The enemy counterattacks are fierce, but you will have a near unlimited amount of tactical aid points and the option to use any type of support you choose, so you shouldnt be in too much trouble, it isnt even nessicary to repair tanks at the end as long as you didnt lose very many over the course of the mission, just focus on the artillery and the flanking soviets, repairing is a tertiary concern at that point and you should be in the clear. On to the mission, it was actually alot easier than i expected, the key seems to be preventing the villages from falling to the zerg, at first i thought that it would be ideal to do this, seeing as the villages continually are attacked if you save them, but if you let them all fall, the main zerg bases start sending nasty attack forces (ultralisks, brood lords, etc.) at you instead of the relatively weak lings/hydras/infested that i dealt with. For base defense i only needed 1 siege tank, and 1 bunker with 2 marines and 1 firebat on each side of my base, when they throw air units at you, you will probably find it nessicary to have your vikings help in countering, but that shouldnt be a problem since you will need 15-20 to defend the villages. Your attack force should be mostly vikings and 4-6 siege tanks, i was shocked that the merc siege tanks are as tough as they are, i didnt lose one throughout the entire mission so they are a definate buy for assaulting the hives. Throw in some hellions/firebats and 2-3 medics (and science vessels or scvs), and you will be all set. If the mood strikes you, i think its possible to take down the lowest zerg base with just vikings, i didnt see any spore colonies, everywhere else is gonna take a ground force. I actually get 5 ...

The hardest part of this mission is probably taking the saw mill, driving through the city can be rough espically if the USSR helicopters start to trail you. I'm not sure how to counter this, possibly leave the steel bridge north of your second objective upright although its possible that it will go down by the enemy artillery anyways.   • Battlestations Pacific US campaign walkthrough Mission 2: Battle of Cape Esperance (Part 1) Game: Battlestations: Pacific System: Xbox 360 Campaign: USA Walkthrough of mission 2. I have fixed the skipping problems, for now. Part 1 Hidden objectives: Take out the enemy convoy ships; Towards the end of the mission you will notice that a group of ships are trying to sneak past an island to the south. Destroy all the ships in that area to get the hidden objective. There will be another MAIN objective at the same time telling you to destroy an oiler convoy as you get this objective. If you want to comeplete it you have to do so before you take out the oiler convoy or the mission will end and you will not have comepleted the hidden objective. Secondary objectives: Order a ship to save the crew; you can't directly order any of you ships to "rescue" the crew, but just give an order to a ship to go near the ship that is sinking. When you get near it an enemy ship will appear. Destroy it and move close enough to the ship and you should get the secondary objective. Completing this mission on any difficulty will unlock the Atlanta class cruiser. Getting a gold on this mission (completing ALL the objectives) does not get anything else besides that.
