HOOF LAMENESS 1ON 1 PREPARATION OF THE HOOF FOR A POULTICE PACK.wmv The horse featured in the video originally had a poultice applied using a plastic bag as a bandage. During the twenty-four hours between its application, and the video taken here, the plastic bag wore through and the clean environment was compromised. The result was a thoroughly dirty hoof, that allowed for comprehensive footage of how to prepare a hoof for a poultice. Its not the end of the world, she didnt hurt herself too bad, but i is swollen and shes out of work for a little bit. Ive been poulticing and wrapping it at night and that seems to really be helping. This video is just clips of me taking care of her over the past few days. Nothing to exciting. I did try to put her on stall rest for the mornings but i came back 2 hours after feeding her and she was screaming and trying to break down the stall door. So I have to turn her out. But she doesnt run around to much so hopefully she wont re-injure it. xxcommentxxratexxsubscribe

Horses in the third world - the reality I don't own the music, Youtube pleeeeease be good to me, just for once :) I made this video after hearing so many people tell me I have a life of Riley and it must be all hearts and flowers being on the road, traveling the world, riding horses. For the most part, yes, it is, but it's also very difficult when you're constantly being confronted with animals in dire need of help but you can't give it to them. Not every single one of them anyway. I also made this as a way of getting people who freak out if a horse is showing a rib or two to rationalise. Is it really so terrible if your horse's back end has dropped a bit after a cold snap? Is it really time to panic if your horse has changed shape between seasons? You only need to look at these horses to know the answers. As for these horses, they actually belong to the yard I work at but got sent away to work at other yards last year and have been returned to us looking like this. They are all grossly underweight, four had large areas of their backs open due to poorly fitting saddles rubbing them and a few had open wounds on the shoulder and gaskin due to being put inbetween too narrow shafts. They are now being fattened up and once up to weight, they will be sold because it is too expensive to keep them after spending such a huge amount making them fat. Who they go to will be a lottery, but generally the healthier they look, the better the home they will go to.The horse with Conjuctivitus, Bilal, is on the mend and that is a ...
