  • The Story Of Bill Hicks-It's Just A Ride 3/4 William Melvin Hicks(December 16, 1961- February 26, 1994)was an American stand-up comedian. Finding moderate mainstream success in the late 1980s and early '90s, Hicks tended to balance heady discussion of religion, politics, philosophy and personal issues with more ribald material; he characterized his own performances as "Chomsky with dick jokes." Many people believe some comedians plagiarised Hicks' material and attempted to pass it off as their own, most notably Denis Leary. And if you listen to other comedians such as Sam Kinison and George Carlin, you can find material similar to Hicks' as well. But I believe all these comedians were just influenced by Hicks' and meant no foul. It's all debatable. Hicks played the final show of his career at Caroline's in New York City on January 6, 1994. He moved back to his parents' house in Little Rock, Arkansas shortly thereafter. He called his friends to say goodbye before he stopped speaking on February 14, and died of cancer in the presence of his parents at 11:20 pm on February 26, 1994. Hicks was buried on the family plot in Leakesville, Mississippi.

His jokes included general discussions about society, religion, politics, philosophy and personal issues. Hicks' material was often deliberately controversial and steeped in black comedy. In both his stand-up performances, and during interviews, he often criticized media and popular culture as oppressive tools of the ruling class, meant to "keep people stupid and apathetic." An inspired and inspiring truth teller, dangerous and brave and scary all at once. Richard Pryor Hickss stand-up act is about taking a stand and occasionally dodging a chair. • Mekons "Millionaire" More than any band that came out of late-'70s England, the Mekons (the name taken from the popular sci-fi comic Dan Dare) have perhaps the most devoted fans of any band even remotely connected to punk rock. And why not? Over the course of several decades, this band, with an ever-shifting lineup (only Jon Langford and Tom Greenhalgh remain from the original lineup), produced some of the best rock & roll on the planet, be it amateurish rock-noise, cool synth-driven pop, guitar rave-ups, or postmodern country & western, the Mekons have done it all and done it with style, grace, and a ribald sense of humor.

  • Life as a Marine Grunt As seen on MSNBC, ABC, and at the front office of the segeant major of the Godforsaken marine corps (LOL), This is the sarcastic portrayal of marine grunts in afghanistan back in 2004-2005- meaning we are making fun of ourselves and of the environment by ACTING stupid on purpose. ________________________________________ If you are not a Marine, a soldier in the infantry (or a navy field corpsman), or happen to be one of the actual afghani people that was there when we filmed this video, and/or lack any dry or ribald sarcasm, you will probably get offended by this video. If so, LEAVE, because you do not understand. everything we are doing here is a joke and a belligerant exaggeration and/or parody of how the marine corps treats our welfare, and of the realistic, contradicting interpretation we actually have with the people over there. Therefore, do not take this seriously. yes, the kids KNOW we are joking. let me say that again: they KNOW we are joking. hell, they do the same thing to us. None of us take it seriously and we have good relations with the afghani people we encountered- Most of them are sarcastic, just like us. Ironically, the people that are watching this at home that dont understand are the only ones that actually have a problem with it. In this case, i dont care, simply because your judgement is based off ignorance. so for those who've been there, enjoy... for those who havent, go ahead and drop a hate comment so u can further my point of why you dont ...
