Sudeley Castle + Katherine Parr Pictures from my most recent trip to Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire. Accompanied by the song 'Begone Sweit Night' performed by Hilliard Ensemble. Sudeley Castle is well known for being the brief home and resting place of Katherine Parr, Henry VIII's sixth wife. Although most of her original apartments have been destroyed, a small section remains -- the rooms which were used as a nursery for her child. Below the room is a staircase which Katherine and Jane Grey would have used in order to get to the chapel which is directly opposite the building. Katherine died at Sudeley in September 1548 following the birth of her child. She is buried in St Mary's chapel on the castle grounds. Her tomb dates to the nine***th century -- her original tomb was vandalised and her coffin opened several times. Amongst the items taken from her coffin were pieces of material from her gown, a lock of her hair, a ring and even a tooth! I thought it would be too disgusting to post a picture of that item! The lace canopy depicted in one of the pictures is said to have been made by Anne Boleyn for the christening of her daughter Elizabeth. Katherine may have brought the canopy to Sudeley for the christening of her own child. Also on display was a christening gown said to have been made by Anne and her ladies for Elizabeth, but there is very little evidence to support this. RICK WAKEMAN-6Wives Pt6 TheVideoMusicTribute Parr Note that the videos/tracks are in order of marriage date. This is the fourth tribute I've done at home to the 6 Wives album, again syncing all images from the 'RW Live in Melbourne 75'dvd to the original audio of 'The Six Wives of Henry VIII'album, 3 of the 6 tracks of the album are performed on that show, the other I had to 'improvise' and find out which takes would match to the sound of the album, as well using this time the beautiful scenes from the BBC documentary of the same title, a few takes from other performances by RW and a sort of other musicians, adding a lot of After Effects 3D to create the environment of the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum with the carpet illustration. All the images were processed seeking the same monochromatic visual of the photo cover album. Enjoy!
