  • Etienne de Harven Vienna AIDS Conference 2010 www.science-and- Vienna AIDS Conference 2010 HERVs (Human Endogenous Retroviruses) are confounding factors in HIV/AIDS research that cannot be ignored. They account for the presence of retroviral nucleoside sequences in the plasma of AIDS patients, erroneously interpreted as HIV ?viral load?. They falsify claims of innumerable ?mutations? of the hypothetical HIV. They also provide a valid explanation for the presence of EM recognizable retroviruses in the original 1983 publication from the French Institut Pasteur. Understanding the interference of HERVs in AIDS research permits to confirm that an exogenous HIV, actually, does not exist, opening the way to the development of a fully re-directed, non-retroviral AIDS research.

  • Evolution: Genetic Evidence - Endogenous RetroVirus Evolution: Genetic Evidence - Ubiquitous Proteins Excerpt from The Cassiopeia Project; "Facts of Evolution". The Full series can be found at: (Transcript of Video Below) A third type of structure found within the genome is also direct evidence of genetic relationships. Retroviruses like HTLV1 (which causes a type of leukemia) and AIDS make a DNA copy of their own viral genome and insert it into their host's genome. If this happens inside of sperm cells or egg cells the retroviral DNA will be inherited by descendants of the host. And these copies of virus DNA are called endogenous retroviruses. In human DNA, there are about 30000 endogenous retroviruses. There are at least seven distinct instances of identical retrogene insertions shared between chimps and humans. The phylogenic tree for cats provide another example. The standard phylogenetic tree has small cats diverging later than large cats. The small cats (eg the jungle cat, European wildcat, African wildcat, blackfooted cat, and domestic cat) share a specific retroviral gene insertion. In contrast, all other carnivores which diverged earlier lack this sequence. Retrovirus Example Let's examine how Endogenous RetroViruses or ERVs would behave within a model of evolution by common descent. Suppose an ancient creature, let's call it Primus Mammalius, is the common ancestor of all modern mammals and is infected by a retrovirus that becomes endogenous. All of the Primus descendants would be ...

  • Disproving evolution is supported by retroviral dna remnants This video is response to Daniel's video "RCR: ERV's Prove Nothing About Evolution." in which he tries to disprove how the concept of ERV remnants (retroviral dna markers) in our dna is proof of common descent of modern apes and humans. Now disproving is a good thing and will help science, so creationists can actually help scientific progress by actively participating in the process. His attempt failed so i thought i would give him the helping hand by showing what would be a problem for the concept, hence the title: "Disproving evolution is supported by retroviral dna remnants" For all creationists wanting to disprove scientific concepts, please make sure you actually understand it so you know what you are trying to disprove. I'm sorry to say Daniel, that incudes you. A very good video providing the concept of ERV's and why they are evidence of common descent is this one by RabidApe: It's very accessible. But there are many sources, you could also try Berkeley, Harvard, Oxford University, Smithsonian and alike a source of information. The video provided by RabidApe is an excelent start. LS I failed to mention in this quickly made vid what the second point was why i claim Daniel doesn't quite understand the concept. It part where he claims that it would be a problem for the concept if an ERV can infect multiple species (as opposed to just humans or apes). ============== = Correction = ============== Daniel did not mean the retrovirusses as being quite ...

The transgenic expression of genes in eukaryotic cells is a powerful reverse genetic approach in which a gene of interest is expressed under the control of a heterologous expression system to facilitate the ***ysis of the resulting phenotype. This approach can be used to express a gene that is not normally found in the organism, to express a mutant form of a gene product, or to over-express a dominant-negative form of the gene product. It is particularly useful in the study of the hematopoetic system, where transcriptional regulation is a major control mechanism in the development and differentiation of B cells 1, reviewed in 2-4. Mouse genetics is a powerful tool for the study of human genes and diseases. A comparative ***ysis of the mouse and human genome reveals conservation of synteny in over 90% of the genome 5. This pilot project helped recognize that food and nutrition are critical components of the global HIV and AIDS response.

The impact of so-called ARVs is depicted in a new photo exhibit in Washington at the Corcoran Museum of Art. The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and the photographic cooperative Magnum, which are sponsoring the event, are also pushing for the funding. And VOA's Rosanne Skirble reports organizers also say they want greater support for universal access to AIDS treatment.

  • Retroviral vaccines instead of condoms Issues discussed at the Synod of Bishops, such as the topic of healthcare in the African Continent, often draw worldwide attention. Cardinal Peter Kodowo Turkson, Archbishop of Cape Coast in Ghana and relator general of the Second Special Assembly for Africa, describes the Churchs involvement in this matter:The Catholic Church in Ghana manages 27% of all healthcare services in the country. Therefore, we are aware of the situation thanks to the testimony of the sisters and doctors who work there. In the past, the Catholic Churchs position on the fight against AIDS has led to controversy. That happened during Benedict XVIs visit to Cameroon and Angola in March 2009, and the issue is currently being discussed in Rome. The president of the Association of Episcopal Conferences of West Africa presented a unique view to H2onews:Even though AIDS is a cause of death for the [African] people, malaria is even worse. To the present day, more Africans die of malaria than of HIV, especially children. Currently, people are inclined to manufacture condoms. Why dont they also consider the possibility of investing these resources in the production of retroviral vaccines? If there are two solutions and one causes problems and disagreements, why not invest in the solution that does not cause problems? If there are resources available to invest in [condoms], why do we not invest these resources in the production of retroviral vaccines that can help the people?
  • UK: Blood donors with ME/CFS get life ban as virus is found Actual mention on the word XMRV/MULV not yet approved by UK government's Department of Health (DOH) for political reasons. Consequently the discovery of XMRV/MULV is refered to as 'the virus'. Why? ME/CFS is treated as a mental illness in the UK and people are told to alter their mind and alleged faulty illness beliefs with CBT and exercise. Yet since 1969, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has classified ME as a disease of the brain - ICD:10 - G93.3. Finding infectious Mouse AIDS has jumped species into humans and created new neuro invasive retroviral infections in ME/CFS patients (XMRV & MULV's) is not going to go down well with 60 million people in the UK, especially when 4 million healthy population find out they are also infected, there is no cure, and the infection is for life. (No exogenous retroviral infection is curable). Best to break the news gently, whilst simutaneously protecting the blood supply. The DNA is then incorporated into the host's genome by an integrase enzyme. The virus thereafter replicates as part of the host cell's DNA. Retroviruses are enveloped viruses that belong to the viral family Retroviridae. The virus itself stores its nucleic acid in the form of a +mRNA (including the 5'cap and 3'PolyA inside the virion) genome and serves as a means of delivery of that ...
