Film explores Medal of Honor Recipient, Lt. John Finn NOTE: Any comment made that disrespects the Medal of Honor or John Finn will be immediately removed. UPDATE: CBS, NBC and PBS affiliates around the country are playing A hero's Welcome on Memorial day as a tribute to John. For those of you interested in the Medal of Honor I have had the privilege of creating a documentary film titled "A Hero's Welcome" that focuses on Lt. John Finn, the first Medal of Honor recipient from WWII. To purchase your very own copy of my film go This story came about because of this little Texas town called Gainesville that's on the Texas and Oklahoma border. Gainesville invites all living Medal of Honor recipients to their town once a year and it's the only town in America to host this type of event. When I heard about what the town did I knew I had to document it. It was an amazing experience to meet 10 of the living 98 Medal of Honor recipients and get them on film, especially John Finn. Gainesville's Medal of Honor event is coming up on April 4^th^ where my film will premiere. 10 to 15 of the living 98 recipients will be in attendance. The premiere will also serve as a fund raiser for the Medal of Honor host city Program, you can get tickets on the website. If you've ever wanted to meet a real Medal of Honor recipient, this is your chance.

William Hewlett and David Packard, Co-Recipients, 1995 Lemelson-MIT Lifetime Achievement Award Hewlett and Packard first met as undergraduate students at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. After graduation in 1934, Hewlett went to MIT to earn a master's degree in electrical engineering, while Packard worked at General Electric. Following these pursuits, both returned to Stanford—Hewlett to receive his degree of engineer and Packard to start a fellowship. During this time, the two were encouraged to contribute to the foundation of a technology community in the Palo Alto area, today known as Silicon Valley. In 1939 Hewlett and Packard established their enterprise in Packard's garage. A coin toss decided their company name—the result was the Hewlett Packard Company. Their first product was a resistance capacity audio oscillator, based on Hewlett's graduate work, which Walt Disney Studios purchased to produce Fantasia. Throughout the years, the company grew and outpaced competition through its technological innovations. Among its most notable accomplishments are the high speed frequency counter (1951)—used by radio stations to meet FCC requirements; the cesium-beam standard clock (1964)—sets international time standards; the first desktop calculator (1968); the first scientific hand-held calculator (1972); the first desktop mainframe computer (1982); and the successful HP Laserjet Printer series—a paragon in the industry. Originating in Packard's garage with $538 and two employees, the Hewlett-Packard Company has evolved as one of the world's largest ...
