Malabsorption Syndrome And Enzymes This imbalance involves the impaired absorption of nutrients, vitamins and minerals by the lining of the small intestine. If the intestinal tract mucosa lining is impaired or there is some blockage to the flow of digested foods through the muscle walls, then absorption becomes a problem. Without the absorption of these nutrients, a domino effect can occur in the system and take many different forms of ill health. Therefore, cleansing and support of the intestinal tract and mucosal lining is imperative. Some people prefer to use Systemic Enzymes to lowered their pain, instead of using aspirin, ibuprofen, celebrex, viox and the rest of the non steroidial anti inflammatory drugs because of the drug side affects. Another fact is as physicians in the US are now discovering, even old scar tissue can be "eaten away" from surgical wounds, pulmonary fibrosis, and kidney fibrosis even keloid years after their formation using it. There are still many health problems that can be cure using this system. http
Cicatricial Pemphigoid Dr. Wendy Levinbook, MD discusses Cicatricial Pemphigoid. See more at PLEASE RATE AND COMMENT!!! Cicatricial pemphigoid (CP) is a rare blistering disease characterized by erosive lesions of the mucous membranes and skin that result in scarring. The mean age of onset is in the early 60's and there is a slight female predominance. There is no known racial or geographic clustering. Other names for this disorder include benign mucous membrane pemphigoid, desquamative gingivitis, and ocular pemphigus. Clinically, oral and conjunctival mucous membranes are most frequently affected and are typically the first sites of involvement. In the mouth, the gingiva, buccal mucosa, and palate are typically involved and patients may present with mucosal erosions or tense blisters. Adhesions may develop in severe disease and gingival involvement can result in loss of teeth. Ocular involvement typically manifests as unilateral or bilateral conjunctivitis or as burning, dryness, or foreign body sensation. Severe disease can lead to scarring and vision loss. Other mucosal sites that may be affected include the nasopharyngeal, laryngeal, esophageal, genital, and rectal mucosa. Cutaneous lesions are present in about one third of patients. The head, neck and upper trunk are most frequently involved. Typically, patients have a few scattered erosions or tense blisters on a red or urticarial base. However, the extent and number of cutaneous lesions is usually small. On electron ...

U 003 Endometriose / endometriosis SD/PAL English: Many physicians consider endometriosis a god-given disease and misjudge what disastrous dimensions the mucosal proliferations may have. There are cases where they spread -- though not malign -- like cancer within the body. Every four weeks a mucosa grows within the womb under the influence of female hormones. It shall support the settling in of the inseminated egg cell. When uterus like tissue is found outside the womb, this is called an endometriosis. Again and again old and viscous menstruation blood flows into the abdomen. Endometriotic lesions do not only affect the reproductive organs but can spread throughout the whole body. Mucosal Waves True vocal folds vibrates at high frequency and its vibrations are invisible on indirect laryngoscopy (IDL) examination. Rigid endoscopy enabled a magnified and clearer view of the vocal folds and its vibrations can be usually seen. However, cycle-to-cycle changes and mucosal waves propagation can only be visualized by using a videostroboscope or high-speed videos. The former technology utilizes an intermittent light flashes close to but not exactly the same frequency of the as vibrating vocal folds to produce an illusion of slow motion effect (NB: exact frequency will give static/still image). Presence of mucosal waves, vocal folds symmetry, and areas of dyskinetic or stiff vocal fold segments can be ***ysed in detail. This examination is very is very useful especially for diagnostic and monitoring purposes. This examination can be supplemented with electoglottography for further voice ***ysis. High speed video is one the state of art technology which allows few thousands of still image to be taken in a second and provide evidence for precise ***ysis of vocal fold dynamic and pathological conditions. Although it is not widely use in day-to-day practice, is going to be of significant leap as a research tool in an established speech lab. This video shows the view of the vibrating vocal folds as taken using videostroboscopy technique. Normal mucosal waves and symmetric adduction are shown clearly. Underlying laryngopharyngeal reflux disease are manifested by redness and ...

Aryepiglottic Cyst Cysts are fluid-filled swellings lined by mucosal lining. It usually contains clear to straw-coloured mucoid material, unless secondarily infected afterwhich it became mucopurulent and rapidly increase in size. The majority of aerodigestive cyst are mucous-retention cyst and benign in nature. Symptoms occur due to mass effect as it enlarges; otherwise it is asymptomatic in the majority of patients. These includes globus sensation, frequent throat clearing, and non-specific coughs. Significantly enlarged cyst may prolapsed into laryngeal inlet or the upper oesophageal opening causing obstructive symptoms. This video clip shows a moderate-sized sessile left ariepiglottic cyst. The vocal folds were normal bilaterally. The arytenoids appears mildly erythematous likely due to silent laryngopharyngeal reflux disease. The cyst can be completely excised using diathermy, radiofrequency device, or carbon dioxide (CO2) laser with an excellent prognosis.

Transurethral resection of the bladder tumour (TURBT) for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer www3 This video from the International Journal of Urology presents a case in TURBT. It is part of an article with 3 videos on "Transurethral resection of the bladder tumour (TURBT) for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer: Basic skills". View the article at the above link and find the videos under Supporting Information of the article. Abstracts: Transurethral resection of the bladder tumour (TURBT) is the standard surgical procedure for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. We believe that all urologists should be trained in this procedure. This DVD provides an overview of TURBT with particular focus on basic skills, including basic surgical techniques such as the obturator nerve block. Important basic surgical skills required for complete TURBT in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer are: (i) resection of all visible tumors; (ii) resection of apparently normal mucosa on the border of the tumor; (iii) resection of the muscle layer at the base of the tumor until normal muscle fibers are visible; (iv) in applicable cases, random biopsy of apparently normal urothelium of the bladder wall and transurethral resection (TUR) biopsy of both sides of the prostatic urethra; and (v) when possible, after these procedures are completed, a different operating surgeon should inspect the bladder lumen to confirm that there are no remaining tumors. In particular, sampling resection should be implemented in apparently normal mucosa for approximately 1 cm around the tumor ...

Mucosal DCs and Blood Flow.avi CX3CR1 positive dendritic cells (DCs) are visualized in Peyers Patch (PP) by using a reporter in which a single allele for CX3CR1 is replaced with EGFP. While under anesthesia, a loop of the distal ileum was exposed, a single incision was made along the anti-mesenteric wall to expose the mucosal surface and visualized via single-photon intravital microscopy. Blood flow is confirmed by intravenous injection of a low molecular weight dextran conjugated to fluorescent Alexa-647 (red). Individual villi filled with DCs (green) are readily discernable while DCs are probing the surrounding the microenvironment (see examples in white circles). Also note that the low molecular weight dye diminishes over time since it is filtered out by the kidney.

Mucosal Lichen Pl*** Dr. James L. Campbell Jr., MD discusses Mucosal Lichen Pl***. See more at PLEASE RATE AND COMMENT!!! Mucosal lichen pl*** may involve the oral or genital mucosa, or both. The most common form is the non-erosive with a white lacy pattern. The erosive form is painful with beefy desquamation. Oral lesions primarily involve the buccal mucosa and lateral edge of the tongue. This may extend to involve the mucosal lip, but rarely extends beyond the vermillion border. Antibodies to hepatitis C are detected in about 30% of patients with mucosal involvement. The penis and vulva may be involved. Itching and burning is intense. Also marked erythema and mucosal fragility are common. Secondary candidiasis occurs frequently, likely as a side effect of topical treatment with topical steroids. Mucosal non-erosive lesions may resemble leukoplakia or candidiasis and penile lesions can be difficult to distinguish from psoriasis papules Erosive lesions should be discerned from pemphigus vulgaris, paraneoplastic pemphigus and a fixed drug eruption.

Contraction of Bronchial Wall Upon Stimulation of Its Mucosa This video shows the bronchial wall constriction effect upon local irritation caused by flexible endoscope tip touching its mucosal surface in an awake subject. The tracheal wall and bronchus are made up of incomplete cartilage rings which are deficient posteriorly. This musculo-membranous portion is supplied by autonomic nervous system. Beta2-adrenergic stimulation causes smooth muscle contraction and reduction in airway diameter with an increase in bronchial glands secretion. What are the newest treatments and technologies used to treat Barretts esophagus? Today we have endoscopic therapies including radiofrequency ablation, cryotherapy, and endoscopic mucosal resection to treat Barretts esophagus. Often times an endoscopic mucosal resection is combined with radiofrequency ablation. The endoscopic mucosal resection removes the unhealthy portion then the radiofrequency ablation removes anything that could develop into a cancer in the future. In all procedures, performed by gastroenterologists, patients go home right afterwards. For more information, call: 1-800-MD-SINAI.
