Sharing surveys, rubrics, and item bnks in Flashlght Online The TLT Group's Flashlight Online system is a web 2.0 tool that enables authors to easily share their work with others. For example, authors can easily put on their desktops a dozen folders full of model surveys, rubrics, and item banks from the Flashlight Program. An institution can create rubrics or feedback forms and make them available to all their faculty authors. An instructor teaching a survey methods course can make model surveys available to all students to adapt; or student authors can give peer critiques. The same rights can be used to co-author surveys. This brief "how to" video shows the easy steps to share an online form( eg, survey, rubric), or a folder of online forms, with someone else. flashlight Online is powered by the Skylight Matrix Survey System developed by Washington State University with support from the TLT Group and the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE).

The Branding Quality Rubric from In our course on Breakthrough Branding at , you can download a 28-page guide on nonprofit branding and marketing. There was one piece of the packet in particular that I want to highlight, called the Branding Quality Rubric. This simple, one-page form can prove very helpful in your organization when writing and editing. Its more than a checklist; think of it like bullet points that guide you to ***yze your work more closely. You can download it here for free at . It looks like the image in the video. Now these are not hard and fast rules by any means. Theyre guidelines that provide insights into new ways to look at your writing beyond spelling errors and organizational flow. One part of the rubric that I find particularly helpful is the interest scale. Your writing may not have any specific problems like spelling or grammar, but it could just be plain boring. Around here, we call that sort of writing lifeless. When we revise we say breathe some life into it by adding personal interest stories and finding a new way to state an old idea or removing business jargon or clichés. You dont want your audience to fall asleep or lose interest while reading your material, you want them to get excited about your organization and motivate them to take action. To help students become conscious of what fluent and not-so-fluent readers sound like, Debbie reads passages and models the four levels of fluency contained in the rubric.
