Before the earthquake... ...it was one of the greatest human rights cover-ups in history. Haiti: We Must Kill the Bandits Blood literally runs through the streets in this chronicle of Feb. 2004's forced ouster of Haiti's elected President Jean Bertrand Aristide and the terror of its citizens that followed. While many more may have died in recent natural tragedies in Haiti, this film shows how terror and repression have had their own distinct and lasting impact on the consciousness of the Haitian people. The film shows thousands of Aristide supporters gathered to celebrate his inauguration; he promised political and social change, better education, food, and health care for the masses. But not everyone was in favor of change. Haiti's business community and intelligentsia worked against Aristide from the very beginning. And they wouldn't accept, it seems, that a poor man's vote is worth as much as a rich man's. Internationally, most mainstream media reported only negatively on Aristide. At his ouster, they gave the impression that Aristide fled to South Africa out of concern for his own safety. A transitional government was put in place as tens of thousands of pro-Aristide/Lavalas supporters took to the streets to demand his return. This reality is captured in remarkable detail exposing one of the main premises justifying Aristide's ouster, namely he had lost the support of the ...

END:CIV Premise 2 submedia.tv Last week the supposed defenders of the environment, AKA the Environmental Non Governmental Organizations or ENGOs, cut a "deal" with timber industries to protect a large chunk of the boreal forest. On the surface this agreement looks good, but the entire deal was not published, only an abridged version was made available online. Some of the groups that took part of this deal are Greenpeace, the David Suzuki Foundation and Forest Ethics. The one aspect of this "accomplishment" that they are not publicizing is that they struck it without consulting with the First Nations, the original human inhabitants of those lands. As we face increasingly catastrophic environmental destruction, it is imperative that we seek guidance from those who "managed" the environment sustainably for over 10000 years. This short piece from "END:CIV" is a visual interpretation of Derrick Jensen's Second Premise from ENDGAME: Traditional communities do not often voluntarily give up or sell the resources on which their communities are based until their communities have been destroyed. They also do not willingly allow their landbases to be damaged so that other resources—gold, oil, and so on—can be extracted. It follows that those who want the resources will do what they can to destroy traditional communities.

In this series of events he undergoes a dark transformation into "Dirti G", making him incredibly powerful under the supervision of the sinister Van Kraken. The premise of the prelude is to foreshadow the story to be told in future episodes in a clever parody of Blizzard Entertainment's Starcraft 2 Cinematic trailer. About "Illegal Danish 3 The Ballad of Dirti G" Van Kraken has created his ultimate brew, the flask of ten thousand souls. The flask is so powerful that only by combining it with the power of the Illegal Danish can it be consumed without fear of death. Even coming into contact with a single drop could be fatal, so Van Kraken forces the remaining residents within the corrupt city of Gnomeregan to help him build a device capable of containing its power. While evaluating the device he realizes that it's been designed only for a gnome, and with his enemies closing in and relations wearing thin with his ...

Please note (1) We had never seen the episode and only learned of it long after we'd finished the film. (2) The Twilight Zone weren't the first to do it. There was a short story before that, which was in turn based on an old premise called the 'Faustian Bargain', around since the 16th century (deal with the 'devil'). An almost identical premise exists in several cultures. Richard Kelly is even making a film with this premise called 'The Box'. Abraham - the Most Powerful Premise Background music: Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" (piano Sonata No. 14 in C sharp minor) Abraham explains this simple and yet powerful premise: a belief is only a thought you keep thinking. Tthink the thoughts that serve you, the thoughts that match you you are *wanting*, the thoughts that bring you in harmony with well-being. No longer think a thought just because it's true. Because it's the fact. Because it's reality. Abraham shows that demonstrated that reality / truth only means that I gave my attention to something for a long time, and Law of Attraction brought me more and more evidence incrementally. So, a belief is really only a thought I keep thinking, so I will choose my thoughts based on what harmonizes with my desires & not what is true / what tells the story of what I'm observing / what is. This is a big shift to make, but it makes the whole difference. No longer tell the old story, "I want to be progressive and move beyond." In loving appreciation of Abraham!

How Science Can Determine Human Values Science & Reason on Facebook: Sam Harris @ TEDtalks (Part 1/3): How science can determine human values. Can science answer moral questions? --- Please subscribe to Science & Reason: • • • • --- Questions of good and evil, right and wrong are commonly thought unanswerable by science. But Sam Harris argues that science can -- and should -- be an authority on moral issues, shaping human values and setting out what constitutes a good life. • --- Sam Harris has been identified as one of the "Four Horsemen of Atheism" -- company he shares with Richard Dawkins, Dan Dennett and Christopher Hitchens. An outspoken proponent of skepticism and science, his two books -- "The End of Faith" and its follow-up "Letter to a Christian Nation" -- have become best-sellers. In "The End of Faith", Harris showed "a harrowing glimpse of mankinds willingness to suspend reason in favor of religious beliefs, even when these beliefs inspire the worst of human atrocities." After receiving thousands of angry letters in response, he wrote "Letter to a Christian Nation", which centered on religious controversies in the United States stem cell research, intelligent design, and links between religion and violence. Harris received a degree in philosophy from Stanford and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UCLA. He is the co-founder and CEO of Project Reason, a nonprofit devoted to spreading scientific knowledge and secular ...

Murder of Dr David Kelly with Norman Baker MP Part 1 Premise:- after careful consideration of the evidence, Britain's Iraqi Weapons Inspector Dr David Kelly was murdered. That is according to published data in Norman Baker MP's book The Strange Death Of David Kelly. The Hutton inquiry was a joke a farce and travesty, yet they are surprised when people say so. Secondly as we had some very nasty active interference on this interview, in part 2 we feature two further examples in the second section, illustrating that non visible "items" accompany us as we discuss sensitive matters. However as this is off topic, we have part 1 on its own. Greg Dyke the BBC Director General, was "shafted" by the BBC board and forced to resign, all over the faked or "***ed Up" documents and the travesty and failure by the intelligence services,(or was there?) leading Britain to War in Iraq. This is a highly controversial, and VERY dark CONTINUING chapter in Britain's history. Part 2 shows evidence from other interviews being "accessed", and Part 3 shows the BBC 2 Newsnight programme of the night after Dyke quit the BBC. This VHS tape mysteriously arrived in this edit suite AFTER the 1st showing of this edit on You Tube. The subject amtter is connected with the "accessing" as executed in Part 1, illustrated in Part 2. Researchers need to see, as Norman Baker said, "The Elephant In the Room". There is a VERY VERY Large one, and this demosntrated itself in Part 1.

GasTechno® - Modular Plant For Methanol Production The GasTechno® Process The premise of the GasTechno® process is to avoid the traditional syngas step of production by converting methane directly into methanol without a catalyst (direct homogenous partial oxidation) and from there into any number of desirable end products. Direct homogenous partial oxidation has been known for decades, but historically it has suffered from a tradeoff between high selectivity and high conversion. Until now, you had to choose between one or the other. Too much oxygen and you end up with carbon dioxide. Too little oxygen and there simply isn't enough methanol being produced to make the reaction practical. The GasTechno® process has solved this problem through the propriety design of its reactor and scrubber systems. These two systems work together as part of an energy-neutral recycle loop where unreacted methane is cleaned (via the scrubber) and recycled until a desired overall conversion is achieved. Sound simple? It is. In fact, the process cannot be any simpler. The carbon efficiency of the GasTechno® is comparable to syngas-based technologies in use today, proving that the selectivity/conversion has finally been solved.

Premise 10: The culture and most of its members are insane submedia.tv As I type this, leaders from the biggest industrialized nations are meeting in Copenhagen to discuss a possible treaty to diminish worldwide carbon emissions. As reported last month, it is already known that no deal will be reached during these talks. Many scientists say time is running out and others say its too late. Meanwhile in Canada, the forces of capitalism and industry are moving full force to extract the last bits of oil from the Alberta tar sands. The insanity of this project perfectly exemplifies Premise 10 from Derrick Jensens Endgame

Introductory Premise of Argument #1: The Nile Crocodile has the Strongest Bite Force Hello everyone and welcome to the channel of The ZEROEGREES. First off, I would like to thank all of my viewers for being commendably patient with me as I await the arrival of my Dazzle so that I can start recording; once again, you're patience is highly noteworthy and immensely appreciated. Well, let's delve into the first topic of my upcoming series of arguments, the universal superiority of the Nile /Sal***er crocodile. Basically here is my argument that I will prove using scholarly supported information: Assuming that all variables are equal, except for dimensional ones and weight, and unbiased so that no animal has a decisive advantage over the other, the Nile and/ or Sal***er Crocodile will prove to be the most collectively effective, efficient, and powerful predator compared to most other ones in routine activities such as interspecific combat and predation, which places crocodiles of their nature almost at the apex of the known animal kingdom. My first premise is that the Nile Crocodile has the strongest bite force of any known animal!!! The crocodiles bite force exceeds that of all other animals including Great White Sharks, African Lions, Hyenas, and Bengal Tigers. A friend of mine, Sarcosuchas, will provide his insights into this topic and future topics, and he does not have to and will not always agree with me! The Supplemental Discussion Topic will be about these two species of crocodile's power in terms of the actual numbers (eg physical capabilities) and ...

Basic Argument Evaluation I explain a method of approaching philosophical arguments using Descartes' argument from illusion in the First Meditation. The approach is standard and simple: 1. Regiment the argument: put it in premise-conclusion form 2. Determine the validity: Does the conclusion logically follow from the premises? 3. Determine the soundness: Does the argument possess validity and veracious content I conclude that the argument is unsound because first premise is an extreme overreaction (but for more complicated reasons, I show that the argument is self-defeating, as BuBBaGump014 also notes in the comments), and so the senses are ostensibly saved. Please comment. All feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks and enjoy! Footnotes: 1. That feels a little paradoxical, doesn't it? Neil Tyson talks about UFOs and the argument from ignorance. From: St Petersburg College 6605 5th Avenue North St Petersburg, FL 33710-6899 Link for full video:Cosmic Quandaries with Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson - The argument from ignorance, also known as argumentum ad ignorantiam ("appeal to ignorance" , argument by lack of imagination, or negative evidence, is a logical fallacy in which it is claimed that a premise is true only because it has not been proven false, or is false only because it has not been proven true. The argument from personal incredulity, also known as argument from personal belief or argument from personal conviction, refers to an assertion that because one personally finds a premise unlikely or unbelievable, the premise can be assumed to be false, or alternatively that another preferred but unproven premise is true instead. Both arguments commonly share this structure: a person regards the lack of evidence for one view as constituting proof that another view is true. The types of fallacies discussed in this article should not be confused with the reductio ad absurdum method of argument, in which a valid logical contradiction of the form "A and not A" is used to disprove a premise.
