Cahokia Mounds Feb 2010 SOLARA AN-RA Cahokia Mounds in Illinois, near the border with Missouri, is the site of an ancient 'mound culture' much like Silbury Hill in England. There is also a 'woodhenge' like the one near Stonehenge, and several smaller mounds which look like the 'round barrows' near Avebury. The group who invited me to do a workshop in St. Louis took me here early on the morning of Sunday 7th Feb 2010, and we danced and sang our joy into Gaia in the crunchy pristine snow on the largest mound. It literally charged me like a battery (from a pretty 'dead' state earlier in the morning!) Love and thanks to all who celebrated with me and to all who share our experience as they watch! Robotic laboratory monitors bacteria at undersea mound in Southern California The Environmental Sample Processor (ESP) proved its versatility once again during the summer of 2010, when it detected bacteria at an undersea methane hydrate mound off the coast of Southern California. The movie describes the ESP and this specific expedition. The (Environmental Sample Processor (ESP) is a robotic biochemistry lab that can be placed in the ocean to ***yze genetic material or other organic compounds created by microorganisms in seawater. After performing these ***yses, the ESP can send the results back to shore in real time. Such ***yses can indicate what types of micro-organisms are present in the water around the ESP. The ESP can also detect complex organic materials such as the toxins produced by some red-tide algae. The ESP was developed at MBARI with support from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and the National Science Foundation's Ocean Technology Interdisciplinary Coordination (OTIC) program. The PCR module for the ESP was designed and merged with the ESP with support from NASA's Astrobiology Science and Technology for Exploring Planets (ASTEP) program and from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. The transfer of the ESP technology to Spyglass Biosecurity and McLane Research Laboratories (the manufacturing partner) has been supported by the Packard Foundation, the Moore Foundation, NASA ASTEP, NSF OTIC, and the Center for Microbial Oceanography Research and Education (C-MORE). As the list of contributors above indicates, the development ...

Ancient & Sacred Serpent Mound ~ Possible Birth Place of Humanity ~ Giant Snake & Native Lore Sacred Serpent Mound Ancient Earth Effigy approx. 20000 years old or older. The Birth of Humanity New evidence may produce ground breaking facts as to where the human race came into existence. Located in southern Ohio, USA in Adams County. Connected with Stonehenge & positioned under the constellation of Draco. The coiling spiraled tail sits directly underneath the true astronomical north. The tail its self is over 80 feet across and demonstrates the mathematical principle of phi. Seven coils make up the massive snakes body, each perfectly measured to be exact to each other. The great oval that some call the sun or egg seems to be swallowed by the serpent. This is viewable in person by shadows created at solstice. The oval is nearly 124 feet in length and more than half of that in width. There is a small triangular/pyramid mound located at the end of the oval. Some natives theorize that an alter once stood in this spot. One myth states that a crystal placed here once put out such a brilliant light that will reawaken the Great Thunderbird and restore the land to the people. Some say it will lift the veil between all dimensions and worlds. Once Home of the 7+ foot Adena People (Adena: ie they who require nothing). The Serpent is now known to be a large, ancient meteor impact sight. The walls under and surrounding the ancient mound show the impact by rocks being thrown upward and remnants of green imbedded glass in the loose stones and stone wall. The serpent has recently ...

Lost Worlds: Georgia| Part 6: Ocmulgee Indian Mounds In America's deep South, in the shadow of the modern metropolis of Atlanta, Georgia lies the remnants of Native American civilizations thousands of years old. From great walled cities that predate the pyramids in Egypt to Georgia's own pyramid-building culture that existed when Europeans first arrived, "Lost Worlds: Georgia" proves that the New World was really an Old World. Forget teepees and dream catchers. Georgia's Indians carved marble statues and housed them in temples built atop multi-story earthen pyramids. "Lost Worlds: Georgia" hopes to dispel many of the outdated stereotypes forged by Hollywood of Native Americans. This groundbreaking documentary takes the viewer back through 4000 years of Georgia's prehistory on a tour through the state's most important Native American archaeological sites. Part historical documentary and part travelogue, this tour includes never-before-seen footage of several unique sites. This video excerpt features one such site: Ocmulgee Mounds. Located an hour south of Atlanta, this site features an earthen pyramid over eight stories tall! Watch the video to learn more about this impressive site and visit to learn about even more amazing Native American archaeological sites.

Termite Mounds - Wallace & Gromit's World of Invention Episode 1 Preview - BBC One More on this programme: Dr Rupert Soar and his team have discovered that termites build self-cooling mounds, harnessing the wind to keep the air circulating. Engineers hope that by studying their mounds, which are known to be complex lung-like structures, they can create new buildings which self-cool just like the termite mounds dotted across the landscape in Namibia.

Mound City Blue Blowers: San San Fox Trot (McPhail-Michels) Mound City Blue Blowers Brunswick 2602-A/112-CH CHicago,14.3.1924 Red McKenzie - comb Dick Slevin - kazzo Frank Trumbauer - C-melody sax Jack Bland - bj Here's how Red Mckenzie tells of the birth of The Mound City Blue Blowers. In 1923, Red "was back in his home town, St. Louis, the 'Mound City' from which the Blue Blowers got their name. "I was a bellhop in the Claridge Red said, ". . . and across the street was a place called Butler Brothers Soda Shop. Dick Slevin worked there and there was a little colored shoe-shine boy who used to beat it out on the shoes. Had a phonograph going. I passed with my comb, and played along. Slevin would have liked to play a comb but he had a ticklish mouth, so he used a kazoo. He got fired across the street and got a job in a big soda store. He ran into Jack Bland, who owned a banjo (now known for his guitar), and one night after work they went to his room. He and Slevin started playing. They got me. Gene Rodemich's was a famous band at that time. His musicians used to drop in at the restaurant where we hung out. They were impressed and told their boss. He took us to Chicago to record with his band, as a novelty. When we got to Chicago we went down to the Friars' Inn. About 1924 it was. Volly de Faut and Elmer Schoebel were there. Isham Jones was at the place and he asked us what instruments we were playing. He had us come to his office next day, and set the date for Brunswick. That was the time 2-23-'24 we ...

Killing Joke - Inside The Termite Mound My attitude towards Killing Joke is quite ambivalent. On the one side I really like their great music, their sound - on the other side I´m sick of Jaz Coleman´s political radicalism. But Inside The Termite Mound creates a remarkable dark and sinister atmosphere of "endless construction", comparing some human efforts to the lethal and non-individual collective of a termite mound... However, dear Jaz, I´m not ***ing about the Western civilization as you love to do. All pictures of human ´termite mounds´ shown are from biggest (and tallest) ´endless construction´ sites of the world - Dubai, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Kaohsiung...

SuidAkrA - Dark Mound From SuidAkrA's new album "Book of Dowth" (2011) Hope you enjoy. If you like this, support the band and buy the album! - Concept - When a plague killed almost all the cattle of the land, the people of the Tuatha De Danann called for the help of the druid "Bresal Bó-Díbad". Bresal went inside a tomb to pray to the elder gods for help. However, his prayers were answered by the evil essence of the Fomorians, trapped within the book that was buried there. Possessed by the demonic presence, Bresal asked the people to vow to work for him for one day to build a huge tower to favour the gods. He then summoned his sister who was a powerful sorceress and made her cast a spell to stop the sun at its summit. Thus, he tricked the people to work for him until the Fomorian tower of strength was finished. But when the Fomorians saw his sister, they were overcome with lust and they used Bresal to force themselves upon her. This terrible deed caused the spell to break, and darkness fell over the land. The people instantly returned to their homes and left the tower unfinished. From that day on, the name of the tomb would be "Dubhadh" (darkness). - Band Line-Up - Arkadius "Akki" Antonik - Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards Marcus Riewaldt - Bass Lars Wehner - Drums, Backing Vocals - Lyrics - As storm-clouds gather Above the glades A thunder deafens my howl Of anguish and dismay Remaining here In this sinister tomb I recall the evil deeds That led me to this place Bresal Bó-Díbad was ...

BBC Home Making: Termites Termites build one of the most sophisticated homes in all animals and insects. Jeez, they have a better cooling system than i do or at least a more environment friendly one. hehe. Extra info on Termites : As eusocial insects, termites live in colonies that, at maturity, number from several hundred to several million individuals. They are a prime example of decentralised, self-organised systems using swarm intelligence and use this cooperation to exploit food sources and environments that could not be available to any single insect acting alone. A typical colony contains nymphs (semi-mature young), workers, soldiers, and reproductive individuals of both genders, sometimes containing several egg-laying queens. Termites has one of the most complex of house making techniques. It is called a Mound. In tropical savannas the mounds may be very large, with an extreme of 9 metres (30 ft) high in the case of large conical mounds constructed by some Macrotermes species in well-wooded areas in Africa. The sculptured mounds sometimes have elaborate and distinctive forms, such as those of the compass termite (Amitermes meridionalis & A. laurensis) which build tall wedge-shaped mounds with the long axis oriented approximately north-south. This orientation has been experimentally shown to help in thermoregulation. The column of hot air rising in the above ground mounds helps drive air circulation currents inside the subterranean network. The structure of these mounds can be quite complex ...
