Raggle Taggle Gypsy/Tabhair Dom Do Lámh - Planxty There were three young gypsies came to our hall door, They came brave and boldly O. And there's one sang high and the other sang low And the Lady's seen the raggle-taggle gypsy O It was upstairs and downstairs the Lady went Put on her suit of leather, O It was the cry all around her door She's away with the raggle-taggle gypsy O It was late last night that the lord came in, Inquiring for his a-lady O The serving girls replied to him all She's away with the raggle-taggle gypsy O. O then saddle for me me milk-white steed Me big horse is not speedy O I will ride and I'll seek my bride, She's away with the raggle-taggle gypsy O. O then he rode east, and he rode west He rode north and south also, But when he rode to the wide open field, It was there that he spied his a-lady O. O then why do you leave your house and your land? Why do you leave you money, O? And why do you leave your only only-wedded lord, All for a raggle-taggle gypsy O? What do I care for me house and me land? What do I care for money,O? And what do I care for me only-wedded lord, I'm away with the raggle-taggle gypsy O! Well it was there last night you'd a goosefeather bed, With blankets drawn so comely, O. Tonight you'll lie in a wide open field, In the arms of your raggle-taggle gypsy, O. What do I care for a goose-feather bed, With blankets drawn so comely, O? Tonight I'll lie in a wide open field, In the arms of me raggle-taggle gypsy, O. Often you rode east when I rode west You rode high when I rode low ...

The Wraggle-Taggle Gypsies - Andreas Scholl The Wraggle-Taggle Gypsies (Traditional) Here we have Andreas Scholl having an alto-baritone duet with himself. Delightful story telling.. Brace yourselves and enjoy.. Score: I know, I know! The score is not a Ricordi edition, it is a mess, it could be better, yadda yadda... Because I had to do it all from scratch myself with Encore, listening to the way Scholl sings it, note by note, since there are no matching scores out there.. Either the key is different, or the melody.. And since I don't posess Schubert's extraordinary abilities to write notes at a supersonic-speed with no flaws, you are bound to see some errors.. So, if you are one of those people who loves to bug me for the key, melody, the semiquaver note's beam not being long enough and so on, save your breath... Heck, I may go with the wraggle taggle gypsies myself:)) There were three gypsies a come to my door, And down stairs ran this-a lady, O. One sang high and another sang low And the other sang bonny bonny Biscay O! Then she pulled off her silk finished gown, And put on hose of leather, O.. The ragged ragged rags about our door She's gone with the wraggle, taggle gypsies O! It was late late night when my lord came home, Inquiring for his-a lady, O. The servants said on every hand "She's gone with the wraggle-taggle gypsies, O!" "O, saddle to me my milk-white steed Go and fetch me my pony, O! That I may ride and seek my bride, Who's gone with the wraggle-taggle gypsies, O!" O, he rode high, and he rode low ...

Empty Hats - Raggle Taggle Gypsies Since 1993, this mult-talented band with deep Celtic influence has entertained audiences all over the country, performing at Renaissance Faires and Music Festivals. The band is made up of Carl Asch, Lynda Kavy and lyricist Ciara Carinci, and a fiddler whose identity is ever-changing. After three CD's as Double Indemnity, their second release as the Empty Hats was Greatest Hats. Raggle Taggle Gypsies (sp?) is a great song off this album. Most of the Empty Hats music is made up of renditions of classic songs, sometimes with new lyrics, always extremely well-done. If you enjoy them, please spread their name! Lyrics:
Haruhi's Raggle Taggle Gypsies The Twins steal Haruhi from Tamaki, He chases them only to find the Haruhi prefers the twins to him. The songs are both sung by the Chieftains. Raggle Taggle Gypsy is at least 200 years old and Lily of the west is at least 100 years old. I do not own any of this...I just put it together.
Raggle Taggle Gypsies - Brendan Kelly Raggle Taggle Gypsy - covered by Brendan Kelly. This is a favourite of mine to play in the Irish pubs. My interpretation of the meaning of the song is : 3 gypsies come to the home of a rich couple while the man of the house is away. The gypsies sing a beautifully captivating melody which intices the lady to go roving with these men, away from her husband and home. The song has been covered by many artists including Christy Moore.
