Horrors of War For Soldiers (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) Reality: hundreds of soldiers are suffering PTSD when returning from their tours. many hide their horrors, but thousands suffer greatly from it. while most get help when returning from war, thousands still are not being helped with it.!!! FACT: our goverment, just sweeps it under the carpet when our soldiers return as if it isnt anything to worry about as they have done their job. but the hard cold reality of it is, when these men and women return from war, the war isnt over for them, its far from the end and they live with the nightmares everyday. it is about time, that our goverment sits up and takes notice that many of our soldiers just cant handle coming home, getting back into 'normal' routine and end up being violent, aggresstive, abusive and in many cases committ suicide because they havent received the help they need to help deal with the trauma they have seen and been put through!! This isn't just a job to our soldiers, its their lives and they need as much help and backing, so they can carry on! POLITICS!!! thats all it is at the end of the day to our UK goverment... but these soldiers are people too and having there troubles swept under the carpet for doing their 'job' is not right or acceptable!

There are many on-line sites that can be researched for further information. You may also want to check at Medicine Net: WARNING: This video includes graphic images from (1) Oklahoma City Bombing; (2) World Trade Center Attacks; (3) Omaha Beach, WWII; (4) Hue City, Vietnam War; and (5) a Police Officer Funeral. The end message is one of hope. Those suffering from PTSD come from a variety of causes, including rape, combat, disasters - both natural and man made, and more. The music is Ghosts, by Dan Fogelberg: Sometimes in the night I feel it Near as my next breath and yet, untouchable Silently the past comes stealing Like the taste of some forbidden sweet. Along the walls; in shadowed rafters Moving like a thought through haunted atmospheres Muted cries and echoed laughter Banished dreams that never sank in sleep. Lost in love and Found in reason Questions that the mind can find no answers for Ghostly eyes Conspire treason As they gather just outside the door.... Every ghost that calls upon us Brings another measure in the mystery Death is there To keep us honest And constantly remind us we are free. Down the ancient corridors And through the gates of time Run the ghosts of days ...

Day Six***: "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder" Most mind blowing Cristina & Owen episode to date!!!ever? Owen falls asleep in Cristina's bed. Cristina awakes to Owen strangling her, in a PTSD induced night terror. Callie hears noises coming from Cristina's room and saves Cristina's life. Cristina goes to work after being strangled. She and all her fellow residents are frightened as Izzie prepares for brain surgery to cut out a cancerous tumour. Derek has returned to Seattle Grace to perform the surgery. Owen has another "freezing moment" after a helicopter arrives at Seattle Grace with a trauma patient. Derek encourages Owen to seek help for PTSD. Derek performs surgery on Izzie. Cristina and Owen make love for the first time. Cristina breaks up with Owen, after telling him she is "afraid to fall asleep" next to him. ----------------------------------------------------------- Why did I finish this one so much faster than usual? First, because Owen strangled Cristina, then they made love, then they broke up and then I lost my mind. Second, because I am not working Friday and Cristina and Owen made me lose my mind. I should have gone to bed; but I didn't. I have never edited so fast, listened to so much music at the same time, done near anything so fast. My brain is on fire. I hope it turned out well. Now that I have gotten all those Cristina & Owen thoughts out of my brain, through the keyboard, now I can sleep. ---------------------------------------- Entire Cristina & Owen playlist here:

Cindy Mccain insults veterans with PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder) Veterans for America won't be taking sides in the presidential election, but as a veteran who has spent much of the past seven years helping and advocating for soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with combat stress, I can't let the following exchange between Cindy McCain and a Marie Claire reporter go unchallenged: Marie Claire: You met your husband after his POW days. To what extent is that still with you - or is it a part of history? Cindy McCain: My husband will be the first one to tell you that that's in the past. Certainly it's a part of who he is, but he doesn't dwell on it. It's not part of a daily experience that we experience or anything like that. But it has shaped him. It has made him the leader that he is. Marie Claire: But no cold sweats in the middle of the night? Cindy McCain: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. My husband, he'd be the first one to tell you that he was trained to do what he was doing. The guys who had the trouble were the 18-year-olds who were drafted. He was trained, he went to the Naval Academy, he was a trained United States naval officer, and so he knew what he was doing. I've read this exchange thirty times on my screen, trying to see if I read it wrong. I've tried give her the benefit of the doubt and come up with some other interpretation, but all I can gather from this is that Cindy McCain thinks that PTSD is a result of either incompetence, poor training, lack of resolve, or some combination of the three. That her husband escaped the ...

PTSD Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: Effective Help One of the most difficult things a human being can go through, by definition, is trauma. PTSD, or post traumatic stress disorder gets a lot of press because of soldiers affected by trauma and justly so, but PTSD can affect all sorts of people. You do not have to go to war to be traumatised. Yes it is useful and valuable to talk about this kind of event to a trained specialist, but sometimes the person is seemingly locked in a living nightmare of shocking memories from which there seems no escape. At other times a person may not consciously think about the trauma but be plagues by a range of other symptoms related to it. What we do, using NLP and hypnosis, is begin to train the persons mind to put the event or events fully into perspective. The NLP techniques are based, to an extent, upon modelling people who had bad things happen to them and got over them, and the methods are derived from what works naturally. But because we are very direct and pragmatic in the way we train someones mind, positive results can often come quickly. Post traumatic stress disorder affects people in many different ways, and we will work with you to find out which techniques are likely to bring the fastest results. Do contact one of us, then to find out how we can help you. The JustBeWell team is a worldwide network of experienced practitioners and one of us may well be able to get you through PTSD much more quickly than you had imagined.

Haiti's post-traumatic mental recovery The United States has suspended evacuations of critically injured victims of the Haiti earthquake, until a dispute over who will pay for their care is settled, leaving tens of thousands in dire need of medical help for physical injuries. However, a by-product of Haiti's humanitarian emergency is the psychological toll on the population. Rebuilding Haiti will mean returning people to their full mental function as well as providing physical necessities. The challenge goes beyond providing basic supplies and rebuilding - helping Haiti's people to move toward psychological and emotional recovery. Al Jazeera's Monica Villamizar visits a mental health clinic in Port-au-Prince which has seen a dramatic increase in the number of people seeking psychological first aid to treat traumatic depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Suffers. nxiety disorders encompass a number of medical conditions deal with anxiety, and one of these conditions in particular is post-traumatic stress disorder. Unlike other mental illnesses, post-traumatic stress disorder has nothing to do with genetics. It is purely derived from your experiences in the past. Millions of people deal with post-traumatic stress disorder every year, and if you know someone who has had one of the following experiences, you should keep a watchful eye in order to be sure that post-traumatic stress disorder does not develop. The largest group of people dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder is veterans. While at war, veterans are exposed to a number of horrible things, including death, destruction, injury too horrible to imagine, famine, abandonment of children, and rage. Often war is a time of terror, and this takes a toll on mental health. When these military personnel return home, there is often an inability to mesh back into normal society, which is why you'll se a number of homeless veterans still today. Post-traumatic stress disorder is common, and many veterans experience dreams of their times in the service. Accidents can also cause post-traumatic stress disorder. You may find that you cannot remember a car accident if you suddenly wake up in the hospital. This may not be due to brain injuries, but rather to your brain blocking these memories because they are too difficult to bear to remember. You may also experience other symptoms ...
