It appears from this verse that the moon is one of the stars; therefore the stars that twinkle in the sky also reflect the light of the sun. The theory that there are many suns within the universe is not accepted by Vedic literature. The sun is one, and as by the reflection of the sun the moon illuminates, so also do the stars. Since Bhagavad-gitä indicates herein that the moon is one of the stars, the twinkling stars are not suns but are similar to the moon.kṛṣṇa—sūrya-sama; māyā haya andhakāra yāhāṅ kṛṣṇa, tāhāṅ nāhi māyāra adhikāra "Krsna is bright like the sun. As soon as the sun appears, there is no question of darkness or nescience." Similarly, this verse also describes that by the illumination of all the moons, brightened by the reflection of the Krsna sun, or by the grace of all the devotees of Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the entire world will be illuminated, despite the darkness of Kali-yuga. Context and Content The Eastern spiritual disciplines like Yoga and Tantra do not exist as isolated bodies of knowledge. They were conceived, practiced, and their esoteric source literature was compiled and encoded in the context of an ancient civilization: the Vedic culture—or, as it is called in the Vedas themselves, the civilization of sanatana-dharma. What could it be in this remote place? Vasistha entered into samadhi again and entered infinite consciousness where he saw all universes. Vasistha has gone off on a trip! He sees different universes with different elements and different beings. In some there was no light and therefore no sense of time. Vasistha does not get lost in this infinite diversity. He sees it as a reminder of the infinite nature of consciousness. They are the creation of nescience. The fundamental nature of consciousness is to identify with its own notions. This is creation. Eventually Vasistha sees a celestial woman who was the source of the sigh. She greets him. Vasistha regards her as another manifestation of nescience. Vasistha wants to explore. He's getting caught up in it again but then brings himself back. Enlightenment practice at work! The realisation that everything is imagination. When there is awareness of something we can forget awareness or forget the object and realise awareness. The latter is the fundamental reality. It is pure indivisible infinite consciousness. Rama asks how one established in nirvana can still be subject to the egosense. The egosense never goes away. Our identification with it can diminish. Traditional yoga assumes the reality of the body. In Yoga Vasistha the body is notional. The body can be understood as engagement and interaction with the world. Ego will be involved. This is based on ignorance. When it is investigated it disappears. The world is created by ignorance, nescience. Our nescient notions become consolidated and become our unquestioned reality. Investigate the reality of your beliefs. They are no more than a story. That which is behind the mind and the senses cannot be the seed for what appears to the senses. It gives rise to notions and identification with notions but this can be dropped once it realises itself. Creation is a 'mere fancy'. Ishvara, God. Our reality with respect to the physical world is fundamentally identical to our relationship with a dream. Why are there things going on in MY dreams which I don't like? Why are our dreams not filled with divine bliss? For the same reason our waking state is not filled with divine bliss! The dream/universe seems to have an independent existence.
