  • School Strip-Search Case Win At Supreme Court A public school violated the privacy rights of a ***age girl who had to disrobe on suspicion she had ibuprofen pills, the US Supreme Court ruled in June 2009 in its first decision on student strip searches. By an 8-1 vote, the justices upheld a ruling that the school and its officials violated the US constitutional right that protects against unreasonable search and seizure. This video tells the story of the Savana Redding case before her case was heard at the Supreme Court. When Savana was 13 years old, she was strip-searched for allegedly possessing prescription-strength ibuprofen. School officials violated Savana's rights and called into question basic constitutional protections for all students in schools across America.

  • Young Boy Strip Searched by TSA (New link to TSA lies interview) **** See how the TSA LIED to America on my latest interview!!! ****** Lets get the facts straight first. Before the video started the boy went through a metal detector and didn't set it off but was selected for a pat down. The boy was shy so the TSA couldn't complete the full pat on the young boy. The father tried several times to just hold the boys arms out for the TSA agent but i guess it didn't end up being enough for the guy. I was about 30 ft away so i couldn't hear their conversation if there was any. The enraged father pulled his son shirt off and gave it to the TSA agent to search, thats when this video begins. ******* THIS VIDEO OCCURRED AT SALT LAKE CITY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ON NOVEMBER 19TH AT AROUND THE TIME OF 12:00 PM ********** ***Insertion of what happened after the video (full story)**** After I finished videotaping the incident I went through the check point myself. I collected my things and went over to talk to the father and son. Before I could get to them a man in a black suit who had been talking with the other TSA officials approached me. He asked to speak to me and I obliged, wondering what was to come. He then proceeded to interrogate me about why I was videotaping the "procedures of the TSA". I told him that I had never seen such practices before on a young child and decided to record it. The man being frustrated at this point demanded to know my plans with the video, of which I didn't respond. Repeatedly he asked me to delete ...
  • Get Original Genealogy and Family History Records with FamilySearch New Record Search Pilot site You've got to try this. You may have been to the FamilySearch site before, but what they are working on is truly wonderful. I'm talking about access to copies of free original genealogy records - and you've got to see their new search interface. Very, very nice. Try your own genealogy and family tree searches just like the example in this video shows, and be sure to save the copies of the original records that you find. This is happening in part (a large part) because of "thousands of volunteers around the world who are helping to make more free records available online through FamilySearch Indexing." You will see links asking for volunteer "Indexers" on the Pilot site. I imagine many of Treasure Maps readers are involved with this already. The FamilySearch, Record Search - Pilot Site, is only going to get better and better. And bless all of you volunteers. Good luck ;-) Robert

It begins with a list of seven names: Ben Thomas, Holly Apelgren, Connie Tepos, George Ristuccia, Nicholas Adams, Ezra Turner and Emily Posa. The only thing they share in common are that each has reached a turning point and is in dire need of help, from financial to spiritual to medical and unbeknownst to them, Ben has carefully chosen each to be part of his plan of redemption. But it is Emily Posa (Rosario Dawson), a lively cardiac patient, who throws a wrench into the works as she does the one thing Ben thought impossible grows close to him and turns his view of the world and what is possible inside out. • EU criticizes virtual strip search EU criticizes virtual strip search EU lawmakers have a valid reason for joining US civil liberty campaigners in criticizing a new scanner that allows airport security to see through passengers' clothes. The new system, which the European Union plans to authorize at the bloc's airports, allows guards to see an outline of passengers' bodies beneath their clothes, making it easier to detect any concealed objects. The scanning is equivalent to conducting a virtual strip search that could raise just objections. Many travelers are bound to consider it as an enormous intrusion on their personal privacy. This means that the technology can only be used under compelling suspicions and not used routinely on the passengers. EU should consider offering alternate forms of security checks for the passengers who object to such search.

  • Coming Soon to an Airport Near You: Prison-style strip searches? You've heard about the passenger who opted out of a full-body scan (aka "a virtual strip search") and was subjected to an intrusive and humiliating pat down. "If you touch my junk, I'll have you arrested," passenger John Tyner told Transportation Security Administration workers in San Diego. Well, rest easy, John—and other passengers offended by both full-body scans and hands-on searches. TSA won't touch your junk—or your breasts or buttocks. If they begin to strip search passengers as if they're prison inmates, they'll do just what correctional officers do: They'll make you do all the nasty work. What follows is an excerpt from a training video for prison guards on how to make sure that inmates aren't hiding contraband. The video makes for extremely uncomfortable watching and viewer discretion—and outrage—is advised. After all, this may well be the next step in how the TSA, one of the least effective and efficient government agencies of all time, goes about its daily business. Approximately 2.43 minutes. Written and produced by Ted Balaker and Nick Gillespie.
