Rock bands Def Leppard and Bon Jovi played at the infamous Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo in 2007 in spite of receiving loads of information about the abuse involved. The Denver Broncos sent their mascot and cheerleaders, while the US Air Force Thunderbirds did flyovers, and on one day a complete air show at taxpayer expense. Dodge Trucks, Coca-Cola and AT&T, Southwest Airlines, Sam's Club / WalMart are among companies that give rodeo animal abusers advertising money. Rodeo Horse Fatally Gored by Bull at High School Rodeo The 2007 National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA) Rodeo Finals was, as in years past, a seemingly never-ending series of animal abuses. The NHSRA encourages young people to violently mistreat animals. The more abuse, the higher the score. In this case an arrogant, incompetent pickup man puts his horse at risk, and then completely abandons his mount in its time of need. A poster to this video revealed on November 26, 2007 that the horse had to be put down following the goring. The horse's death was confirmed by NHSRA Exective Director Kent Sturman. It's horrifying and repulsive, but par for the course in the world of rodeo. This abuse would not have been possible without the support of the corrupt administration of Governor Rod Blagojevich, and the Illinois Department of Agriculture, "led" at the time by Director Charles Hartke.
