sabayon 5.4 gnome review this was my first time trying out sabayon a distro based on gentoo linux, but would have to say i was very impressed. it has a nice polished look. it was fast. the sabayon repository seems like it has a ways to go but you can still find loads to install. it gives you a nice out of the box experience with very little to install. it comes with a word possessor (openoffice). video was no problem. instillation was easy. it has a pretty good selection of apps. i loved the default theme rating: 4.5/5

Check out p- for things I talk about mostly Linux releated. a few notes about Sabayon 5.0, So far I like 4.2 more, 5.0 does not seam ready yet however this all could change soon. many things are slower then in 4.2 esp. compiz. sulfur is awlays slow... it took me about 15 minutes to do a fresh install over Sabayon 4.2 alongside windows 7 64bit. boot time after the initial boot was around 25 seconds to the log in screen, and 10 seconds after that to a fully loaded desktop. Ram usage while inactive and no compiz, ~300 megabytes Ram usage while inactive and with compiz and emerald theme manager, ~450 megabytes thanks for watching and yes I know I suck at chess ;-) If you would like to see more then message me about what you want to see and I will post it.
Sabayon 5.4 XFCE.......A lot better than chips.. Watch in fullscreen and HD...... Here i go back and look at sabyon as last time i did really slate it,well i am pleased to say that now i think it has got a lot better,although its no speed machine.....

Here we have a go with sabayon 5.1,and what a bugger it is,it runs real nice until you try the media centre and then hey it all falls down,to be honest this one really made me depressed and want to cut my wrists,after the super large d/l of 1700 mb i was expecting more,but all i got was less,i know gentoo is not the easiest of the linux stable but come on guys,at least let us know that things are not going to work. watch in HD......

I used Sabayon Linux just for fun. The sound didn't work though. Sorry for all the noise, I have about 4 fans going. Sabayon Linux!! 3d Desktop effects!!! This is my setup of Sabayon linux. It has incredible 3d desktop effects, as well as many others. It looks good on my pc considering it isnt even close to Vista requirements,lol. Microsoft sets the requirements high because they put soo much junk into their OS. Go Linux!!!!!
