6 WAP4 Beasts On Strike Sleeping TVC Six WAP4's seem to be in no mood to work, revolting and in sleep mode at TVC. Very costly rest of 30000 HP !!! And saw a inter city train arriving with a WAG7 !!! Poor inter city !!! Monster babies are resting. WAP4 is one of the most important electric locomotives used in India. It is a very powerful class capable of hauling 26 coaches at a speed of 140 km/h. It is also among the most widely used locomotives. It was introduced in 1994, with a similar body shell to the WAP1 class, but with Hitachi traction motors developing 5000 hp (5350 hp starting). The WAP4 class hauls 24 coach (1430 tonne) trains at 110 km/h. It is also used to haul the premier Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto expresses at 130 km/h. In trials, the loco has achieved a top speed of 169.5 km/h, though Indian Railways limits its top speed to 140 km/h. Bank holiday relief train, 1970's style Back in the 70's when the railway was still a public service it was common to see relief trains on high days & holidays, and on the WCML this often meant a roarer on a rake of scratch Mk1 stock. My Mk1 rake has a few passengers fitted but is otherwise 'out of the box' so far. I'll be weathering and detailing it in due course.
HORNBY 87 REVIEW Something a little different now a review!. I have decided to review Hornbys class 87 which searching on here I have found no videos and it has been out since early this year. So here it is with a spot of running of the loco also included. I compare the Hornby one to the now dated Lima version. And if you have not already, check his profile out for some of the best quality 323 action ever, and more! A bit about 465 181. A lot of us know that class 465 181 was taken out of service last year to under go a motor change in Chart Leacon, Ashford, Kent. The unit has not long returned and is now in service with new sounds. It caught me out by suprise at London Bridge, as I thought it was 465 036 with rheostatic sounds enabled, till I noticed the new skirt underneath the unit! I got my phone out and ready to record! This unit sounds some what like a class 395 javelin

DCC Sound Class 87 with rheostatic braking sound I've recently updated my 87 project with the characteristic rheostatic braking sounds so typical of the prototype. The sound is triggered at low to middle speeds by rapid throttle reductions (the same action at higher speed triggers the neutral section sound seen in my other videos). All good fun.

Class 465 021, the echoer! As a kid of 6, i used to love the echo's of networkers, sadly they have died down, and the sounds are much quieter. As for the rheostatic breaking sounds, they are nearly extinct. I was pretty pleased with this networker though, loud and a good echo er, just a shame its a bit quieter in the video than in reality. This video was filmed Between London Bridge and Waterloo East, when my girlfriend took me away for the day to Tunbridge Wells.

Re-motored Hornby Class 90 with custom DCC sound Resprayed & detailed Hornby Class 90 fitted with the mechanism from a Heljan Hymek and custom DCC sounds recorded by myself. Speaker is a standard Loksound 23mm in the tanks facing down, but is due for replacement for something better when I get round to it. Send me a private message if you'd like these sounds in your 90.

TGV arrival at Paris gare de Lyon Here is a different view of a TGV Atlantique cabride, at night this train is arriving from Lyon into Paris gare de Lyon. You can clearly hear the rheostatic braking as we slow down. Interesting to note, just prior to the video starting, the TGV could if need be, coast all the way into the staion just by its own momentum. From the time the video starts to the end, the trip covers 8.27 miles or 13.31 km. At 1:16 look to the right and 6:17 look to the left, you will see the 'searchlight' from atop the Eiffel Tower.
