  • Automatic ***ysis of the Infant Cry Part 3 It has been established that the infant cry is a reflection of complex neurophysiologic functions and that ***ysis of the cry can be utilized to identify the medical abnormalities including encephalitis , downs syndrome, kernicteru,s cleft palate, various forms of brain dysfunction and the extreme case of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome(SIDS). According to the study in the official Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics, newborns whose first cries exhibited a high first formant were more likely to die of SIDS than infants whose first cries did not have this characteristic (relative risk , 3.5% ;95% confidence interval). The relative risk for SIDS increased to 8.8% for newborns whose second cries showed this characteristic persisted. Newborns with the combination of both a high first formant and a high number of mode changes on both of two cries reported to have a relative risk of 32%. In order to detect the pathologies in the early stages, different indicators of the cry have been used. For instance, the ratio of the dominant frequency and the pitch was suggested as an indication of the hearing level of the infants. The pitch and the first two formants were also used as the features to identify the cry-evoking reasons (ie pain, hunger, fear, sadness, anger) with accuracy of 74.2%. In addition to choosing the optimum features indicative of the cry patterns, the pattern classification itself was the main focus of several studies since 1999. Radial basis functions ...

  • Lesions from Grazing Fish By necessity all coral diseases have been described by their pathology (review by Richardson 1998). However, variation in pathologies show that the use of only visual clues for determining coral health and disease alone may be misleading (Kuntz et al. 2005). For example, this video shows two different coral species Acropora palmata and Siderastrea siderea, with similar pathologies. The small lesions covering the corals surface, reminiscent of white pox disease, are the result of fish feeding on tubeworms that live with the coral colony. • Ecografía Columna lumbar y Cadera - Ultrasound scan lumbar Column and Hip Enviado por CONSULTORIO MÉDICO FLORES BUISSON MÁNCORA- PERÚ... URL: consultoriomedicofloresmancora.es.tl ... Sonography of the spinal cord is a relatively recent acquisition that makes it possible to evaluate the content of the vertebral c*** and study its pathologies. The aim of this study was to verify the reliability of ultrasound images by comparing them with magnetic resonance ones in healthy controls as well as in patients referred to us between 1991 and 2004. In this period, we studied 436 newborns: 88 without any suspicion of disease as normal controls, and 348 with suspected congenital diseases or in order to screen the children of diabetic mothers, a group that has shown an increased incidence of dysraphism. After explaining normal sonograms, we describe the pathological pictures observed in the 12 pathological cases in our series: conus hypomobility in five cases; lack of visualization of the conus medullaris in one case; and an enlarged ependymal c*** in six cases. Four cases presented all three pathological conditions, and seven the association of two pathologies. All of these patients also underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which confirmed the ultrasound findings in four cases: three cases of enlarged ependymal c*** and one of tethered cord hypomobility of the roots with an associated lipoma; the MRI findings were normal in the other seven cases. Sonography was highly specific but not very sensitive, because it is partially conditioned by patient ...
  • Autocratic Forcefeed- Phase I- External Pathologies (2004) off FDH 025 The Suicide Party Tapes Vol 5 this was originally a CD released as one longform track broken down into 23 "phases" or chapters, one for each year of my life up to that point and imagining the final to be the year of my death. this is subtitled in some FDH literature as Gabriele's Wake because of the short experimental fiction story of the same name that came inside of each copy of the CD, which was Finnegan's Wake-esque in its use of neologisms and allusion (but perhaps in no other distinguishable way). Most of this work was composed of remixed, scrambled, mashedup version of previously recorded songs that wil probably pop up in some form or another on this Youtube channel. Timothy Leary pops up in this opener, composed of a longform piece that returns as a motif throughout the album. Sadly, only the first 15 (of 45) minutes of that piece have survived the many transfers from computers.
