We have spent 1000's of hours trolling in the Gulf Stream, but it takes more than lots of time on the water to catch a spear fish. It takes a lot of luck and some skill. 8-17-12 Dolphin fishing, Key West on Sea Boots, with Charles, Barbara and Sondra Captain jim explored the gulf stream about 20 miles south of the Lower Keys in 650 to 700 feet of water. In the course of the day we landed about 15 dolphin, some of the smaller fish had to be released. We brought home 9 dolphin mostly schoolies for eating. The gulf stream current was strong in that area moving east at 3.5 knots. The little sooty terns alerted us to the feeding dolphin.

WAHOO FISHING IN KEY WEST/LOWER KEYS SHAWN ON SEA BOOTS Shawn chartered the charter boat Sea Boots with Captain jim Sharpe and mate Al Burns for a day of fishing. The target species was fun, The first hook up was a seven foot sail fish that came out tail walking wrapped up in the leader and broke it. we missed the next strike a wahoo. Then a wahoo hit the deep troll and the line fouled in the release pin and broke it. This was a buietiful day north win at ten clear skies but the fishing was very slow and we had already had three chances to make the day and dropped the ball. in the last hour the deep troll started screaming off, this was our wahoo, He dumped 350 yards of line off a 50 wide international before slowing down. At the boat mate Al was sweating bullets, big wahoo are difficult to gaff and this was fourth quarter with 20 seconds to go and a field goal would win the game.

9-1- 12 Big Key West Wahoo, Greg and Carrie Haber Big wahoo arrive in lower Keys and Key West Waters. Carrie landed this 50 pound wahoo fishing on the charter boat Sea Boots with captain Jim Sharpe and mate John. This big wahoo really came unglued at the boat then tried to bite the mate. Out of four offshore trips this week we landed big wahoo on three of the trips.
