  • Power Assisted Manual Conveyors In many material handling applications, the accumulation (non-synchronous) of products and the switching or routing of products between tracks may be required. Traditional power and free conveyor systems can easily do this but may be cost prohibitive. PACLINE has designed a manual gravity rail and trolley system that is combined with a powered PAC-LINEā„¢ (Model C-250) overhead chain conveyor resulting in a semi-automated system. Although this system is not fully automatic, in situations where some manual assistance by operators is acceptable then this approach may be suitable and highly cost effective. Gravity may be employed to accumulate items on carriers, provided some bumping of carriers is not problematic. In addition, pneumatic or manual assist switches can be used where operators push items through the switch. Our experienced PACLINE engineers would be happy to discuss your specific application and how this system might benefit your operation.

  • AMC Mod 5 Heavy Duty Conveyor AMC's new Modu-Con 5 Series is the latest addition to our family of modular conveyor systems. Designed with versatility and affordability in mind, the Modu-Con 5 is the most affordable two-level power & free palletized conveyor system on the market today. The Modu-Con 5 modular system is well suited for applications where floor space is limited and/or the use of elevators is not desired. Its space saving design eliminates the need for costly elevators and related controls needed to operate a typical two-level system. AMC's Modu- 5 Conveyor is a non-synchronous pallet system used for operating pallets in an in-line over-and-under configuration. Unlike other conveyor systems where the pallets run off the ends into a pneumatic or electric elevator, a pallet on the Modu-Con 5 system enters into a trapped sprocket style arrangement. The space saving design eliminates the need for costly elevators and the additional controls needed to operate a typical two-level system. Pallets can be linked together reducing the swing arc to accommodate larger products and lower system heights. Stops and locate stations are available to complete your process requirements. Modular track lengths are standard at 1-meter increments and can be easily expanded to meet future needs. The Modu-Con 5 is constructed utilizing heavy-duty anodized aluminum-extruded beams, hardcoat aluminum pallets, high capacity accumulation roller chain,a dn high-efficiency electric grearmotot drives. This system is ideal ...

  • Cracking The Ice on Europa - Alyssa Rhoden (SETI Talks) Europa's surface records a complex history of geologic activity including fracture systems driven by tidal stress, which varies daily as Europa executes its eccentric orbit. Obliquity, physical libration, and non-synchronous rotation would also contribute to the pattern of tidal stress on Europa. Hence, we can use observed fracture systems to constrain these rotational parameters. Using cycloids and strike-slip faults, Dr. Rhoden has been able to probe Europa's rotation state and uncover the first geologic evidence of non-negligible obliquity. Dr. Rhoden will present this case for obliquity and physical libration and implications for non-synchronous rotation and polar wander. In addition, she will present a model she has developed for a fault's response to tidal stress that accurately predicts the slip direction of 75% of strike-slip faults identified in an extensive survey of Europa imagery.

  • 2001 Ford Taurus 0 - 60 MPH in 9.06 seconds with the Vulcan engine Bone stock 2001 Ford Taurus SES with the outdated 3.0L Vulcan in an E85 Flex Fuel compatible configuration rocking out 150 odd HP and 180 lb*ft of torque. E85, however, has never been put into the car, this run is with regular 87 octane gasoline. The stretch of road goes straight, then curves when the car hits ~50 MPH. Only thing in the interior was the driver's seat and rear passenger bench. No carpets, no passenger seat, console, etc. The car has nice, grippy Goodyears inflated to 40 PSI each and a litttle bit more than a 100000 miles on the engine, body, and transmission. The car has the non-synchronous transmission. The intake silencer was removed to deepen the engine's noise (only the keenest ear would be able to hear a difference in this video, though.). The engine and tires were warm, the car was at a complete stop when the video clip begins. The temperature was around 78 degrees Fahrenheit with low wind. These factors combined lead to an impressive ~9 second run, only a second shy of a new 2000s Taurus with the 200HP/200lbft Duratec engine. The 07 and beyond Tauruses are much faster, of course. 60 MPH is considered a needle straight up on the speedometer and 4000 RPM. NOT the inaccurate "60 MPH" mark that is really 58 MPH and off to the left of center. Times were determined by scrutinizing the video frame by frame. Apologies for the ugly timestamp. Update: Premiere is refusing to export my end title. (mm:ss:ff) 00:09:10 - 00:00:08 = 09:02 or 9.06 seconds @ 29.97 FPS

Source- www.jpl.nasa.gov 'Jupiter's moon Europa may be a habitable world. Evidence points strongly to a global subsurface ocean beneath an ice shell. The paucity of large craters argues for a surface age of only 60 million years, implying that Europa is still geologically active. Tidal flexing and nonsynchronous rotation of the floating ice shell generate stresses that can fracture and deform the surface to create Europa's troughs, ridges, and bands. Europa's astonishing geology and astrobiological potential make it a top priority for spacecraft exploration.'

  • Structures Sonores Rediffusion Structures Senores Rediffusion is an ambient, original music collage experimentation created almost entirely on the Korg R3 synthesizer. The piece explores ring-modulated sequences, non-synchronised rhythms, chords and surreal/ethereal pads placed within a structured framework. Within the multitrack session, a rhythm track created on the Hammerhead Rhythm Station was processed with a heavy reverb. To this an atonal melodic sequence loop was placed. This is a dual-timbre sound whereby each oscillator is ring-modulated by its neighbour. Each timbre is further ring-modulated creating double ring-modulation and sequenced, pitch-transposed and played as a short arpeggiated block whose swing time is skewed to a significant degree. Short "Balinese" ring-modulated variations on the first sequence were added at regular intervals. An additional short ring-modulated sequence was spliced onto an asynchronous synthesized percussive sound and this arrangement was repeated at every third "Balinese" ring-modulated sequence. Next came an organ timbre whose waveforms were not tuned to strict octave intervals. Another ethereal organ-like sequence loops twice. This timbre is a strange and beautiful chord-like shimmering tone created by the Korg R3 DWGS waveforms tuned to non-octave intervals. Finally, a chordal string pad was placed underneath all the other tracks and stereo-panned the full 180 degrees approximately every minute. The piece concludes leaving only a dark pad bass and the ...

  • Psychadelic Kaleidoscopic Two Camera Feedback Loop A video feedback loop created with two cameras pointing at the same screen, and connected to it via a simple non-synchronous mixer. The cameras are a JVC Everio GZ-MG330 (which filmed the screen and had just enough presence in the video mix to create a higher level of distortion than would have been achieved with one camera) and a Sony Handycam Hi8 (which created the feedback loop and was used to zoom and pan on the screen creating a wider variety of effects). The TV is a Sony Bravia KDL-40 E 5510 E F-HD, but better effects are possible with CRT type TVs. The mixer used to blend the video signals is a very simple non-synchronised unit comprising switches to switch each cameras signal in or out of the mix, and a 1k potentiometer to adjust the mix.
  • Sangamo watch clock movement This is the movement that is behind the dial on a Sangamo Gallery Clock which I am selling on eBay. It is rare and is designed to run when the AC power is off frequency or is down for a period of time. It was made for a few years, ca 1927. The advent of the synchronous Telechron movements and well regulated power stations made these obsolete.
