Improves Fuel Economy & MPG Reduces Rough Idle Part number 5110 Ask your sales rep for more details today.

LEDs as sensors! This project uses very simple off-the-shelf high-brightness red LEDs. The theory is that each and every LED (even the standard ones) act as capacitors when it's connected backwards, and the speed at which it discharges depends by the light it "sees". Therefore, timing the discharge one can calculate how much light was there in the first place. A quicker way is to simply calculate the voltage drop provided by the LED when it's disconnected, which is what I am doing. The two bright LEDs are alternating between forward bias (emitting), reverse bias (charging) and high impedance (discharging). The ADC is triggered shortly after putting them into hi-Z mode, and uses a 1.5 V reference generated by an LM317. MCU: ATmega8 running at 8 MHz internal oscillator); binary size: 534 bytes.

Digital SLR sensors's Explained There are a few different sensor sizes out there today. You have Full Frame and Cropped Sensors and now Four Thirds which I did not speak about in this video. On the Nikon end you have FX and DX. FX is a full frame sensor based on a 35mm size and DX is a cropped sensor based on a 24mm or APS size. There are advantages and perceived disadvantages to both. With Full Frame you get much better Hi-ISO capability but it is much more expensive. DX is a small sensor but makes your longer lenses act like they have more power. You multiply any lens you put on the camera by 1.5X to determine its 35mm equivalent. The downside is you need to purchase special ultra wide lenses to capture really wide angle images on DX. Another disadvantage to DX is you will not want to use those lenses on a Full Frame camera. So it becomes a dilemma on weather not to purchase a lot of DX lenses or not. On the Canon side you have three sensor sizes. Full Frame, 1.3x magnification in their sports cameras and APS-C which is 1.6x magnification. On the canon side. Any lens that you place on the APS-C sensor you will multiply by 1.6x to get the 35mm equivalent. As in the Nikon the larger the sensor the better the Hi-ISO capability the camera will be. Unlike Nikon Canon utilizes a 1.3x cropped sensor int heir high end sports camera. Sports photographers like having their longer glass have more reach. The cameras that have Full Frame sensors will be more expensive because they are more ...

Sensor Fusion on Android Devices: A Revolution in Motion Processing Google Tech Talk August 2, 2010 ABSTRACT Presented by David Sachs. Gyroscopes, accelerometers, and compasses are increasingly prevalent in mainstream consumer electronics. Applications of these sensors include user interface, augmented reality, gaming, image stabilization, and navigation. This talk will demonstrate how all three sensor types work separately and in conjunction on a modified Android handset running a modified sensor API, then explain how algorithms are used to enable a multitude of applications. Application developers who wish to make sense of rotational motion must master Euler angles, rotation matrices, and quaternions. Under the hood, sensor fusion algorithms must be used in order to create responsive, accurate, and low noise descriptions of motion. Reducing sensing errors involves compensating for temperature changes, magnetic disturbances, and sharp accelerations. Some of these algorithms must run at a very high rate and with very precise timing, which makes them difficult to implement within low-power real-time operating systems. Within Android specifically, this involves modifying the sensor manager, introducing new APIs, and partitioning motion processing tasks. David Sachs began developing motion processing systems as a graduate student at the MIT Media Lab. His research there led him to InvenSense, where he continues this work with MEMS inertial sensors used in products such as the Nintendo Wii Motion Plus. David's designs incorporate gyroscopes ...

How to replace the O2 Sensor I show you how to replace your O2 Sensor. This is being performed on a 1997 Chevy Tahoe. Automotive oxygen sensors, colloquially known as O2 sensors, make modern electronic fuel injection and emission control possible. They determine if the air fuel ratio exiting a gas-combustion engine is rich (with unburnt fuel vapor) or lean (with excess oxygen).
