Papyrus This was an animated project for a time based art class taught in Fall 2007 that experiments with black and white imagery and the dynamic effect of changing positive-negative space. The story is simply about the ancient Egyptian practice of paper making from the papyrus plant. Every object in the story is created from text printed in the Papyrus font and the entire film was animated and rendered in Blender

How Papyrus is Made - Cairo Egypt - Nikon D7000 Sample HD Clip I shot this on a recent trip to Cairo Egypt with the NEW D7000 in 1080p 24fps mode with a new Nikon 28-300mm lens. I used the built-in mic and there was no editing or post processing of the clip. This is out of the camera and uploaded to YouTube as is. It was handheld and a couple of times I played with focus. Egyptian Book of the Dead Papyrus from the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, England A curious papyrus dated circa 100 BC, contains two spells to protect the mummy into the after life in ancient Egyptian lore. From March through June 14, 2009, the University of Kentucky's "The Art Museum" in the world class "Singletary Center for the Arts" displays the first public exhibition of many egyptian artifacts, some 3000 years old. The exhibit includes a papyrus from the infamous Egyptian "Book of the Dead" containing two spells to protect the dead in the after life. Excavating the land of the pyramids produced the real life Indiana Jones: William Matthew Flinders Petrie of Britain (1853-1942). In an effort to rise to the top twenty of national colleges, The Art Museum is on the frontline of the battle and winning.

Indianapolis 500 The Simulation by Papyrus Indianapolis 500: The Simulation is a 1989 computer game. It was hailed as the first step of differentiating racing games from the arcade realm and into true simulations. It was made by the Papyrus Design Group and distributed by Electronic Arts. It first released for DOS and later for the Amiga in 1991. Indianapolis 500: The Simulation attempts to be a full simulation of the Indianapolis 500 race, with 33 cars and appropriate Indy car "feel". While racing, it only offers a first-person perspective, but the game offers a replay mode as well. Indy 500 offers the ability to realistically set up the car, and any changes made to the car directly affect how it handles. The field is represented as realistic and the qualifying order stays true to the 1989 Indianapolis 500 starting grid, with one exception: the player's car, numbered 17, replaces Car #29 of Rich Vogler, who qualified in 33rd and last place. Papyrus Ink Papyrus is as much a part of ancient Egypt as the Pyramids, Pharaohs, and crocodiles. The simplicity of its manufacture is quite underwhelming when you realize the magnitude of its importance to our species. Being able to record thoughts, ideas, and knowledge down onto a medium that is light and durable is probably a breakthrough as important to us as the invention of the wheel, agriculture, or even the taming of fire. As part of any guided tour to the Pyramids of Giza, there is a stop at one of the many Papyrus vendors on the main strip leading up to the plateau. The art that is drawn on the papyrus paper is almost as valuable as the paper itself. You can purchase anything from a classic cartouche with your name in hieroglyphics, to a depiction of the ancient Egyptian zodiac, or even one of my favorites, a more modern work of a Pharaoh's bust. Part of the sales pitch in these shops is how papyrus is made, and our friend Ayman will take us through the process. Enjoy

Papyrus, Egyption Paper, Egypt by For Bookings: For More Video: Papyrus (pronounced /pəˈpaɪrəs/) is a thick paper-like material produced from the pith of the papyrus plant, Cyperus papyrus,[1] a wetland sedge that was once abundant in the Nile Delta of Egypt. Papyrus usually grow 23 meters (59 ft) tall. Papyrus is first known to have been used in ancient Egypt (at least as far back as the First dynasty), but it was also used throughout the Mediterranean region. Ancient Egypt used this plant for boats, mattresses, mats, and paper. Papyrus was first manufactured in Egypt as far back as the third millennium BC.[2] In the first centuries BC and AD, papyrus scrolls gained a rival as a writing surface in the form of parchment, which was prepared from animal skins.[3] Sheets of parchment were folded to form quires from which book-form codices were fashioned. Early Christian writers soon adopted the codex form, and in the Græco-Roman world it became common to cut sheets from papyrus rolls in order to form codices. Codices were an improvement on the papyrus scroll as the papyrus was not strong enough to fold without cracking and a long roll, or scroll, was required to create large volume texts. Papyrus had the advantage of being relatively cheap and easy to produce, but it was fragile and susceptible to both moisture and excessive dryness. Unless the papyrus was of good quality, the writing surface was irregular, and the range of media that could be used was also limited. By ...
