  • "Viva La -Tropisms" AP Bio Angiosperm Responses Review Final Version SHS AP Bio Review for Angiosperm Responses. 4 types of -tropisms with Derek (lyrics!!!), Kevin (video!!!), and Keigo (piano!!!) Here is the lyric if you would like to sing along~ I used to grow straight up when given light from all sides. Now in the morning I lean to the side showing phototropism. Now when I'm given light to only one of my sides I start to grow towards the light-- positive phototropism. But what if I grow away? Negative phototropism. And in gravitropism roots show positive; shoots--negative. The roots grow into the yummy soil; the shoots grow toward the yellow sunlight. And in thigmotropism plants coil around the others near. Lastly, in hydrotropism, plants seek water in the ground. That is four types of tropisms.

  • Phototropism - The Zombie Mustard Plants! Hello world :D This is the finished version of our phototropism 'educational' film we made for a biology project on phototropism. Our teacher told us to think 'outside the box' and be 'imaginative' so we did out best and this is what we have produced. It has everything you would want in a film; zombies, guns, elephants, action, typos. The warhammer 40k you see in it are painted by me and are imperial guard storm troopers with guest appearences from my 2 scratch built sentinels and my tech priest, with no hands... also in it you will see a 16mm carthigian (no idea how you spell it) elephant from irregular minitures. It is made with stop motion animation, taking frame by frame and putting it together in Windows Movie Maker. The animation is crude but it does the job for me. If all the camera wobble or light flicker annoys you then you probably shouldnt be watching this. :P We really enjoyed making it and I hope you like watching it! • PHOTOTROPISM for beginners Produced with CyberLink PowerDirector. that was the program i used, and this is my dialog which I MADE!!: Well... Photo means light, and Tropism is growth in plants from an environmental stimulus. So Phototropism is A plants reaction to light, growing in a certain way and direction. Growing towards light is known as positive phototropism, and growing away from light is known as negative phototropism. Most plants usually show positive phototropism where as roots usually show the negative kind. Sometimes bind shoots use negative phototropism to climb up dark objects, such as walls, to find more light. Phototropism uses auxin's, which are plant hormones, which have lots of uses. Here they are able to react to light, and break bonds in the cell walls. Making them less rigid. And making them swell up, and creating pressure, causing growth to grow in a different direction. Phototropism is directed by light receptors, such as, cryptochromes that detect blue light, and phytochromes that detect red light. This normally takes place in the tip of the plant. A scientist once conducted a experiment on this. To do this he took three plants and cut the tips of and placed one in a normal box, and one in the same type of box but put a foil cone on its head , and finally with the last one put it again in the same kind of box but put a hole in the side. This one grew towards the hole, the one with the tin foiled hat on grew straight up and the plain one didn't grow at all. Phototropism is ...
