The Nakagawa Lab is a world pioneer in visible light communication. Professor Nakagawa and Professor Haruyama serve as Honorary Chairman and Chairman of the Visible Light Communication Consortium. Gatorade Go All Day with Nigel Sylvester in Japan Gatorade has spent many years researching and understanding what goes on in traditional athletes bodies when they are doing their sports. Whether it be hydration levels or information about how their body reacts to the most intense moments, Gatorade and their sport scientists have a pretty good idea about what's going on with—like I said—their traditional athletes... Action sports on the other hand, that's a totally different story. This year, Gatorade's theme is "Go All Day." In celebrating that theme, Gatorade wanted to start doing research on the non-traditional sports like BMX, so they hit up Nigel Sylvester, who rides for Gatorade and asked him a pretty crazy question: If you could go anywhere in the world to ride bikes with his friends, where would you go? That's a very heavy question to ask someone, even Nigel... so after lots of research and different ideas being thrown around, Japan was chosen as the destination! With it's huge city, amazing architecture, and lots of un-tapped spots, Japan would be the perfect location. To document the trip, Gatorade invited a few key BMX media outlets, including Defgrip, to go along for the ride. Burnout from Researching Lyme and Adrenal Fatigue my blog: As with any job requiring long exposure with uncertain rewards, I think you can burn out on researching your own chronic illness. I think I have! After taking a break from it over the weekend while visiting my boyfriend's parents, I DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT IT ANY MORE and I was loathe to return to it when going to my Lyme doctor appointment or researching adrenal fatigue this morning. To make an ***ogy with parenting, maybe it's ok to be a "good enough" patient. Moreover, maybe it's better not to do TOO much treatment, because there's a slight chance that any extra treatment you do might have negative effects (eg coffee enemas, saunas, parasite cleanse, what have you), in the same way that over-parenting or being too neurotic about parenting might be bad for the children. I just want to take a break from these illness topics. One other way to take a break while still making progress is to rotate topics. Stop thinking about one aspect of the illness while researching another aspect. Or think about nutrition for a while, then supplements, then exercise and physical things like hydrotherapy, then emotional things, etc.
