It's funny how life works out sometimes. Yesterday, it was a beautiful spring like day, after making my comments on your video, my wife and I decided to take a drive up to the Kernville, CA area. At about 3:30 pm, we pulled over to the side of the road to watch the Kern River. Suddenly, the ground began to tremble, it was at least a 3 pt. magnitude, maybe larger. We turned away the river and were astounded to see this plume rising from that mountain. I used my still camera to make this time lapse. The plume lasted approximately 20 minutes. We returned home and I checked the USGS site for seismic activity in the area. At 6:30 am there was a 1.5 magnitude earthquake (earthquake.usgs.gov recorded in the exact area we were in, nothing more was reported. Why wouldn't the USGS want to report multiple earthquakes in the area? Lake Isabella is just a couple of miles down stream. To report this menace could cause a panic to the nearly ½ million people living in the rivers path.
