Sabra Som SSM-1 Universal Microphone Shockmount From . The Sabra Som SSM-1 Universal Shockmount can be used with any microphone type up to 2 inches in diameter. If you are using a microphone to capture audio, then you need to be using a shockmount. The SSM-1 makes it affordable to use a shockmount with each one of your mics. Engineers KNOW that the first solution, before equalization, feedback suppression, noise gates and other audio "fixes" MUST be an ACOUSTIC solution. When a microphone picks up an audio signal, It also picks-up unwanted mechanical noise through the microphone stand. This is caused by vibrations in the vicinity - the kick drum, low frequencies from amplifiers, an artist's movements, etc., etc. It's common for people to seek an electronic solution to this problem, such as use of a noise gate, re-equalization (elimination of low frequencies), etc. Such signal manipulations interfere with the dynamics of the reproduced sound, reducing head room and degrading signal quality and "naturalness." The SSM-1 (Universal Noise Suppressor Microphone Support) was created to meet the following premise: For acoustic problems, acoustic solutions. The SSM-1 acoustically isolates a microphone from its stand, reducing noise by approximately 15 dB - all at a very low cost. It's versatility in mounting methods and adjustments makes the SSM-1 compatible with almost all shapes, sizes and types of microphone on the market, up to 2" in diameter. To correctly mount a microphone, simply weave it through the parallel ...

Press TV-Remember Palestine-Sabra & Shatila Massacre-23-10-2010-(Part2) The Sabra and Shatila massacre took place in the Sabra and Shatila Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut, Lebanon, between September 16 and September 18, 1982, during the Lebanese civil war. Palestinian and Lebanese civilians were massacred in the camps by the Israeli supporters Phalangist militia while the camp was surrounded by Israeli forces. In that period of time, Israel was at war with Lebanon. The Israeli forces occupied Beirut and dominated militarily the refugee camps of Palestinians and controlled the entrance to the city. Later, the Israeli forces were ruled to have been involved directly in massacres carried out in both camps. This episode of Press TV's Remember Palestine looks at what brought on the massacres and why they are not recognized to the same extent that other atrocities in history have been.

28th Anniversary of Sabra and Shatila Massacre What happened in Sabra and Shatila refugee camps in 1982? A massacre of Palestinian civilians (including the eldery, women and children) by Christian militiamen during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon. The goal of Israel's action was to expel Palestinian guerrillas from Lebanon. To achieve this objective, Israel allied itself with several Lebanese Christian groups, including the Phalange party, who fought the Palestinians during the protracted Lebanese civil war (1975 -- 90). Following the US-brokered evacuation of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) fighters from Beirut, Israeli forces under Defense Minister Ariel Sharon allowed Phalange militiamen into the camps, ostensibly to root out further PLO fighters. Estimates of the number of women, children, and elderly who were killed over the next several days ranged from 800 to several thousand. Although no militiamen were ever prosecuted for their participation, Sharon — who an Israeli commission of inquiry later found indirectly responsible through negligence — was condemned in Arab popular opinion as the culprit of the massacre. On September 28, the Israeli Government resolved to establish a Commission of Inquiry, which was led by former Supreme Court Justice Yitzhak Kahan. The report included evidence from Israeli army personnel, as well as political figures and Phalangist officers. In the report, published in February 1983, the Kahan Commission stated that there was no evidence that Israeli units took direct part in ...

Sabra & Shatila israelpalestine- Who killed the Arabs in the town? The Lebanese Christian Phalanges militia was responsible for the massacres that occurred at the two Beirut-area refugee camps on September 16-17, 1982. Did Ariel Sharon allow the massacre to happen? No! Ariel Sharon did not know what was happening inside the camp. Although Ariel Sharon sued Time magazine for libel in American and Israeli courts in a $50 million libel suit, after Time published a story in its February 21, 1983 issue implying that Sharon had "reportedly discussed with the Gemayels the need for the Phalanges to take revenge" for Bashir's assassination. The jury found the article false and defamatory.

SABRA AND SHATILA MASSACRE Journalist Robert Fisk returns to the Sabra and Shatila Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. Fisk recounts how Lebanese Christian militias who were under the control of the Israeli military murdered over 2000 Palestinians in the camps. Fisk also points to a building in the distance from where he insists the Israeli forces could witness the massacre. The Israeli government's own Kahan Commission found that future Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was personally responsible for the massacre. This is from a documentary Fisk made about "why so many Muslims have come to hate the West." But we know the real reason is because they hate our freedom, right?

Citizen Diplomat Sabra Simmonds on Aghla Shabab American MidEast Leadership Network (AMLN) program participant Sabra Simmonds speaks on Aghla Shabab. The episode aired on Syrian TV, Aug 14, 2009 (more about Sabra in the link below *). In this compilation, Sabra talks about her experiences as an American being in Syria to learn Arabic. "Syria is the best place to learn Arabic". One of the comments was about funny moments, and an example was how program participant Greg Cohen (see link below *) kept once saying in Arabic that he loved Portugal, while he really meant that he loved "bortuqal" (Arabic for oranges). The closing comment in this group interview went also to Sabra who said in part: "Syria, I have to say, by far, has been the most welcoming, the most safest, and the most hospitable place I have ever visited in my entire life". As you would notice at the end of the video, the program director, Rami Nuseir (see link below *), had a central role in this interview, as he was translating into Arabic the comments of the American students. At the end he invited the viewers to visit the AMLN Virtual Scrapbook to read the entries that document the experiences of the American students participating in the program. * American MidEast Leadership Network program participants bit.ly
