PHACO Surgery.MPG Lens in the eye focuses light on the retina. Opacities of the lens are called cataract. Cataract may be present at birth or occur due to injury, but the most common cause is related to age (Senile Cataract) and is the reason for visual disability of the elderly. Quick visual recovery, early ambulation are the characteristics of the modern day cataract surgery. Advanced Phaco emulsification is the most popular method to remove cataract these days at NIO and most of the surgeries at NIO are done under topical anaesthesia ie We use anaesthetic drops to numb the eye so that patients do not feel the pain during the procedure. It also avoids anaesthesia related complications. This technique is especially popular in patients who fear having to take an injection near the eye. The patients are usually discharged on the same day of the surgery. Wide range of intraocular lenses is made available for the patients to suit their needs. Our efficient counselors will assist you in making the appointments for the surgery. Premium Intra Ocular Lenses like Aspheric IOL, Toric IOLs and Multifocal IOLs etc are made available to our patients as per their needs.

How to colorize a drawing On photoshop / speedpaint a basic tutorial time taken: roughly 1 hour, not including the traditional version here's what i wrote on the notepad while editing: Hello! i'm going to show you how I make things on photoshop! Step 1: Open the file (duh) step 2: make 2 new layers step 3: lock the layer he scanned image is on 4: usae the paint bucket to fill the bottom new layer you made (white is the best option) 5: make that layer's opacity low (50% should do) 6: lock the layer 7: on the seccond layer, start drawing the lines! 8: turn the opacity on the white layer t 100% and do some touchups as needed 9: duplicate the line layer, and make invisible (lock the lines layer at this step) 10: on this layer, fill the inside and touch it up as needed 11: put this layer on tranparency lock, and change it to a light color 12:make the top layer visible and turn it's opacity down to make it look easyier on the eyes 13: on the filled layer, color it as you please! 14: smudge it all up! (note to what bruch i use, and the strength!) 15: time for shading! iyou can do this before OR after you color.. i usually shade first, but sometimes it's best to shade after, so you can compare and see what it looks like on the colors before you even finalize it. sometimes i duplicatre the layer and turn it back to mid-grey so the colors don't influence me too much 16: make 2 layers, name ome light and dark, you can do either one first, it doesn't matter 16.a: for light, use WHITE and color everywhere it would be light, don't worry ...

Are People Dangerously Ignorant Of Wireless Electronic Radiation Part 4 People swear that a certain brand of bottled water keeps them healthy (?) They carry a bottle of water in one hand and a cancer and tumor causing cell phone in the other. Still not convinced? One study found a direct correlation between RF exposure and health/eye problems. Below is a portion of the study's abstract which is too lengthy to reproduce here. (A link to it is provided at the end of this essay.) "Mejewska (46) studied 200 workers who were exposed to 0.6-10.7 GHz and 200 control individuals: a statistically significant increase in lens opacities in the exposed individuals was found. The severity of the disease increased with the duration of exposure. In another study, which involved 600 workers and an age-matched control group of 300 individuals (47), it was found that exposure to 0.3-300 GHz correlated with an increased incidence of a specific kind of lens opacity. Appleton surveyed military personnel who had been exposed to microwave EMFs and found a trend in older age groups toward a greater incidence of opacities among exposed personnel (48). Odland (49) also studied the relation between exposure to military radars and ocular anomalies. There were 377 exposed individuals and 320 controls: among the exposed workers who had a family history of eye diseases, it was found that the incidence of eye defects was almost twice as great as that among the controls who had such a family history. Among 68 electronics ...

Photoshop Tutorial: Drawing a realistic Sun Tutorial on how to draw a realistic sun in Photoshop CS3. I apologise if this tutorial is hard to follow, but if you follow it correctly, you shouldnt have any problems. Leave a comment with any questions or whatever you might have. Written Tutorial: Step 1: Create a new 1000 x 1000px document, and fill it with black. Create a new layer, and call it 'Sun 1'. In the new layer, create a large circular selection, and fill it with clouds. Filter - Render - Clouds. THEN with difference clouds. Filter - Render - Difference Clouds. Invert the colour (Ctrl+I) and bring up the levels box (Ctrl+L) Move the middle node all the way to the right, and you should have something that looks a lot like lightening. Step 2: Go to Filter - Distort - Spherize, and leave the values at 100%. Do this twice before proceeding. Step 3: Go to Filter - Stylize - Find Edges. You should have something that looks kinda like a snowball? Invert the color (Ctrl+I) and bring up the Hue/Saturation box (Ctrl+U). MAKE SURE THE 'COLORIZE' BOX IS TICKED!!! Move the Saturation all the way up to 100%, but leave the Hue as it is. You should now have a red lava-type pattern. Step 4: Duplicate the 'Sun 1' layer, (Ctrl+J) and again, bring up the Hue/Saturation box. (Again, make sure the Colorize box is checked.) Again, set the Saturation to 100%, but this time, set the Hue to 40. You should have a very warm yellow/Gold color. Set the 'Sun 1 copy' layer's blending mode to 'Linear Dodge (Add)', and your sun should start ...

Collapse of a Molecular Cloud Collapse of a Molecular Cloud This is the result of a PovRay trace of an SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics) simulation. The SPH simulation covers the collapse of a molecular cloud of three solar masses and a radius of 0.6 pc to a protostar and circumventing accretion disk. Actually, particles accreted onto the star are not part of the simulation any more, consequently the star itself doesn't appear in the ray-traced images. The ray tracer used is PovRay 3.5. The purpose of this tracing is not a physical model that accurately reproduces photometry at various wavelengths or other fancy physical parameters. The idea is to visualize the development of density and size scales during the collapse. No dust model (opacities, size distribution etc.) is assumed for the ray tracer. The colours seen in the image do not correspond to any actual wavelengths. The density calculated by the SPH code is translated into a scattering and absorbing medium. Rayleigh scattering is modelled with scattering coefficients of 0.5 for the "red" channel, 0.7 for the "green" channel, and 0.9 for the "blue" channel. The same coefficients are applied for the absorption. You realize that in priciple it would be possible to adapt to "real physics" quite well at this step. In the second part of the simulation (during the flight into the cloud), the temperature field delivered by SPH is represented by an emitting medium where total emission is proportional to T^4. The colour of the emission is represented ...

HOT SPOTS, Cellular Towers, Mobile Antennas, Are they hazardous? Part 2 Cordless Phones Health Rsks : Blue tube headset : Our bodies may also have localized internal hot spots. Due to the variable shape, size and thickness of our skulls and dependent on our particular resonance to the frequency of the RFR regions of relatively high absorption can occur at or near the center of the brain causing internal hot spots, which can result in tissue damage long before the overall body temperature shows a measurable increase. Due to a lack of adequate vascular systems for the exchange of heat our eyes are also most susceptible to harm from RFR exposure, which can result in protein coagulation and opacities in the lens. The male testes are another organ particularly susceptible because there is no direct blood supply and therefore no way of dissipating heat. According to the BioInitiative Report, the RFR level we evolved with was a billionth of a microwatt per centimeter squared (10 --12 µW/cm In 1997 the background RFR levels measured by Ed Mantiply of the FCC at areas on the ground near towers had increased 0.003 to 0.3 µW/cm A survey by Sage Associates in 2000 found RFR levels within 300 feet from cell towers to range from 0.01 to 3.0 µW/cm And an RFR survey near cell towers in Germany in 2002 found RFR levels of 0.02 to 10 µW/cm These readings were the highest at homes that were closest to and in direct line of sight of the transmitting antennas. More recently, transmitters installed by T-Mobile on utility poles in ...

ORBIS EyeReport 4 - Meet Bello on the ORBIS FEH - Niger 2010 Dear all I am very excited to bring you the fourth EyeReport of the year - and final from Niger - about a young girl we've come to know as Bello. Bello turned up to our rural outreach screening program in Libore and immediately captured our attention and our hearts. Bello had congenital cataracts for most of her life (she is only 7 now) and was fortunate enough to have cataract surgery some time ago. However, as you will learn from this video, Bello still suffers from avoidable blindness due to capsular opacities. We scheduled Bello to be examined by Dr. Sherif El-Defrawy, from Ontario, Canada during the Flying Eye Hospital program and he made the decision to perform a laser procedure that would significantly help this beautiful young girl see again. One of the final acts of this Niger program was to secure and deliver to Bello very powerful, and much needed, eyeglasses to complement her surgery aboard the Flying Eye Hospital, giving her the gift of sight. But I will let Dr. El-Defrawy host you through this little girls journey with ORBIS Internationals Flying Eye Hospital. produced by: Perry Athanason/ORBIS International

Floaters and Flashes Floaters are entoptic images of opacities in the vitreous. Entoptic image is a visual perception that is produced by structures within the eye - in this case vitreous opacities. Patients complain of small specks or dots that can be seen against a bright background such as a diffusely illuminated wall or the blue sky. Sometimes fine dark lines in amorphous mass - like small branching twigs - are seen. These floaters move around and are also called 'muscae volitantes' because they seem to dart about like flies as the eye is moved. Over time you will become less aware of these floaters as the brain learns to ignore these retinal images. Therefore, while some floaters may remain in your vision, many of them will fade over time and become less bothersome. Floaters, if present since a long time or increasing in number very gradually, are harmless. They may be annoying but do not cause any problems. However if a new floater comes on abruptly or if there is a sudden increase in the number of floaters, then you must be examined immediately to rule out a retinal tear.

Black and White Conversion This is a method I found called the Gormon/Holbert Method. I believe it was for use with CS2/3 so I had to fudge a few things for Photoshop Elements 6.0. This would probably also work with Elements 5.0. I've used it with Portraits and Landscapes and the only thing I change between the two is the opacities of the different layers. This is my first attempt at a video of this kind..so bear with me if I sound like a moron. :)

Vitrectomy for Vitreous Opacities (Floaters) Vitreous floaters can be a sign of a serious retinal disease. They are very uncommon in people under 40 years old. If you have new floaters, especially if you are young, you need to see a retina specialist immediately. You might have a serious infection or inflammatory disease. If you are in the US, you can find a retina specialist at . If you are in Europe, you can look for a retina specialist at: . Removal of vitreous floaters using 25 gauge vitrectomy, This 64 year old woman had cataract surgery 7 years previously. She was followed in our practice with bothersome floaters for the past 6 years. She described sheets of gauze like floaters that would intermittently obstruct her vision. They did not clear with observation. Her left eye had vitrectomy for floaters 3 months ago and the patient was thrilled. This video is of the vitrectomy in the right eye. Floaters clear on their own almost all of the time. Even patients with persistent floaters usually adjust to them. Their is a small group of patients with sheet like floaters and veils that affect their visual function and do not clear even after waiting over a year. In this situation, it is acceptable to consider vitrectomy surgery. Vitrectomy does carry a risk of retinal detachment, infection and bleeding. So the risk of surgery has to be balanced with the potential benefit. This patient understood that and chose to have surgery and was thrilled with the result.
