Republican Budget Fail? A satirical clip from "The Late Show with David Letterman" titled "Republican Budget Cut Ideas" illustrates that the budget proposed by Republican Congressman Paul Ryan that recently passed the GOP controlled House of Representatives not only ends Medicare as we know it and gives big tax breaks to the rich, but also engages in the kind of mindless draconian cuts that makes it more extremist than serious, as I show in this video. The clip I use of David Letterman comes from a longer segment of CBS' April 12, 2011, broadcast of "The Late Show with David Letterman" available online at bit.ly The images I use of the Congressional Budget Office's ***ysis of Paul Ryan's proposed budget comes from the document available online at 1.usa.gov

In the address, Boehner notes that this is a new approach that hasn't been tried in Washington -- by either party -- and it is at the core of the Pledge to America, a governing agenda Republicans built by listening to the people.

Democrat/Republican I: Better First in a series of 12 Parodies of the Mac/PC ads. Starring Aaron Sjoholm and Shawn Girvan. Directed by Jeff Hadick. Written and Produced by John T. Kramer. The Get a Mac (2006--2009) campaign was a television advertising campaign created for Apple Inc. by TBWA\Media Arts Lab, the company's advertising agency. Shown in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Japan, the ads in the campaign have become easily recognizable because each ad follows a standard simple template against a minimalist all-white background, a man dressed in casual clothes introduces himself as a Mac ("Hello, I'm a Mac."), while a man in a more formal suit-and-tie combination introduces himself as a Windows personal computer ("And I'm a PC."). The two then act out a brief vignette in which the capabilities and attributes of Mac and PC are compared, with PC—characterized as formal and somewhat polite, though stuffy and overly concerned with work—often being frustrated by the more laid-back Mac's abilities. The older ones shifted focus away from comparing features of the computer systems to a more general comparison. The even later ones, however, mainly concerned Windows 7. The original American ads star actor Justin Long as the Mac and author and humorist John Hodgman as the non-Mac PC, and are directed by Phil Morrison. The American ads also air on Canadian, Australian, and New Zealand television, and at least 24 of them were ...
