Great dupe for Organic Root Stimulator's Lock & Twist Gel or *** Coily Curling Custard but less expensive. The gel provides the ability to stick and define the style, while the oils nourish and seal the hair. Substitute any oil you like (Grapeseed, Jojoba, etc.). I wouldn't suggest Shea or Coconut unless they've been permanently liquefied, other wise they might re-solidify and ruin your mix. Recipe: 1/2 cup - Eco Styler Gel 1 tbsp - Olive Oil 1 tbsp - Castor Oil 1 tbsp - Avocado Oil Put Eco gel into a bowl, mix in each oil separately. Thoroughly mix the oil in the gel before adding the second oil. Cover and place in cool place. This does not need to be refrigerated as the ingredients used do not require refrigeration. If over time the mix begins to separate, just stir. Use for twists, twist outs, to smooth edges, etc. A little goes a long way.

  • ALL NATURAL SKINCARE: OIL CLEANSING METHOD This video is being sponsored by How to Clean Your Face Naturally The Oil-Cleansing Method (OCM) Alright, it might sound a little odd to clean your face with an oil, especially if you have oily skin. But contrary to popular belief, oil does not cause oily skin or acne. That culprit is usually a combination of hormones, trapped bacteria, and dirt. Like your hair, the sebum that the skin secretes is actually good for your skin — its there to protect it from the outside environment, and to keep harmful things from seeping in. Since water doesnt break up oil, most commercial cleansers are marketed with the oil free stamp of approval, making them Oil dissolves oil. • GULF OIL SPILL BP's Oil Dispersants - itopf Dispersants have two main components: a surfactant and a solvent. Surfactants molecules are made up of two parts: an oleophilic part (with an attraction to oil) and a hydrophilic part (with an attraction to water). When dispersants are sprayed onto an oil slick, the solvent will transport and distribute the surfactants through the oil slick to the oil/water interface where they arrange themselves so that the oleophilic part of the molecule is in the oil and the hydrophilic part is in the water. This creates a reduction in the surface tension at the oil/water interface and small oil droplets will break away from the oil slick with the help of wave energy. These droplets will be of varying sizes and although the larger ones may rise back to the surface some will remain in suspension and will drift apart and become degraded by naturally occurring bacteria. If dispersion is successful, a characteristic brown plume will spread slowly down from the water surface a few minutes after treatment. Dispersants have little effect on very viscous, floating oils, as they tend to run off the oil into the water before the solvent can penetrate. As a general rule, dispersants are capable of dispersing most liquid oils and emulsions with viscosities of less than 2000 centistokes, equivalent to a medium fuel oil at 10-20ºC. They are unsuitable for dealing with viscous emulsions (mousse) or oils which have a pour point near to or above that of the ambient temperature. Even those oils which ...

  • Fats And Oils How natural fats ended up being replaced by Frankenstein fats. From the documentary "Fat Head."
  • The Dangers of Trans Fats, (partially) Hydrogenated Oils, Trans Fatty Acids Trans fats are artificially produced fats that are very unhealthy. The consumption of trans fats is one of the main causes for the current obesity epidemic. Trans fats are used in thousands of food products. The health risks of trans fats include hart disease, obesity, cancer, clogged arteries, high cholesterol, diabetes, birth defects, allergies in children, etc. Food manufactures use (partially) hydrogenated oils because it increases the shelf life of their products. This means less spoilage, less loss and therefore more profit! In addition, products with trans fat tend to taste quite good. Trans fats are used in fast food, chips, baked goods, french fries, etc. Trans fats are produced through the hydrogenation of vegetable oils such as sunflower and soybean oil. During this chemical process hydrogen molecules are added to the oil molecules and the oil becomes solid as is the case with margarine. When consuming natural fats, it takes the body 18 days to metabolize half of them. When consuming trans fats, it takes the body 51 days to metabolize half of them. This means that half of the trans fats you eat will still be in your body 51 days later! No wonder obesity has become such an epidemic. Food products will contain trans fat if they include any of the following ingredients: (partially) hydrogenated oil or fat, shortening, margarine. Butter also contains a small amount of natural trans fat. This is not as harmful as the man ...

  • Fish Oil Facts For more info visit my site at: Fish Oil Facts. What's the correct dose? How do I know if the correct dose is in the caps I buy and use? Learn that and more in this vid! Speaking of fish oils supplements, it's a perfect example of how one can compare labels and doses to see if (1) they are getting the correct dose for the effects they desire (eg, the therapeutic dose) and (2) if the product is actually cost effective compared to another. Quality issues not withstanding, do you actually look at the % of active lipids EPA and DHA when you buy fish oil supplements? Retailers are betting you don't...What's the better deal: A product that is 30% active lipids for $20 for 100 1g caps vs. say a product that is 50% active lipids containing the same 100 1g caps for $25? clearly, the latter product is the better deal but the first is cheaper. Two, are you looking at the % of active lipids to make sure you are taking enough to have an effect? If not, you are short changing yourself both physically and financially. In either of my ebooks for example, I attempt to not only teach people which supplements actually work, but how to learn to read labels, so they are educated consumers, able to save money on the supplements they purchase. • Oil-Based Finish Basics Oil-based finishes are typically the first type of finish we confront as woodworkers, be it straight oil or a can polyurethane. Although they are all derived from oil, these finishes can vary widely in terms of application method, durability, and maintenance. The key to understanding these finishes is to understand their ingredients. With that foundation in your tool belt, you can start looking at ingredients lists instead of brand names and labels, and youll know exactly what to expect from the finish. Since this is a live session, we have a bunch of viewer questions in the video as well. Topics include: * What is oil? * What is varnish? * What is the relationship between varnish and polyurethane? * The relative durability of oils, varnishes, and oil/varnish blends. * How to see past marketing jargon. * Why I like Arm-R-Seal.
