  • CATALYTIC CONVERTER Catalytic Converter What is a catalytic converter? A Two-Way catalytic converter, used on American cars between 1975 - 1980, oxidizes unburned harmful hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide into water and carbon dioxide. The first vehicles with catalytic converters had Two-Way reduction only capabilities. A Three-Way converter is a triple purpose converter. It reduces nitrous oxides into nitrogen and oxygen. And, like the two-way converter, it oxidizes unburned harmful hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide into water and carbon dioxide. A Three-Way + Air catalytic converter performs the same functions as the Three-Way converter. It oxidizes and reduces. The difference is the addition of secondary air between the two internal catalyst substrates that improves the oxidation capabilities of the converter. The secondary air is pumped into the middle of the converter between two separate catalyst coated ceramic substrates. The front ceramic performs the reduction and the back ceramic performs the oxidisation. Its like having two catalytic converters in one. CATALYTIC CONVERTER

  • "Thermal wonderland" Patandsaoyuth's photos around Rotorua, New Zealand A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Rotorua, New Zealand by TravelPod blogger Patandsaoyuth titled "Thermal wonderland". TravelPod is a company of TripAdvisor™. Patandsaoyuth's travel blog entry: "Thermal wonderland Rotorua is probably the most touristy spot in the north island. It's like Queenstown, full of adrenaline bound activities but it has attractions of its own right: thermal pools and geisers, Maori shows, and zorbing. For those interested in kiwi culture ;-), zorbing is the name for rolling downhill in a giant rubber ball. Placed inside the ball, you are tumbled like in a washing machine. Fun to watch but absolutely silly! Yeah, a bit like bungy jumping but for sissies!!! The area sourrounding Rotorua is renowned for its thermal activity, so it's common to see from the road, columns of steam coming out of the bushes. It was not only a feast for the eyes but also one for the nose: rotten egg smells everywhere, even into town! We visited one of the main sites for thermal pools : Wai-o-tapu. It's well worth seeing once in a lifetime those colourful hot pools, smelly pots of boiling muds and other steamy holes. The colours are created by pure minerals that have been pushed to the surface resulting in colourful oxidisation: phosphorescent yellow sulfur, purple manganese oxide, green ferrous salt, orange antimony etc. We missed out on the geizers unaware that it blows only once, at the same time everyday... There were still plenty of things to enjoy ...
  • the 10 WORST cars made in Britain and Europe The 10 worst cars ever made in Britain and Europe. This is a video response to littlegalah's top ten worst cars ever made vid He tagged me, and asked me to make this video, so I did. Here, in my opinion are the top 10 worst cars to be made in Britain or Europe, over the past 40 years. Obviously, some may disagree with my choices, but this is my video, and I can't be wrong can I? 10, Rover 214/216 A very popular car in the UK with some good reasons; they were well made, well equipped, and drove better than the competition offered up by Ford, Vauxhall and most of the European motors. But, while their 2-litre M and T-series engines were strong and reliable, they cut corners with the smaller 1.4 and 1.6 K-series engines, and cylinder head-gaskets failed like chavs sitting English exams. Rover went on to bugger up their 1.8 and V6 engines and before long they became a bit of a joke, shame. 9, Triumph Dolomite Sprint In the 1970's, Triumph were the British BMW, they made keen driver's cars that were handsome and ahead of their time, but the UK's workforce were too busy drinking cups of tea to realise they were flushing the car industry down the toilet. 8, Renault Megane Style over substance must be the motto at Renault, as you can't deny they are quite forward thinking when it comes to design and innovation, plus safety has been something they have to shout about too. But, if they are not careful they will lose many a loyal follower because of reliability issues ...

  • Asphalt Preservation - Pothole Prevention Solution from ASI Solutions. Rhinophalt The latest Rhinophalt process video from ASI Solutions plc, highlighting the recent work on the M40 motorway in the UK. Likened to a wood preservative for asphalt, Rhinophalt is a revolutionary process that significantly extends the life of asphalt and macadam. Rhinophalt protects the surface from weathering, oxidisation and traffic use and, following application, effectively halts the deterioration of the bituminous surface. With repeat applications every five to seven years, Rhinophalt is a completely sustainable and extremely cost-effective process. By giving asphalt a longer life, it reduces traffic disruption, aggregate waste and extraction, lorry movements and -- most significantly -- it reduces whole life costs in road maintenance. Rhinophalt is suitable for all asphalt surfaces including roads and carriageways, airport runways and taxiways, car parks, platforms, docks and ports. Rhinophalt is the only HAPAS and BBA approved road preservation process, granted HAPAS approval in 2007. Industries preserve many assets on installation such as street furniture and wooden structures and a treatment of Rhinophalt on installation of asphalt surface would preserve it for up to 5 years. Benefits of ASI-Rhinophalt Significantly extends functional life of surface Suitable for all asphalt and macadam and surface dressing Minimises interim maintenance Quick and convenient to apply Low cost sustainability Savings of CO2 emissions compared to conventional maintenance Fast cure ...

  • What Is Argon What Is Argon Name Origin Greek: Argos (inactive). "Argon" in different languages. Sources Argon makes up 1% of the air and is isolated by removing nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and water from air. Argon is constantly being formed from the radioactive decay of radioactive potassium-40. Abundance Universe: 200 ppm (by weight) Sun: 70 ppm (by weight) Atmosphere: 9300 ppm Earth's Crust: 1.2 ppm Seawater: 0.45 ppm Uses Argon is used for lighting, it is also used in plasma globes. It is also used to provide an inert atmosphere for certain projects when explosion or other forms of oxidation may pose a problem. Also used in "Geiger" counters, which measure radiation levels. Blue argon lasers are used in surgery to weld arteries, destroy tumors, and to correct eye defects. Due to its inert qualities, it is commonly used by museum conservators to protect old materials or documents, which are prone to gradual oxidisation in the presence of air. • Scatola del tempo_EN.wmv The story of Scatola del Tempo A PASSION FROM THE START The creation of Scatola del Tempo goes back to the end of the 1980s and was serendipitous, as it happened, not as a result of a conscious diversification of an existing business, or even a marketing decision. Scatola del Tempo was born from the desire and inventiveness of a watch collector, Sandro Colarieti, who needed watch boxes of a quality standard that would match that of his watch collection. Unable to find such boxes in the market place, he decided to make them for himself, using local craftsmen and the finest quality materials. Initially, he made a small series of boxes, giving those he did not need for himself to friends. After a while, requests from others for similar watch boxes started arriving. This is how Scatola del Tempo, with its "Made in Italy" luxury products, was born and is now known and appreciated across five continents. This story is all about objects that are designed with a real depth of knowledge about what they are destined to contain. It is about pure quality, employing the hand skills of the best craftsmen, using the best leather and the most prestigious silks, woven in the Colarieti's family textile company and it is about innovative technical solutions to match the classic taste and elegance of the boxes. In the production cycle, everything starts with the design of the internal shapes and sizes, in such a way as to accommodate almost all styles of watch available today, for storage ...

It is a fascinating task that involves pulling apart the barrel, shaving back each stave and re-assembling the barrel before allowing it to dry and re-toasting the inside. This gets rid of the tartrate that builds up on the inside of the barrels, restores some of the barrel's toasty flavours and ensures that the oxidisation process is able to take place. • Meditrox whole room decontamination system Meditrox is an innovative UK technology company who specialise in whole room decontamination within medical markets. Meditrox has just launched a new system to decontaminate hospital rooms from well known super bugs such as MRSA and C Difficile. The system combines water and oxygen to generate a dry ozone vapour which rapidly and permeates all elements of the room. This advanced oxidisation process produces highly active hydroxyl free radicals that attack and destroy pathogenic cells. A unique purge system eradicates all residual ozone from the atmosphere at the end of the decontamination cycle, leaving the room ready for immediate occupation. This breakthrough makes the novel process deadly to pathogens but safer for patients and hospital environments.
