GivePlatelets-DVD.dv Right now, the American Red Cross is experiencing a national shortage of platelets. Platelets are the part of your blood that help with the clotting process and their shelf life is only five days. If you have donated blood in the past, you'll recognize that platelet donation is very similar, except it takes a little longer and all of your fluids are returned to you, so you can donate as often as every two weeks. For more information about becoming a platelet donor, visit or call 1-800-RED-CROSS. Thank you!
