SPONTANEOUS Yoga-like activity after Muscle Repositioning maneuver.wmv During a Muscle Repositioning maneuver the subject starts to show spontaneious movements that builds into an intense self-mantained motor activity, which lasted about 20 min. Some positions are reminiscent of yoga asanas and are non-directed, ie, they emerge spontaneously and the subject just lets them happen. Their self-healing activity is very clear, by their phenotype and by the subject's reports.

Austin Indoor Soccer @ Avila Soccer - Our Little Dribble Class Welcome to Little Dribble, the Avila Soccer program designed for toddlers between the ages of 2 and 5. This high-quality weekly training program uses the Avila method, a unique methodology tailored to the needs of young athletes. The use of a small indoor turf allows maximum action, quickens the pace of training, forces development of reaction skills, and encourages creativity. While many classes often resemble non-directed play therapy, lesson plans are indeed designed to sneak in timing, motor skills, and even tactical awareness. Little Dribble will provide an opportunity for children to learn team work and enhance their developmental coordination and social skills. At this age, children can begin to appreciate the idea of sportsmanship and athleticism. Our mission is to give children an alternative way to experience soccer that is free of competition. It's about tailoring a program to the needs of young athletes so that through the game, they find a sense of mastery and self-development. As each player establishes a rapport with the ball and hones their motor skills, their cognitive abilities also increase within a stress-free, supportive environment. We always have fun, but transition from drill to drill quickly, making sure to include details often overlooked such as rhythm, coordination, creativity, vision, and individual excellence. And here is the best part Parents, don't forget your mat because, we have not forgotten about you. Tuition, which is ...

Patient Success Story: Nancy Miller Nancy Miller's decision to become an altruistic living kidney donor changed the lives of two families one in Maryland, and the other in Minnesota. This ultimately led to a two-way kidney swap which took place on January 7, 2010, between UMMC and the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minnesota. Miller, of Glen Burnie, Md., started this process by deciding to be a non-directed living donor (give a kidney to a person in great need). She offered to donate a kidney to Cindy Wickesser, of Sykesville Md., after learning that she was in kidney failure from her husband Craig, who Miller knew from her work with an electric company. In this interview, Miller shares her story and her thoughts about the importance of living kidney donation. Graphs with Chris Dixon Google Tech Talk February 16, 2011 Presented by Chris Dixon ABSTRACT It has become customary to use "graph" to refer to the underlying data structures at social networks like Facebook. (Computer scientists call the study of graphs "network theory," but on the web the word "network" is used to refer to the websites themselves). A graph consists of a set of nodes connected by edges. The original internet graph is the web itself, where webpages are nodes and links are edges. In social graphs, the nodes are people and the edges friendship. Edges are what mathematicians call relations. Graphs can be implicitly or explicitly created by users. Facebook and Twitter's graphs were explicitly created by users. At Hunch we've created what we call the taste graph. We created this implicitly from questions answered by users and other data sources. Our thesis is that for many activities -- for example deciding what movie to see or blouse to buy -- it's more useful to have the neighbors on your graph be people with similar tastes versus people who are your friends. I'll talk about the rising importance of these types of graphs, and dig deeper into some examples. Chris Dixon is the co-founder of Hunch and the Founder Collective and a personal investor in a number of early-stage technology companies. He lives and works in New York city. This Tech Talk was presented at one of the Google NYC Tech Talk Series. For more information, or to attend future events at the Google NYC Engineering ...

Jesus' Early Years & Mystery Teachings Jesus' Early Years & Mystery Teachings Where was Jesus for the first 30 years of his life and what was he taught? These are among the questions explored when clairvoyant and historian Tricia McCannon joined us Christmas night with Ian Punnett. Citing details that emerged in Dolores Cannon's regression work, Jesus was with the Essenes at age 8. Later, he went to England three different times, traveling by ship. From ages 14-15, he was in Celtic lands studying with the Druids, said McCannon. Then, he traveled east by ship to India, and studied with Hindu teachers, she continued. Around age 20, assassins were sent to kill Jesus, according to documents in the Hemis library, and he fled to a Buddhist monastery where he lived for six years, and was acknowledged as the second Buddha. She talked about her research into the Mystery Schools such as practiced in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Persia, and by the Hindu and Druids. "The bigger picture according to the Mysteries, would be that everything goes through cycles," McCannon noted, adding that we move through 4 ages with different levels of spirit vs. matter-- golden (most spirit), silver, bronze, and the current dark age (least spirit). She also addressed her spiritual work with a group of ascended masters who teach a specific path to the divine: God can be experienced through love, sound, and light. Power of Prayer First hour guest, Bill Sweet, discussed the power of prayer. Interestingly, experiments done with people praying ...
The Sound of Archaeology Made for TAG 2010 (32nd conference of the Theoretical Archaeology Group). For this experimental piece I have taken my own super 8 footage of a familiar archaeological site (Avebury) and decontextualised it using minimal post-production techniques - namely slo-mo, cropping and freeze-frames. The resulting abstract images have then been juxtaposed with newly recorded, non-directed and non-scripted, voice-over. The sound effects originate from a variety of sources. This is a project that I wish to develop further. This is the Sound of Archaeology.

Audio Spotlight Disk Ultrasonic Speaker Avitra LLC Demo Traditional speakers transmit non-directed sound at wavelengths of several feet. This new system, called Audio Spotlight, transmits millimeter-sized, ultrasonic waves in a very narrow beam of sound, which becomes audible as it travels through the air. Audio Spotlight, consists of two major components: a thin, circular transducer(speaker)array, and a signal processor/amplifier. The lightweight, nonmagnetic transducer is about .5 inches (1.0 centimeters) thick, and it typically has an active area 1 foot (30.48 cm) in diameter. It can project a three-degree wide beam of sound that is audible even at distances over 100 meters (328 feet). The signal processor/amplifier are integrated into a system about the size of a traditional audio amplifier, and they use about the same amount of power.

Non-Directed Kidney Donor Meets Recipient and His Family Since birth, Ethan Hatton has battled multiple congenital conditions that eventually caused his kidneys to fail, making a kidney transplant necessary. Because none of his family members were a match, Ethan and his mother Toni Holly had to wait for an anonymous donor to come forward. When Drew Sollenberger expressed his desire to become a non-directed kidney donor, doctors at the University of Maryland Medical Center found his kidney to be a perfect match for Ethan and immediately arranged the transplant for January 19, 2011. In this short video, we see Drew and Ethan meet for the first time. Recent Developments in Deep Learning Google Tech Talk March 19, 2010 ABSTRACT Presented by Geoff Hinton, University of Toronto. Deep networks can be learned efficiently from unlabeled data. The layers of representation are learned one at a time using a simple learning module that has only one layer of latent variables. The values of the latent variables of one module form the data for training the next module. Although deep networks have been quite successful for tasks such as object recognition, information retrieval, and modeling motion capture data, the simple learning modules do not have multiplicative interactions which are very useful for some types of data. The talk will show how to introduce multiplicative interactions into the basic learning module in a way that preserves the simple rules for learning and perceptual inference. The new module has a structure that is very similar to the simple cell/complex cell hierarchy that is found in visual cortex. The multiplicative interactions are useful for modeling images, image transformations, and different styles of human walking. Speaker bio: www.cs.toronto.edu

The radio compass The radio compass The radio compass is a device, applied mainly in aviation for radio navigation. Unlike the magnetic compass it points the direction to the terrestrial transmitting radio stations and beacons, not to the magnetic pole of the Earth, thus acting as a radio direction finder. This indicating device is equipped with two antennae, the directed (frame) one and the non-directed (pin) one. The line of direction is a circle. The receiving power of the antenna does not depend on the direction of the incoming signal. The receiving power will be maximal for the frame if its plane coincides with the signal direction and it will be minimal if the plane is perpendicular to this direction. If the direction of the signal is opposite it will be phase-shifted. The device performs automatic summation of the signals of the radio station being located, received by both antennae. The commutation of the signal from the frame with the frequency of the supporting generator takes place, as the result of which the voltage on the inlet of the receiver is amplitude modulated.. By comparing the voltages on the outlets of the receiver and the supporting generator the error signal is developed and it enters the watch system. It automatically rotates the frame into the minimum signal position. This direction coincides with the direction for the radio station being located. It is then transmitted to the sagittary indicator, the device actually showing to the pilot the angle between the ...
